Nice in depth TR! I am looking forward to my first ever trip to the park in 61 days.

If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have thought those photoshop pictures were real.

They shut down their new and popular coaster during mid-day to retreive a wallet?

Dumb.

SFMM did the same thing last year with X when my brother and I were in line and somebody lost their sunglasses on the ride.

I have always wanted to go to CP. I now feel as though I have .Loved it

Great pictures! I remember my trip to Cedar Point from last Summer now.

Didn't think about laying down on benches for more unique photos. I might have to try that out, since your bench photos turned out better than any other pic IMO.

Regarding Blue Streak losing its ACE classic status, I find this interesting due to a local issue:

Revolution at SFMM is still an ACE classic, even though it has the OTSR's. According to their rules, this would void the Revolution from being a classic. Are you sure this is the reason?

...and to follow up on my comment...

I noticed that they dont list The Revolution on their website, however any SFMM fan knows that it definitely received the designation. While the sign is MIA right now due to vandalism, its supposedly due to be replaced. Furthermore, even if it WAS removed, it would be on that rescinded list that they have on their website, which it isn't.

Perhaps this would be more appropriate in a new thread, as I do not intend to change the subject from this absolutely wonderful TR, but I thought I would throw in my two cents.

Actually Revolution isn't an ACE Coaster Classic but a Coaster Landmark like the Magnum XL 200 here's the link to it http://www.aceonline.org/CoasterAwards/?type=3 it's the second last one on the page the only way you can have an ACE Coaster Classic is if the coaster has these requirements: The coaster must use traditional lap bars that allow riders to experience so-called airtime, or negative G's (that sensation of floating above the seat!!). Individual, ratcheting lap bars do not meet this requirement.

ACE Coaster Classics allow riders to slide from side-to-side. A coaster with any restraint or device that restricts this freedom is not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status.

ACE Coaster Classics allow riders to view the upcoming drops and thrills. Coasters with headrests on every seat, or the majority of seats, restrict this view and are not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status.

On ACE Coaster Classics, riders are free to choose where they sit. Some parks' operating procedures assign seating; these coasters are not eligible for ACE Coaster Classic status

Very Nice Pics! Thanks for the TR.

This only makes me more excited for CoasterMania 2008! It'll be my first time at the event. Anybody else here going?

I stand corrected and educated, thanks KingOfNynex2003!

no problem I've been an ACEr for the past 4 years and I've read everything on what ACE is all about even though I am an ACEr I absolutely love TPR because they do more trips that I like than ACE does except when they do trips to my crappy homepark Playland the only reason I go there is to go on Coaster because that is the best woodie I've ever been on in my entire life and my 7th favortie coaster wod or steel but as you can see from my coaster count I haven't exactly been on a lot of coasters anyway.

Someone said something about MF need a paint job earlier... right?

Last year some co-workers that worked at MF noticed that sometime mid-season that there was some repainting going on in the second tunnel. Same colors(blueish purple, and silver), just new. They looked great, and I hope to see a full repaint on the ride sometime soon.

Awsome trip report. Wow, I'm so excited about going to CP now. I'll be there in 3 weeks and its my first time. So I cant wait! Any suggestions anyone? lol

WOW! Great photos! You had some really amazing shots of Max-Air as well as a lot of other attractions! I feel so sorry for you! I know I would be pi$$ed if I were waiting for a ride and they shut it down to find a lost item. I know at SheiKra we are not allowed to shut the ride down for a lost item, we just tell the people to come back when the park closes. I can not wait! Just 9 more days before Tony and I go to Cedar Point!!

I didn't know where to post this, as there isn't a Cedar Point updates/discussion thread, nor is there a 2008 Cedar Point thread. This information isn't important enough to warrant it's own thread, so I just decided post it here.

For this season, retractable seat belts were added on Mean Streak, along with Blue Streak and Corkscrew to help improve dispatch times and make it easier to board.

Awesome My first saturday there will probably just be riding the woodies (lines = bleh) and flats. Hopefully we can get one ride on with ERT (maverick because we have to get our passes activated) then go to TTD for it's opening

I have a quick question about Cedar Point and rather than start a whole new thread for a small question I thought I would just throw it in here with your wonderful photos. On CP's website I was looking at the webcams and one of them is facing towards the lagoon end of the skyway- out towards the big wheel and such. On the ground is a big white line starting off on the main midway and bending to run under and beyond where the cam is. What is this? Anyone know?

To give you a better idea where the cam is (in case they move it)- Corkscrew is barely visable to the left and Space Spiral and MaxAir are on the far right with their Wicked Whatever also in view. This line runs down the opposite side of the midway from the pagoda and bends to run down towards the Million Dollar Midway (anyone besides me remember it being called that?)
