My advice:

I used to be terrified of heights. I wouldn't ride drop towers or tall coasters either. Then, I went into Boston and went to the top of the Hancock Tower (which is maybe about 700-800 feet tall) and I got very close to the window. I looked down, realized that it was stable, and just like that I was over it.

It's kinda like if you get punched in the same spot over and over again, it doesn't hurt after a while.

I don't normally have trouble with heights unless I stand at the edge of a balcony. I remember going all the way to the edge of the Eifel Tower at Kings Island and I suddenly dashed back, for fear of falling.

Ok... to get over my fear of heights I rode the largest roller coaster that I could. I was so neverous when I was in line... but once you do it, you will not regret it... unless you have motion sickness or something like that. I just think that you should go ride the tallest roller coaster you can find, and this should make you not be scared of heights! Good luck!

I am honestly terrified of heights. I can ride any coaster though. I think it helps that the restraints are there. Seatbelts and lap bars are wonderful.

However, going on something extremely high or have something very dinky holding you in. It still bothers me. I just flip out and do it. Someone normally has to pry my hands apart from whatever when I get off the ride....but I still do it.

If you just get on whatever, no matter how nervous and do it, you will eventually get over your fears.

I am still scared of heights in anything but coasters. When I first rode voyage, I looked straight forward and never off the side of the lift hill. Taht ended after that. I can look down either side of any coaster on lift hills now. I still get a little feeling of scared at the top of s:top (hellivate) at sfkk, but that doesn't stop me from trying them.

You know how people always say don't look down? Well, when I look up I get more scared than when I look down. It's really freaky. But the same thing on the restraints for me. I could go on tall roller coasters all day, but climbing on the top of the cliffs at camp, I still do it, but it scares me a lot!

Like many others i too am terrified of heights!

Scared to death.

But i know 99% of things that involve being high these days are usually quite safe so i force myself to take advantage of the fact that i am afraid of heights push the fear.

I think the best thing i have done was bunjee jump when i was last in New Zealand.

The fear adds to the adrenalin rush and makes me want to go again! =P

It's my belief that there really is no such thing as a fear of heights. It is merely a fear of falling. If you were to ride up to the top of a 10,000 foot building with no windows, you would most likely not fear that height. (unless of course you are fearful of elevators and then my point is moot).

I have stood on a piece of land that is 14,000 feet high and not been bothered. I have also sat on a rock that was 100 feet above a waterfall and kinda been freaked out about it, because there were no handrails or safety guards.

When you get in line for a coaster or tall attraction, just remind yourself that all the people who got on the ride got off safely.

Coasters and other such attractions are by far safer means of transportaion than your car statistically speaking. And way more fun.

I hate the feeling of being really up high and then looking down and then feeling like you are about to fall over the ledge. I know it makes things worse if you look down, but I always fall in love with the view, so I look over then realize I hate heights. Haha

Heh... I know how you feel... I hate being at a great height, but I agree, it may be scary, but really push yourself.

I've never been any higher that 100ft on a ride until recently. Detonator really freaked me out. I didn't realise it was a powered launch and it caught me off-guard, pushing my hatred towards height even more.

I went to Spain with a friend, the local theme park had a 200ft tower that I was fearing loads; I actually had trouble queuing for it. I sat down, sore all the way up and screamed like a girl on the way down. I done this repeatedly, done a few other rides and pushed myself again. I ended up not holding on or screaming which was a massive step for me. If I didn't do that, I wouldn't have been able to do Stealth, let alone wait for Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster.

The key is to constantly reassure yourself, but push to do the scariest thing you can do. Go on thehighest ride when you first get to the park, preferably a launched as it will end fairly quickly, but you would have conquered your fear. Just persue this until you feel safe with heights and hey presto!

Honestly, I used to be afraid of heights/really tall roller coasters too. My advice is to just do it- go on the biggest coaster you can. My friends practically dragged me onto the Superman at Darien Lake a couple years ago, and I was almost in tears all through the line, but once I rode it I was completely fine.

Scarred of the drops eh? Well I have a bit of a funny situation, somewhat funny but I'm actually posting this from the Disney World Transport bus. Back to my "help" info, well honestly I am scared of heights today I rode Soarin'. It is just a simulator yet it feels like you are VERY high, and you actually are but not as high as you feel...Yes I was a bit scarred, yet I was on tower of terror just early today, not even worried about it. Odd? I thought so to.. Also I've even been on all rides at IOA/USF/BGA. I still don't understand my odd symptoms.
