Sticky Nicky Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Since Diablo Cody is a member here, I thought it would be appropriate that I would post saying that her award winning, record breaking movie is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray. There ar three different versions to choose from: Single Disc DVD which includes the great movie, audio commentary by Jason Reitman (Director) and Diablo Cody (Screenwriter), 11 deleted scenes, a gag reel, a "Cast and Crew Jam", and screen tests. Two Disc Special Edition which includes everything from the single disc and also includes a second disk with even more special features, 4 additional featurettes (("Way Beyond 'Our' Maturity Level: Juno – Leah – Bleeker", "Diablo Cody Is Totally Boss", "Jason Reitman For Shizz", and "Honest To Blog! Creating Juno"), and a Digital Copy feature to download to your computer and iPod. Blu-Ray edition includes all the two-disc DVD edition extras and two additional featurettes: "Fox Movie Channel Presents: Juno World Premiere" and "Fox Movie Channel Presents: Casting Session". Go pick your copy of the Academy Award winning movie or buy it online at Target, Best Buy, or Circuit City I plan on getting the 2-disc version myself.
Bucket Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 ...record breaking movie is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray. Record breaking movie?? Hardly. I actually liked Juno a lot and thought it was cleverly written, but I've seen these kinds of films before. I don't understand why this movie is getting SO much hype. Sure, it was great, but it wasn't the BEST. I don't think I will be buying this one on DVD.
Sticky Nicky Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 ^It was the first Fox Searchlight Film to break $100 million.
Bucket Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 ^Whoops. I stand corrected then! But I still think the movie is overrated.
Erik Johnson Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I bought the Blu-Ray yesterday and I plan on watching it this evening (Once the pizza is finished cooking). If you happen to buy either version at Best Buy you do get some Juno themed stickers to place on your Ipod.
AllenA07 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 ^You'll have to let us know how the Blu-Ray version is. I've stayed away from buying comedy movies in Blu because it doesn't make that much of a difference to me for the cost. However I really enjoyed this movie and with some positive reviews I think I'd go with the Blu-Ray over the DVD.
socalMAN123 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 ^It was the first Fox Searchlight Film to break $100 million. Wasn't Napoleon Dynamite a Fox Searchlight Movie? It's gross revenue was over 150 million. ---Brent
Hercules Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Great! Now I don't have to watch a piloted copy!
Erik Johnson Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Great! Now I don't have to watch a piloted copy! Is that like the airplane version or something?
Angry_Gumball Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Just saw the movie last night at my neighbor's house. I have a feeling that the phrases used in the movie (and there were many) are about to be overused to the max! (I've already heard the 'just because your urine's on it doesn't mean it's yours' line being said/ran into the ground.)
Gnome Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Nobody appreciates a suck up. The movie was good.. but not that great.. you don't have to proclaim it as the greatest movie ever made. I feel like you've sold this movie out. Instead of appreciating it for what it is, you're advertising it just because there's some one, for the record you've probably never have or never will meet, who just happens to visit the same website you do. Just throwing it out there. Its good to be excited about things. Just make sure you're doing it for the right reasons.

Jew Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 ^^I'm pretty sure they are members out there who will appreciate this information. There's nothing wrong with supporting a fellow TPR member.

It's called "courtesy". I really liked the film and thought it was one of the better films I've seen in the past few years. Ellen Page was brilliant. She effortlessly fell into her role and gave Juno a rather uncommon dose of charisma. I also really enjoyed the soundtrack and some of the dialog. Since I'm a huge Arrested Development nerd, I'm bound to love any movie with both Michael Cera & Jason Bateman in it. I was sad that they didn't share any scenes together. Does Juno fall into the august domain of my very favorite films? Nope. It's definitely not in the same league as The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, et al. But Juno is really good, really original, and I personally found very few flaws in it.
RIP Psyclone Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 One small point... Orange Tic Tacs play a small role in the movie. Juno, although taking place in Minnesota, was filmed in British Columbia, Canada. In Canada, orange Tic Tacs come in red/orange colo(u)red plastic containers, as seen in the movie, and here: Of course, the U.S. version of Tic Tacs should have been seen, with clear plastic containers:
spaceace12 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Without saying the ending, what is the plotline? Just trying to get a idea on if I should rent it. Is it funny?
RIP Psyclone Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Actually, Diablo Cody is online right now, and she would be the best one to explain! But, in short, 16 year old girl gets pregnant, considers abortion, decides on adoption, hilarity ensues.

So a Canadian tic tac was used. Big deal. Next are you going to complain about how many times Toronto has been used as New York in TV/movies?

LOL, it's an "error in geography," not a continuity error, to use the imdb terminology. Shooting in TO to double as NYC is obviously not an "error," nor would I think so. It only is when the CN Tower is visible, or something like that. -chris
TheBannedKid Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 It's still pretty lame that you can't find something nice to point out about the movie. You don't have to like it but you sure seem to have some motive to crap all over it and Diablo, and that's not cool.
RIP Psyclone Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 ^Dude, I've made it pretty clear that I don't dislike the movie. In fact, I would say it has grown on me, and I in fact do like the movie. The Tic Tac thing, however, is not Diablo Cody's fault, since it was most likely not her decision to film it in Canada. So, please, before you get all accusatory...
spaceace12 Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 I got as far as the girl telling her dad she's pregnant, then a technical problem at work....Guess I will just wait till Wednesday to watch it. I rented it on Friday.

Hercules Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I rented the movie the other night. I thought it was excellent.
