dippindotsguy8 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I would hope Raging Rapids never leaves. Those are relatively rare, and it's one of my favorite things at the park. Hurricane Falls, I could personally care less, but I don't think it would leave. It's too much of a waterpark standard, and has one of the longest waits on hot days.

I would really want Raging Rapids stays, the unpredictable nature of the ride is what makes it unique. I wouldn't mind them taking out the old speed slides either. Raging Rapids was closed for a majority of last year though.

ACES Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Would Valleyfair consider open a week before Mother's Day and the fishing opener? I'd like Valleyfair to change there opening day. They always have open on Mother's Day weekend crowds are usually light to because of the fishing opener to.
GCI Wooden Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 crowds are usually light to because of the fishing opener to. That would make them want to open the park, light crowds! Valleyfair opens next week, they aren't going to change their opening day at the last minute. Patience.
VF15 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I know the panic falls slides could be going soon, but would they keep the river rapids ride and the family raft ride? They all branch off from the same queue, so I don't know what to think. I think the Panic Falls slide complex and the old Splash Station will be the only attractions removed for the next waterpark expansion, everything else can stay.

It would be very difficult for managers to last minute schedule a couple hundred employees short notice.
baileybrucem Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I'd like Valleyfair to change their opening day. Fixed lol

I doubt they change their opening date anytime soon the third weekend in may makes perfect sense due to high schools getting out in june and college students ending that week, I could see them going to weekend only operations for the first two weekends in may

yogibrain Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Anyone else going this Sunday for the season pass event? This is my second year as a pass holder and was wondering if they have done this before and if so what is the turn out like with only a 4hours Window? Sent from my C6916 using Forum Fiend v1.2.7.
VF15 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 ^ I'm not aware of a passholder event on Sunday. Where did you hear this?

What are you talking about? Where did you hear this? If this is actually happening, I'm way out of the loop.
yogibrain Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 there was an email sent out, you had to rsvp back to the event Sent from my C6916 using Forum Fiend v1.2.7.

yogibrain Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 for four hours and a week early, I already assumed it would be light crowds but now realizing not everyone saw/received the email tells me the park may be even more wide open Sent from my C6916 using Forum Fiend v1.2.7.
VF15 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 It's nice that Valleyfair is holding this event, but I'm probably going to wait and go on Opening Weekend because the forecast for Sunday does not look good (90% chance of rain).

I personally would go and hope for the best. It shouldn't be crowded the way opening weekend would be, and at least at VF, they seem to have a pretty loose rain policy (unlike Cedar Point, Knott's, and some others). Most rides only shut down for lightning or excessively high rains. Unless of course you just don't want to be in bad weather, which is totally understandable! I'm just saying I wouldn't worry about closed rides ruining the experience
VF15 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 ^ Yep, I prefer not to ride coasters when it's raining. I've ridden Corkscrew in the rain, and it hurts like heck. Plus, I live more than an hour away from the park, and it would be a waste of my time if the rides are closed.
yogibrain Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I'm going either way because that's what I have planned. Summer can't come.soon enough and if you have the all Season Dining you can also use it during the event so we'll get a meal out of the thing alongside as many rides we can cram into four hours.
Coaster Curt Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I would head out to the event but my first ride will be either on Diamondback or Banshee this coming week, can't decide. I know a great ride on Renegade would be great but will hold out till Weds next week
