Bubba Z Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I just clicked on RCDB and this came up Coaster: Sierra Tonante Park: Mirabilandia Looks like I'm going on the Spain/Italy trip. Waits for flyer!
robbalvey Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Sounds decent. Spending an extra $5 or so to send an eCheck is cheaper for me than sending a letter certified via USPS (Call me paranoid, but I don't like sending huge sums of money through a third party with such a high chance for incompetence along the way). Although sending something to us certified mail actually takes LONGER to get to us. The reason? Since we both work during the day, we're never home when they are delivered. And we also usually get home AFTER the post office is closed, so that envelope will usually sit at the post office for several days (even been weeks sometimes if we're on a trip) before we can pick it up. We usually perfer people NOT to send us stuff via methods that require us to pick it up at the post office. Our local post office also never seems to have a line less than 30 to 40 minutes, which is equally as frustrating and a total waste of our time. --Robb "It's probably safer sitting in our mail box than it is in a pile of stuff at the post office anyway" Alvey
CaseyFish Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I didn't know you had an onride pic of us.... Yeah....anyone can keep up with me in pubs. It's just going the long haul that is the problem. I can stay up all night and drink....no problem for others...esspecially when I fall asleep in the pubs huh Lou:) I did this several times on the trip pretty funny stuff. Or I can just slow down depends on what mood I am in:) Casey"the more fangirls the better YEAH" Childers
roasted_marshmallow Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Oh man, I hope I can get in on the mid-west one. I really hope I'll have enough money to put my deposit down quickly... any idea what the deposit would be?
coaster05 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 My wife and I are sure things for Spain and our second TPR trip. For a couple of those people worried about locals on the midwest trip, like Parktrips said these trips are as much about the people as the parks. I have been to every park on the midwest tour, yet we may still show up for the trip because the trip experience flat out rules. All I can say is if the dates work and the price is right get your money in!!
ParkTrips Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 edit - crap, damn you Rich! ^^ That's only been asked about half a dozen times... and it was covered in the very first post. Please do not ask us about price, parks, or other details yet as we just don't have enough confirmed. Can I come?
ELZ Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 dude this europe trip is gonna be sweet...i went to the WB Park in Spain about 3 years ago...would love to go again and meet all you Theme Park Review people! Will be great!
coaster05 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I will tell you what Joe these people asking the same stinking question 20 times is about driving me nuts. As I tell my fifth graders "try reading you will be amazed at the answers you can find" From now on asking anything about the money should result in an additional fee to buy treats for the rest of the people on the trip who have to put up with you. darklingscribe Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I have a request for the midwest trip. After riding Speed at Oakwood during the UK trip I have been craving more Gerstlauer Euro-Fighters. If possible can we make a trip down to Dollywood? If not I'll probably be making a trip down there a week before the midwest trip starts. For those yet to experience a TPR trip be ready to have fun, make fun of Barry, and always be on time! If Robb an Elissa tell you to meet at the bus at exactly 6:00am be there or be forced to hire a cab to take you to the next park. If you have a hard time forcing yourself to wake up early, you will be in trouble.
SharkTums Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Dollywood will not be on the Midwest Tour. I'm not even going to address the 'early wake up' stuff. If you can't be ontime, you shouldn't go on any organized tour.
Reon Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Blarg! I probabbly have to be back in school around the 11th of August (I am this year.) Is there any possible way to stick around for a large portion of the Midwest trip, then ditch for the last few days?
SharkTums Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Each Trip is an all or nothing thing. For example, on the UK trip we had someone that had a work engagement that came up a few weeks before the tour. He missed the first two days and met up with us at Alton Towers. There is no discount for missing part of the tour, and you are responsible either meeting up with us where we are, or leaving if you duck out early. Like others have posted, if you can't do the entire tour, it might be nice to let someone else who can have the spot. (If there is a waitlist)
ParkTrips Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Grrrr!! Read the fucking thread!!! You cannot do "half the trip." Well techincally I guess you could, but you would have to pay for the whole trip. - Joe, if I were Robb or Elissa, I'd lock the thread to benefit my personal health and sanity
roasted_marshmallow Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 edit - crap, damn you Rich! ^^ That's only been asked about half a dozen times... and it was covered in the very first post. Please do not ask us about price, parks, or other details yet as we just don't have enough confirmed. Can I come? Well actually, I wasn't asking what the total price was, just what the deposit would be. If it's a nice round number like $100, that's easy to say, if it's a % of the total cost, then yeah, they wouldn't be able to tell me.
Wes Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 "How much is the trip going to cost?" is gonna become the annoying question of the thread like "Does anyone know when the announcement is going to be? Or what kind of coaster it is?" was in the initial Tatsu thread. Sooooo...how much is it going to cost?
methylene Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 My wife, brother-in-law, and I will be doing a Southern US tour in early July next year (same time as Spain trip) and you can meet us @ Dollywood if you want, darklingscribe. Matt
SharkTums Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 TENTATIVE!!!! Depending on the final costs, and which trip it is, initial deposits will be between $150 - $300.
JimmyBo Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Count me in for the Spain/Italy trip. The B.O.T.B.C. will be represented well on that trip and if Tommy and James can't make that one, I will definitely buy a megaphone before the trip so we can yell at the people in the front again. ANd if Robb's mic doesn't work again, we'll just yell at him the entire time. Midwest is a no go for me since I've been to almost all those parks and want other peeps to enjoy them. Might meet up with ya'll somewhere just so I can see all of Casey's fangirls. Japan is a maybe, depends if work is nice to me and I can trust the place wont burn down if I'm gone for that long Jim "B.O.T.B.C. 4 EVA" Williams

Reon Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Oh well. It's just marching band..I can always just learn my part later or something... Actually, the 13th is a monday, correct? Chances are, that'll be the day I go back, so I'm in no danger, so long as the last day doesn't drag on.
methylene Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 TENTATIVE!!!! Depending on the final costs, and which trip it is, initial deposits will be between $150 - $300. I'm still amazed that people interested in such details haven't looked at the UK trip to approximate their answers. I mean, pretty much every question has already been spelled out at least once, and the answers this time aren't likely to be all that different. C'est la vie, I suppose. Matt
benzo41190 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I will be doing that Midwest trip!!! Now to send in the deposit check ASAP...when anounced. Hmmmm.....Avalanche ERT will be interesting
roasted_marshmallow Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 TENTATIVE!!!! Depending on the final costs, and which trip it is, initial deposits will be between $150 - $300. Thank you! I'll plan to save up $500 then just in case I decide I'd rather go to Japan and costs are a little higher than expected. You guys truely do rock. If I ever get my themepark off the ground, I'll fly you in for the opening ceremony and sit you at the front of the first ever ride.
SharkTums Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 ^^Why would you assume that we'll have Avalanche ERT? Seriously, Perks will be announced MUCH closer to the trip. A lot of our UK perks didn't come up until about 4 weeks before the actual trip. Thinking about it, I'd much rather get ERT at Mt. Olympus than Timber Falls! Please do not sign up for ANY of our trips for ERT, as that is NEVER confirmed. Yes we received LOTS for the UK trip, but it is NEVER GUARANTEED.
