thecoasterlead
I was at the park today, wild thing was having MAJOR issues like when it came to the last brake run it stopped immediately so they shut it down. Plus it was acting weird like it kept stopping it took about a 1 minute to get the station due the weird brakes. It was my first time on Raging Rapids and let me tell you, I'm addicted! It's a blast. Operations in the park today were kinda sucky Mad Mouse went down, wild thing, breakers plunge (my fav) had one slide down, steel venom was shut down for about 40, renagade only had one train so I don't wait. If I were to pay to get in I would not be very happy, but ya! It wasn't too busy, 10-15 min waits except for renagade and high roller. There was a new welcome sign in the parking lot too! It's nice and says welcome! #vfbestday plus it has a picture of wild thing! Good news is all three towers were operational on power tower! I had a great day! ACES
I was at the park this morning till noon. Renegade was running fine with train two. Mad Mouse, Corkscrew, High Roller, Power Tower, Extreme Swing were all running fine in the morning till noon. Got in line for Steel Venom at 11:00am was running. Â Wild Thing Brake Run three train operation Wild Thing gotten stuck a few times this morning I was going to ride at 10:30am for a half hour today. Wild Thing was down at 10:30am open back up later. I've also notice that with the final break run the both trains stopped right away at the beginning of the brake run also took a while before arriving back in the station. If it's having issues they better fix it or they can't run a three train operation. On the 4th of July there going to run all three trains. Also when you run all three trains would they need to have more ride operators checking lap bars seat belts and are they going to have to train them to load unload to be fast? Not stacking up the trains keep them running in cycles slow down the lift hill to? Edited June 27, 2015 by ACES
MN55skycoaster
Due to the new IROC procedures it almost does not make sense to run all three trains because you can't dispatch fast enough so trains will be stacking

madsencarson
It is definitely possible to operate all three trains. I have seen it before two years ago on the Fourth of July. They need to check restraints very quickly to prevent stacking, but man when they have all 3 going, it makes the wait seem so much shorter. But they definitely need more workers to handle it. How does three train operation work again? Is there one train loading, one train on the lift and one train running the course?

ACES
Wild Thing three trains on the 4th of July  When I was talking with one of the ride ops on Renegade Friday morning they said there going to start training ride operators how to run all three train. With the ride operators there going to need two in the first three front cars two in the middle three cars two in the back also even if they don't get full trains I think there going to have to keep all three trains running in cycles so they don't stack up keep them moving and not haveing the trains stop right away at the beginning of the brake run not take so long to get to the station. They were having issues Friday morning with the trains stopping to early was down for a while and with running all three trains the ride operators will have to move a lot faster to and all depends how quick the guests take to load and unload in the station. Also what happens if one train gets stuck on the lift?

Also what happens if one train gets stuck on the lift?  When the train gets suck, it's HELL on EARTH! I went once on the 4th and never again! I had fast lane too and the wait was about 30. It really pisses me off when people bring cameras on the ride, every time they know they're breaking a rule but they just do it. What really makes me mad is when the train stops on the lift and the ride op needs to walk allllllll the way up and then alllllllllll the way down! This causes the line to get +30 min then it should! VF15
Whenever I see three-train operations on Wild Thing, it almost always results in stacking, so the third-train is basically unnecessary . I personally would rather see them run two trains on their other coasters more often.
valleyfairfanatic
Ironically I overheard some wild thing operators discussing 3 train operations training, and apparently there's gonna be 6 loaders in the station at once, rather than two.
ACES
People bring cameras on board  I've been on Wild Thing this summer few times they will stop the train until that person puts there camera or phone away also anyone watch the ride operator who is operating Wild Thing in the booth see if they pay attention when the train goes up the lift. There are two ride op girls who really watch the lift good. It would bother me to specially waiting for a while. I haven't seen this on Renegade of haven't gotten stuck on Renegade yet.  I'm going the 4th of July just to see how busy it will be I'm hopeing they will have the high way gates open before 9:00am and one day they had 4400 school field trips the park open at 8:30am wonder if they will open the park early. yogibrain
Just curious, where do you guys live and how often do you go to the park? Â I live 67miles away (one way) in North Branch. Last year was the first year we did season passes and went a total of 10 times. This year we have already been 9 times. Fun fact! I keep track of every expense I would have incurred without a season pass. Such as admission, parking, food, Dinosaurs Alive. This year I added the season long dining plan. I'll let you know at the end of the season what the value has been. So far with three gold passes + dining we have saved about $1,300.
garyman6
I live in Farmington and i go about 5 - 7 times a year. Season pass is the only way to play! My last trip i took my daughter and was only charged 9.95 for her ticket. Im really not sure why it was so low but i wasnt complaining. They might have thought we were part of a school group but i really dont know.
ACES
I almost visit the park every day a lot on weekends I only live twenty minutes away in Savage nice to have the season pass specially for parking if you visit every day. I have the fine dining pass to. Do the water park in the morning on a hot day then the park in the evening. I normally ride Renegade hour a lot in the morning with re rides then a half hour on Wild Thing and each day I visit I do some flat rides in between different rides each day I'm normally there from 9:00am till 1:00pm and Monday's are the best day to go. I live about two hours away from the park in Southern Minnesota and visit Valleyfair 8 to 10 times a year (I would go more often if I lived closer). I actually live slightly closer to Arnolds Park than Valleyfair, but I still consider VF to be my home park. Good to know I'm not the only VF fan here that doesn't live in the metro area.  I usually get a gold pass (without dining), though I got a platinum pass this year since I'm going to some other CF parks this summer (going to Worlds of Fun in a few weeks). C.P.A.Guy
I'm about 2.5 hours away from Valleyfair. 40 Minutes from Arnold's Park. I usually make it to Valleyfair once or twice a year. I didn't make it there last year though, not a huge deal as I hit up Worlds of Fun and some other parks/water parks. My family had season passes 2003-2006 when gas was a tad cheaper and would make it probably 5-6 times a year. Decided to purchase season passes due to the addition of Steel Venom. We would hardly spend a dime in the park when we'd go. We'd pack lunches and go eat in the picnic area, not really into games or buying crappy souvenirs. About the only thing we'd buy is mini donuts at the front of the entrance right before we'd head home. Good times. Wish I was closer to make it more often, but I usually don't feel like I'm missing out only visiting once per year. The park is small enough to do in one day. Usually go late or early in the season on a Sunday so lines aren't terrible at all. I'm usually ready to go home by 5pm if I get there at opening. Ride each coaster 2-3 times and hit a couple other rides. Not a huge flat ride/spinning ride guy like Enterprise/Monster/Riptide. Love Xtreme Swing! Â I'll probably go labor day Sunday this year to get my last ride in on Excalibur. I do make it up to the cities 2-3 time per month in the summer for random events, so a new coaster probably would lure me into getting a season pass again.. Â That's my story.. RCjunkie
I live 15 minutes away from VF, 2 major highways get me there in that time with only 1 light in between. Have a Gold Pass (Platinum Pass if I am visiting any other CF parks that year). I visit about a dozen times a year, pretty much once every other week. Since I have been going to the park since it has opened there is not much new to see or do so I get my coaster fix with a flat ride or two in about 3-4 hours. If the park ever gets a new coaster then visits and lengths of stay will increase for sure.
VFVSGirl16
I live about 20-25 minutes away, but I have family who lives 5 minutes from Valleyfair that I visit every week (it's a grandparent who needs help), so I'm there fairly often. I've already gone like 12 times this year... I do rides some visits, and other visits I focus on going to see Live E, taking pictures, and/or eating with All-Season Dining. C.P.A.Guy
It looks like they are landscaping along the fence in the last of those photos laying either red mulch or red decor rocks. Another photo has a giant pile of rocks it looks like. I would guess just landscaping, but I know that doesn't excite anyone.
