harsaphes Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 The layout of Atlantis Adventure is the following : - LSM launch - top hat with 90° turn on the left during the ascent - Space dive on the right followed by a 270° right hand turn - 270° left turn - 270° right turn - brakes - drop on the lake - 180° turn on the lake + S curve and brakes - 180° flat turn with dark ride section - LSM lift - 180° flat turn - 75° drop on the lake - camelback with 90° banked on the left exit - 270° upward spiral - drop on the lake - final brakes
ECZenith Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ That certainly clears up any confusion from me, thanks!
Worm Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Then theres more to atlantis adventure thatn i thought.... Can anyone guess another inversion? IO'm geussing a barrel roll.
DATman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^^^Sorry to be nitpicky, but it uses LIMs instead of LSMs. Intamin hasn't used LSMs since Superman and that one in Australia (correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 90% positive that's right...).
ECZenith Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ California Screamin' uses LSMs, but you are right. According to RCDB, AA uses linear induction.
harsaphes Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 - California Screamin' uses LIM. - Atlantis Adventure, the Ball Coaster, the Hal Pipe (and the new CP's coaster) use LSM. This new, smaller, more efficient LSM were developped for the Half Pipe in Finland in 2003. LSM LIM
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Has anyone compared what they've built so far with the overview of all the footers? I'm not good at this sort of thing, but I know there were a few people making some layout guesses back when the footers were poured. Any updates on your guesses? -James Dillaman
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I saw one on PB. But I'm not going to dig through all the crap to try and find it.
tinflowers Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Man, this is great. I can't wait to ride this new Aquatrax.
goleafsgo Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 the ride is definately launched, seeing as there are no really high supports. so i am guessing it is gnna be something like Rita but with inversions...
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ...Rita isn't an aquatrax, silly. It's AA with inversions. Haven't you been paying attention -James Dillaman
ECZenith Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 If you're talking about the NL one on pointbuzz, it's total crap. No surprise there. The track already in place doesn't make sense with the layout someone made there. Besides, it's more fun watching it come up and not knowing what to expect.
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Nah, the one I saw wasn't NL. It was one of those air overview pictures with the guessed layout drawn in with red. Basically a connect the dots with the footers type thing. It was a decent educated guess.
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I'd like to see this angle again, with the track in place. How was this picture taken?? -James Dillaman EDIT: You have no idea how long I had to search this thread to find this stupid picture!!
saytrain Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I agree with you. I want another arial shot of the current progress, it would make seeing the possible layout much easier! Also, has there been any sighting of supports laying around like the ones I circled in the Atlantis picture?
goleafsgo Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 looks like it was taken from a plane or heli.
BeemerBoy Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ or a zeppelin, or carrier pigeon, or Dumbo, or.....
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 That was taken from the 1000 foot coaster that was built out in the water while all the fanboys druled over the smaller construction.
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Fanboys are slipping today, or they've all been banned until the announcement. They've put a roof on the building and built another helix. we'll pause as the fanboys get the cleenex out and clean off the monitor.
BeemerBoy Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ Naw...a roof on the building? Say it ain't so. I gotta check this out and see for myself!
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ Before they put the roof on though I saw them lower an aqua trax car in. They must be hiding the trains there.
BeemerBoy Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Holy crap, you're right Paul....it is a roof!! I'll never doubt you again. The real question on everyone's minds has to be what roofing material they'll use. Should I start a poll on that? What do you think, traditional shingles, tile, metal? The possiblities are endless!!
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Wow, they're adding some tiles or black covering to the roof. This is exciting action folks. I'm just going to have to take the afternoon off work to watch.
