It may just be because it's my homepark, but I love driving up to Michigan's Adventure. You're driving down a country road and then all of a sudden BAM, here's Timbers.

Another one of my favorites is Holiday World. Coming down the road and seeing Voyage was really cool.

Cedar Point is also a good one, especially if you take old Route 2 down from Toledo to the park. Really great view from the Edison bridge.

^No, 'cause that's not the view you get by any means. That's looks like it's been taken on top of one of the clubs. IOA is cool, but nothing terribly spectacular or intimidating as far as skyline goes. And it's not that amazing looking from the highway either.

I have to second Cedar Point (I feel like it's going to be a given) and SFOT, but also throw in SFOG. As you approach the park on the highway, you start to see Acro, and now, you see Goliath towering on top of the hill, and eventually Mindbender, and Deja Vu, and Scorcher. It's a pretty sweet visual. Pretty intimidating to me.

As you approach SFOT, the skyline bears it all. Sorry for the lousy picture.

The real IOA view.

I'd have to say Alton Towers for the simple reason you can't see it. This may sound very daft but it does really build up the anticipation as you wind down the tiny country lanes and suddenly you see the Towers looming over the forest

I think Cedar Point because of TTD and MF and SFoG because when you crest the hill on I-20 you see Goliath towering over the park. And I guess you could say IOA because of the Hulk, Dueling Dragons, the lighthouse, and Dr. Doom.

I liked Six Flags Over Texas and Magic Mountain. My favorite is Marine World. Heading towards San Francisco, you have to go up a hill in the highway and then go down the hill while seeing crazy curves down below. Of course the highway is higher than the park at this point. Magic Mountain also has the obstructed by an obstacle until making a curve on the highway thing going with it.

Well, I guess SFMW would be pretty intimitaing (Sp?) because when you walk up to it from the parking lot, you walk pretty close to Medusa, Roar, and V2 is also kind of close. So I guess my vote goes to SFMW. (Although sadly, roller coasters don't scare me like they used to )

Yea my vote goes for SFMW aswell because you can see all their best coasters around you while your standing in the entrance.....The funny thing is that if you stand in a certain spot....you can see ALL of SFMW's coasters.

It's weird, my favorite parks from a distance are actually the ones you can't see. Like Dollywood and SDC. I mean, you know that somewhere out there is a 16 story B&M or a 12 story arrow looper, yet you can't see them. But you can't post pictures of that either, haha.

I would have to go with SFMW as well (just saw it today) and SFMM. SFMW goes for one of my picks because of it's brightly colored coasters (especially V2 now) that stand out from Hwy 80 and Medusa looks pretty twisted at a first glance. Zonga added to it as well when it was there. SFMM would also be one of my picks because you just see coasters everywhere. (Not saying if they're good or not)

Joyland.... Even though the surrounding area has developed, it is awesome thinking you are in the woods or somewhere, and you are in the middle of a city.

It still hasn't changed much from 1949

I have to go with SFNE, coming from I-91 to the Route 5. South End Bridge. As you're crossing the river over the South End Bridge, looking over to the left, Cyclone is easiest to see at first glance, and it, Scream, and Superman just loom over the river.

Mine would have to be Thorpe Park

Stealth in the background with Tidal Wave just in front, with Colossus, the Log Flume and (sometimes) Slammer and Samurai over to the far left, with X:NwO's pyramid poking above the trees, rush, N:I and Vrtex all centre stage with Detonator poking out the back

lovely!

Cedar Point looks really cool. I love how you you have to drive through the beautiful town of Sandusky to get there and you can't see it for the first few minutes (not even TTD).

Dorney Park is another one that looks really cool. It looks like the entire park is sliding down a mountain.

I also like how WoF sort of explodes out of the horizon. Even from a few miles away you can tell that Patriot is a very bright red. And when you get closer, you see all that wonderful landscaping between Mamba's turnaround and the road.

Without a doubt, it's Cedar Point. As you're approaching it on the causeway, it's the ONLY thing you're looking at, and it's easily the greatest coaster skyline anywhere in the world.

Note: Greastest coaster skyline does not equal greastest coaster collection.

I know alot guys will probably disagree with me when I say SFNE. I say this because if you go many times every year like I do you get to see that the town that SFNE is in is probably the last place you would expect to see an amusment park. Then you keep going and see Cyclone right away with Tomahawk not to far. Then you can see almost all of the park. Its not the most intimidating, but it is the most unexpected in my opinion.

Cedar Point by far, just miles away and you can see some of the behemoths that tower the skies.

Busch Gardens Tampa, on the other hand, not that appealing. Although coming down from the north/east, you'd get a good view of Kumba and Montu. But that's about it, other than that, its just walls with spikes on top.

OMG, thanks coasterdude for reminding me of SFOG's skyline. However, I went back in 2004, when Gasp was still standing. It was nice to see that it stays lit up all night from my hotel window.

Taken back in 2004, ignore that watermark, that was from back when I was a mere newbie and accidentally saved that over the original photo :/ .

Sorry for the grainy-ness, but Gasp lit up at night.

Cedar Point from the other side of the water is beautiful, especially at night. Also, when you're on your way there, and you can see the taller rides testing.

Darien Lake (i know it's a little bias) is also cool because you're absolutely in the middle of nowhere and then S:ROS just pops out of nowhere.
