dino
Saw this article in LaTimes and it seems...interesting to say the least. Musical based on Creature from the Black Lagoon Supposed to coincide with a Re-make of the original film. It sounds like Universal is putting alot into it which is good, but they haven't had the best luck with musicals (Spider-man/Beetlejuice).
Jew
Beetlejuice was awesome! Spiderman Rocks and Fear Factor Live? Not so much. I'll reserve judgement for now, but I will gladly settle for an improvement over Fear Factor. Even if it is just a slight improvement.
TheRapidsNerd
Several years ago I enjoyed the Beetlejuice show at both USH and USO. This new one could be good, especially if you like the old Universal Monsters. Didn't even know they were redoing Creature from the Balck Lagoon. ghost007jas
The show sounds cool, although another remake of a classic movie makes me cringe a bit.
RCFreak
I definitely think they could make it work if they had the right people doing the right things for the show. Sounds like it will be a fun show regardless of how crappy it turns out. I'll still probably watch it, it can't be as bad as Spiderman Rocks... can it? Fear Factor wasn't the greatest show of all time, but it was fun to be a contestant on.

ghost007jas
I'm really looking forward to this show, I have always loved the old movie and this show looks like it will be a lot of fun .
J man
What the crap!?! Did the Creature and Godzilla have a baby or something? I'm a fan of the Creature from the Black Lagoon movies, but I'm not sure if a musical is a good idea. I'm kinda iffy on wether a remake is a good idea. But I guess we'll see how it all turns out. PCW_Nut
I really hope their is some soft opening or something when I'm down there on June 30th...I was hoping this would be open by then as it's just too quirky to miss.
freestylenut
As an AP holder for USF, Fear Factor is always an "automatic pass up" everytime I visit said park. In fact, the one time I DID sit & watch the show we didn't even finish it (booooorrriiiiing). Needless to say, as a fan of the classic Universal monsters, I'd be ALL OVER this show! Sir Clinksalot
Wow, the creature looks pretty cool from that video. And when this show fails, they can move him to the tram tour as the new King Kong.
ghost007jas
^ Sounds good to me... I was at the media event today and I just posted my review of the show: http://www.coasterdom.com/2009/06/30/the-creature-from-the-black-lagoon-a-raging-rocking-show-review/ It was weak, to say the least. Filled with jokes that just weren't funny, songs that were alright at best, and a story that has left me scratching my head. Jake "Let's make Bill and Ted permanent?" Jew
I actually enjoyed the show...until the duet. I think it does a great job of being cheesy/over-the-top, which is what they are going for. The problem for them is I don't think guests understand that. The production value is also very high. Great lighting, sound, and set design.
