CoasterNut17 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 For some odd reason it's my first night ride on Raging Bull at SFGAm (was my first time ever on it). I had beed so chickened out to go on it for years. I finally got on it and it was AWESOME!
Darien Laker Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 My last ride at Cedar Point last summer, which was Magnum, at sunset. I knew the amazing two-day trip was coming to an end, and I knew that would be an absolutely perfect way to end it. I sure was right. The veiw at the tops of the big hills was absolutely gorgeous in the day time, but the veiw as the sun was going down was just amazing.
almightyfire Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Mine was X and El Toro. Both had me weak in the knees.
kennywood!007 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Last ride of the night on Racer at Kennywood. Everyone was going crazy! It was so fun. Also my first ride on Storm Runner, amazing fun!
SoCal_Coaster Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Have you ever had a ride on a ride that you will never forget? Maybe it was your first roller coaster or maybe you rode the beast at night. Whatever it is, post it here. Tell us the ride and why you won't forget it. My moment took place when we went to Six Flags Over Texas around 6:00. We headed straight for the New Texas Giant. It was still light out, yet it was nearing to be dark. We waited in an hour and a half long line for the best experience I've ever had on a ride. When we got to the station, we were assigned (with luck ) the front row. At approximately 7:30, the ride started. It was officially night; there was no light to be seen from the sun at all. The ride was so amazing and packed with airtime that I started crying in the ride. At that point, Ntag was firmly placed at no. one in my top ten with no competition. To this day it has barely budged, moving to the number 2 spot be behind Iron Rattler. I haven't ridden this ride since, but I can't wait to feel all the airtime again. I will never forget my ride on the New Texas Giant at night. Can't wait to here your stories!
Paradox Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 When I was terrified of riding Rock n Rollercoaster at Disney in Orlando. My mom said she would ride it with me and the only coaster she had ridden before was Expedition Everest a week earlier (hated it BTW) and I will never forget going form "Why did I do this?" to "This is awesome!" I will never forget the look on my mom's face and her hair with a "flow" from the launch. This got me over my fear of rollercoasters in general and inversions. Now what really sparked my enthusiasm was my first ride on Bizarro. Thanks to a field trip and peer pressure I was going up the lift hill with my eyes closed screaming and after the drop I realized that this wasn't so scary at all and I rode it about 5 more times that day. This got me over my fear of heights and made me feel very triumphant and that I could ride anything which also led me to ride Leviathan without any hesitation whatsoever. Rollercoasters are the foundations of my life.
GCI Wooden Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Mine must be Renegade on the last 2 Sundays of the 2014 season. First off, the ride crew was incredible, best that I have EVER had. They were hilarious and very efficient. They were energetic, constantly making jokes, singing along with the music, and they were one of the fastest crews I've ever seen. Also, I had the entire train to myself on one of the rides in the back seat, which allowed me to see how the entire trains moves on the track. I know it sounds really geeky, but it is something I will never forget. I remember looking at the train on the lift hill, and the cars were moving slightly up and down as it went along the track. Something you don't see with a full train. Edited April 29, 2015 by GCI Wooden
Snowyowl1028 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 ^ Mine is Renegade too, and it wasn't a good experience. Usually Renegade is very fun, but not in a thunderstorm. All the rides were closed, but for some reason they kept running Renegade. Renegade in the rain was... bullets in my face for two minutes. I will never forget.
Bedholm Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Mine definitely has to be a combination experience from my first visit to Cedar Point back in September. After eating dinner I finally saw a train go over the top hat on TTD got in line just for the ride to down again. About a hour later got back in line got on the ride and was lucky enough to get a first ride rollback and with no one in line got back on immediately. Went for a walk and a few more rides on Millennium and Maverick, but decided to get a pitch black night ride on TTD. With the line being so short I walked on and then ran to get back in line. Once I got on the ride, the ride moved to the launch section and just sat there until the train was moved back into the station. People decided on leaving for the night until only 20 people were left. Once the ride was finally ready and we launched something felt off and then I realized 2nd rollback in 4 rides. The anticipation and the luck of dual rollbacks was so unbelievable. My mom thought due to the inconvenience of waiting nearly 1 hour for the ride to be fixed and the last 20 rides cheering for a rollback that the ride was purposely given a rollback. Either way the memory of 2 rollbacks in the dark on a gloomy day is just so unforgettable.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Meteor at Little Amerricka last summer. The ride op was engaging everyone in the queue and just made it so much fun. No one minded the wait at all; it was part of the experience. He looked like he was having fun, and everyone fed on that vibe. It was a great ride made even better by great staff. Absolutely made our day.
Voyager6442 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Mine would have to be my first night ride on The Voyage at HoliWood Nights in 2012. That was the first time I realized I understood what a wonderful difference riding at night made. I never dreamed that The Voyage could be even more awesome than it was during the day!
gromithere Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 My most memorable coaster was not necessarily a good one! I still will never forget my first and only ride on Mean Streak. I seriously had the the thought that I was not going to survive that ride as I was on it. At that time my interest in coasters was still new, so I had no advance knowledge of the reputation of this evil S.O.B.
Beni_Rodriguez Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Meteor at Little Amerricka last summer. The ride op was engaging everyone in the queue and just made it so much fun. Absolutely made our day. I rode Meteor today. The ride operator is very entertaining. Re-rides at least 2x sometimes 3x. Fun day. Great park for kids!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Glad you had fun! Little Amerricka is a gem. After reading all the trip reports from the Texas/Midwest tour 2013 that everyone liked it better than the Dells, I thought we must do it when we visited Chicago last year. I was seriously impressed with everything about that park. Everyone going to the Dells should get off the highway a few miles early; Marshall is where the fun is happening.
Canobie Coaster Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Doing the water challenge on the Gotham City Gauntlet was pretty fun, but I would have to go with my first ride on Disneyland's Space Mountain last summer. It had been a while since I had been on Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain and I didn't really remember it well, but I remember the ride being kind of slow with some good drops. This one had an epic soundtrack (I have since gotten the song and it's one of my most played songs on my iPod) and the speed is maintained from start to finish.
Ape Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I've got three that always stand out. The first time on Millenium Force in 2003. The first time I was tall enough to ride Vortex. It was like a right of passage. That extremely terrifying (I was a kid) first Beast night ride.
gerstlaueringvar Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 My first ride on Wild West Mine Train when I was 7. Back then I thought inversions are the scariest thing then the airtime on that thing got me real good. Outlaw Run first ride, back row in the dark. I didn't know airtime can come in sideways and during twisting! Parrot Coaster first ride. You expect a B&M snooze fest then it turns out to be a monster...
