MisterP
Is there a Japanese word for "sacrilege"?
Wes
^ Eh, it's not like this is the original version anyway. Tokyo is character obsessed, so this is probably a way to sell even more Stitch merch. Plus, considering it's OLC money, this show will probably be better than Toy Story Mania.
unjichan
Yeah surprisingly Stitch is one of the most popular disney charactors in Japan... Not Mickey, sorry
cfc
Interesting--I actually kind of liked TDL's "Enchanted Tiki Room: Catch the Fever" show (sure crapped all over Florida's version).

natatomic
Stitch makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a toothpick. I don't care HOW "cute" he is, what is he doing in a Bell Hop outfit in the ToT merchandise? Why was he on the back of Hook's ship during the '07 Flower and Garden Festival? Why is he on a Pirates of the Caribbean pin? I know it's such a petty thing, but man, with as much as it irks me, I wouldn't be surprised if one day my brain just broke from Stitch Overload and I started running naked up and down the streets screaming, "HE DOESN'T BELONG! HE DOESN'T BELONNNNNNG!"

JT3000
Wow, this is even worse than what they did to ours.
ghost007jas
I can only imagine the protest that would arise if they tried to do that to ours.. haha. As for Stitch showing up everywhere, it makes perfect sense. Kids love him so why not shove his furry blue butt on every possible piece of merchandise? Disney isn't out to appeal to diehard fans, lets face it the kids in love with a fuzzy blue alien is where the money is at.
natatomic
^Kids also love eating their own boogers, yet I don't see Disney putting those on a stick and selling them for $4 a pop.
Airtime&Gravity
Everybody now: "In the tiki tiki tiki room...In the tiki tiki tiki room." Great, now I'm going to have the song stuck in my head all night. *repeatedly hits self* Why does Disney, or OLC in this case, want to change this classic attraction. I'm not saying Stitch will ruin this attraction, but is it really necessary? At least they aren't using the bird from Lion King though.

Please explain why the Tokyo version of the Tiki Room is classic. Please also explain why everyone (besides Chuck) is either ignoring or unaware that Tokyo's already had a show change in 1999. Jim1013
I understand the tone of this thread... You're all jealous. Would you rather have a Woody fence? A Genie fence? A Mulan fence? A Meeko fence? Scraping bottom: a Brother Bear fence? I thought so.

The original ride in Disneyland(assuming it was their first and not Magic Kingdom), is classic for being a relatively old ride(1963) and for being the first ride to feature audio-animatronics. The ride at TDLR, while not the original, is still considered a classic ride for me for being a copy of the first ride which had a large impact. I just think that The Enchanted Tiki Room is a somewhat important ride, and I don't think it should be messed with. I can see how what I said didn't make much sense though. Plus, just look at how the one at Magic Kingdom turned out when it was refurbished.

You aren't paying attention. They haven't used a copy of the Disneyland show since 1999, when they changed it over to "The Enchanted Tiki Room: Get The Fever!". They basically replaced all the classic songs other than the "Tiki tiki tiki room" (or, in this case, the "chiki chiki chiki room") with the kind of songs you might get at a 12 year old's birthday party. Psyclone at Magic Mountain was a copy of the Cyclone at Coney Island, which had a large impact on the coaster and amusement park would. Should Psyclone have been saved, even though it was a terrible ride, because it had a connection to a historical ride?
