Disneyland Resort (DL, DLR, DCA) Discussion Thread

p. 393 - 70th Anniversary events and lineup announced!

^ Wow, I had no idea you were born without taste buds!

Come on, they aren't that good! And they are really small sandwiches for the price your paying. I've gone 3 times and they were just ok. Also, the closest one is 15 minutes away, so the drive isn't worth it for me.

Sheesh! Good sandwiches must be hard to come by in LA.

In the Disney area, we really don't have any!

That line & all the good things I hear about this place makes me think they put some drugs in those sandwiches. Waiting 1.5 hours for a sandwich is way too much for me.

I love the building though. Adds color & something striking to a sometimes bland Downtown Disney. Excited to try it in 4 weeks

Seriously, why is the line that long??? It's just a sandwich. Is it because it's "new" and at "Disneyland Resort" and the fanboys will go nuts over anything they put there???

Then again, people lined up for over an hour here to get a gas station sandwich when Orlando opened it's first Wawa a couple of months ago. Thankfully that died down real quickly when I think people realized it was an "over-hyped 7-11."

That might be true but kind of an odd decision to mention here considering we're discussing DTD which is not in LA.

Is there are reason you're being such a dick in all your posts? Just curious. Because I really hope it stops... NOW... otherwise you won't be posting here any longer.

Got it?

Thinking about it more I'm impressed by people willing to wait this long for a sandwich. I'm too fat at heart & weak to wait that long for food. It would be so easy to ecstatically walk on over McDonalds & splurge myself. I want a McDouble now -_-

I consider myself a moderate DL Fanboy, and this just blows me away. Earl of Sandwich has been blown up for months as this amazing food location and much needed at the DLR. DLR easily has some of the best food options I've ever seen at any theme park (I haven't been to WDW so don't get on me about Epcot having better food) so I don't get why EoS was so needed and why it's such a big deal to the extreme fanboys.

Don't get me wrong, I hear they are great and it's cool Disney is adding to DTD, but it's not like we couldn't find great food already.

^ Exactly. I mean, at WDW's DTD, Earl is a nice quick-serve to go eat at. It's not a big deal. Some people really like it, some people think it's just 'ok' - if anything, it's a nice lower-cost option to have.

It's really not that big of a deal. Not sure why it has become one at DLR. Seriously, it's a really nice "Subway." That's it.

Affirmative. Southern California (in my opinion of course) has been going on this healthy eating thing for a while now, and while everything is 'fresh' and 'good for you,' none of it is AWESOME. I mean, if you want a really good vegan wrap, by all means come on out but when it comes to food that tastes great regardless of caloric count, steer clear!

I was thrilled when we got 5 Guys. Which Wich is amazing. We don't have any sandwich chains that stand out besides Subway and Quiznos. The Quiznos and the Subway across the street from DLR are both particularly bad. Still holding out hope that we will get a PotBelly Sandwiches one day. Anyway, people like Which Wich because of the Wicked and how they aren't afraid to stack up meat! The burgers at 5 Guys are BIG (compare to In-N-Out). These sandwiches are far from healthy, which is oh-so unpopular with California media.

So yeah, when So Cal hears about a new east coast sandwich transplant, I think there are more than a few of us that get excited. As far as Earl of Sandwich at DTD, yeah thats probably the same line of fanboys that waited 6 hours for Nemo just to say they were there first. Nonetheless, I am pretty excited about a sandwich that might be awesome but I'm willing to wait until the line doesn't look like THAT.

DTD in Florida though is giant and has many many food offering across a wide range of cost and options. DTD in Anaheim didn't really have that many quick serve, low cost choices that offered actual meals. La Brea Bakery is the only location that filled that slot.

This has nothing to do with the parks though. It's about DTD needing another quick serve, reasonably priced food location. If were comparing food inside parks, WDW overall wins there.

As for the people who waited that long for a sandwich... they are nuts! lol
