Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

The invert would be cool over the midway like Silver Bullet. I would expect a B&M for our coaster that will probably come in 2016/17, but after that maybe something like iSpeed in 2019/20/21/22 in the Dino area. Throw in a dark ride and it would be the KBF of Minnesota! Preferred color scheme for the intamin blitz would be the same as Riddlers revenge. I love that color scheme and it would be completely unique to any colors of any other VF coaster. Crazy speculation is fun!

Right, because another shade of green would be so unique at VF.

Maybe an Aqua, Light Blue or Turquise would be better.

At least it would be unique for VF and different from WT's green shade of color. Between CS and MM we know the park definitely does not need anymore orange and yellow.

CF loves orange and teal (your corkscrew) so thats off the table. If and when VF gets its next coaster its either going to red and white or blue and white. But teal and blue would be cool

You sound so certain. Not bad color schemes but they are pretty traditional, for coasters like hypers or gigas or wing riders. Afterburn can pull it off so I would be fine with it, but usually inverts have two vibrant colors.

^ VF already has a couple bright coasters with Cork and Mouse. I think you hit the nail on the head with afterburns color combo. I happen to like the combination on afterburn. I think a color combo similar to gatekeeper would look nice as well at vf

I think Valleyfair's next coaster could possibly be red because that seems to be a popular color choice among Cedar Fair parks, but as long as it's a fun ride, I honestly don't care what color it is.

We did... But then they painted the corkscrew. It needed to be painted though, so no complaints there. Purple and black would be cool, but I bet I am in the minority of that opinion. Also if white is involved in the coasters color scheme, I would much prefer to see it as the track instead of the supports, like with Afterburn. I also would like that color scheme. Does having High Roller decrease our chance of getting white in our color scheme?

I wouldn't think so.

Couldn't agree more.

I will say that I love Gatekeeper's color scheme.

I wouldn't mind the new coaster having a color scheme like ripide. Maybe a teal/aqua train with an orange-ish track. Ugh riptide...not one of my favorite rides at the park but there is almost never a line so your guaranteed on right away.

Then I am in the minority with you. Purple and Black would look pretty sweet. Have the trains be the same colors with some added silver to offset them from the track and supports and I think you would have one sharp looking coaster. And since High Roller is a classic white woodie I don't think it would have any effects on decision making for the color of a steel track. But then again I don't make these type of decisions so who knows. Like VF15 says, in the end I don't care what color it is...just bring the park a new coaster.

Looks like Power Tower is testing today.

And Riptide. And Xtreme Swing. The park is starting to come alive again

By 2020, I think that we can definitely expect a new inverted coaster, dark ride, major new flat and a much nicer waterpark!

Since Valleyfair floods so frequently, I could see the dark ride being themed to a river monster or something along those lines...

Dorney Park removed their Top Spin earlier this offseason, so it's definitely possible that RipTide might be on its way out in the next 5 years or so. Plus, Top Spins have their fair share of reliability problems (RipTide didn't open until June last season), and I've never seen it have more than a three-cycle wait.

I had job training today and I saw quite a few rides testing today. It gets me excited for this season!

Just throwing this out. This is not official but maybe a sign. Has everyone seen the Valleyfair facebook home page lately? There is a new pic of a fairy land type of Valleyfair that looks pretty cool. You can go through it and see Power Tower, Wild Thing, Steel Venom (Wicked Twister), Renegade, Extreme Swing, etc. and then on the far left is a purple and white roller coaster with what looks to be an inversion. What is that? Could they be dropping a hint? Hmmm?????

Thoughts anybody.

P.S. I have not heard from Valleyfair about a coaster craze event yet but I am checking with them a couple of time a week.
