robbalvey
I've always been of the mind that if I see someone leave the line - especially if it's a little kid to go to the bathroom, then come back in I don't have a problem with it. That's the problem, though. It *IS* line cutting. And because some people allow this sort of thing and others don't is why it's such a problem. I mean, personally I would love to be able to have someone hold my spot in line while I go do something else, then come back later when they have moved up. If you see a long line, take care of your business BEFORE you get in line. That includes... - Getting your group together - Going to the bathroom - Getting something to drink - Getting something to eat - Putting your crap in a locker - Etc, etc, etc.... I just hate it when you get into a line and you're only like 20 feet in and someone's like, "Oh, I just need to meet up with my group." and I'm all "You guys *JUST* got in line!!! Couldn't you have all waited at the front to get your group together before getting in line? Or how about this idea...how about if your party comes BACK in the line to meet with you...it's not like they have been waiting that long." It just pisses me off to no end that people think it's "ok" to cut in line for whatever reason they think is justified but in reality there is *NO* reason that anyone should have to be allowed to cut in line...EVER! And why don't parks enforce this rule more? I've seen more people get hurt because of arguments and fights that break out over line jumping than I've seen people getting hit with flying cameras on rides.... Think about it. /End Rant.... --Robb

ZeroG001
I agree that line jumping of ANY kind should not be allowed. When I was at the park earlier this month in line for Goliath, we waited over an hour, and these two kids kept coming back and forth to the people in front of us asking "How much longer until you get the the front?" and "We just rode the swings like 20 times!" and when we were one train away from getting on they come back and ask if they can cut us to get on the same train as the people waiting for them! The parks should really enforce the line jumping rules, like it says on the maps.

I was actually surprised and pleased to see the employees enforcing the line jumping rule at Canada's Wonderland during their Season Pass Sneak Peek night. While they couldn't do much about the line as it extended past the "official" queue, as soon as the official queue started they had an employee turning people away when they tried to enter to join their group who had already passed that point. I don't understand why these people proceed to argue with the employee. You can see the signs posted everywhere, the rule is stated in the park maps. Why any one would expect to just stroll to the front of the line after I have been waiting an hour an a half (after others in their group have waited 2 hours!!!) is beyond me. Have some respect, have respect for the others in your group even.

Robb is wise. And I agree with this. There is no reason to cut in line. Get your act together before you get in line. And why don't parks enforce this rule more? I've seen more people get hurt because of arguments and fights that break out over line jumping than I've seen people getting hit with flying cameras on rides.... Again, Robb is wise. I don't understand why parks don't make this a bigger priority. This is a huge customer satisfaction issue, and something that really annoys people. And I have been shocked that there has not been a death related to a line jumping incident. Only a matter of time, I suppose, unless parks take their customers' safety seriously, and really start cracking down on this crap. dt
AllenA07
^Actually wasn't there a stabbing in the Batman line over somebody cutting several years back? I can't recall if the stabbing lead to death, however it sure did not make SFMM look good.

ghost007jas
I'm not saying that someone leaving line to go to the bathroom and coming back in isn't line cutting, but I'm certainly not going to stop said person. But then, I don't think it's a park guests - enthusiast or not - place to stop line cutters. The best thing to do is report the guest to park security, it's because people try to handle the problem themselves that fights get started. wrs28330
They're not even updating the stunt show this year. Lame. Okay, so I'll start by off by saying that I am probably taking this personally, considering I am one of the Stage Managers of the Batman Begins Stunt Show. Me speaking as an employee: SO... Before calling this "Lame", why don't you take a minute and think about why we are not updating the show this year: The show always opens as close to Memorial Day weekend as possible. The first year of Batman Begins, the show opened on June 24th. That was about a month of the show that was lost because they held the opening day until after the movie premier. So, the show only ran for 4.25 months. Me speaking as a TPR member: Dark Knight the movie opens July 18th. So IF the new show was to be Dark Knight, (which nothing has been announced as to what the new show will be), it would only run for 3.5 months. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA, THEY SHOULD HAVE A SHORTER SHOW RUN! And it costs a TON of money to install a new set. The last Batman show played for 9 years, and the one before that was 12 years. They are crazy enough for using this show for only 4 years. I think you can wait another year. Enjoy the new movie, and then next season you can see the show. I agree, it's not exactly cheap to go in and change the entire set. So don't go and complain about it, I could think of many other things to put that money towards. I hate it when people complain after all the effort management has put into improving the park recently. It comes off as being extremely rude and ungrateful. Just be glad they're even considering a new show, instead of letting it be for 9-12 years.
Bolliger&Mabillard
Does anybody know if they will add flash pass to X2? X2 is scheduled to be a flashpass attraction. However it is based on three train operation. For those who can remember X's first peak season was the only season it accepted flashpass, because the lines got equal to the stand-by line. I know that people still buy flashpasses thinking that they're good for Deja Vu and X.
iamscottevil
My season pass came with a coupon for entrance to the x2 flashpass line. They're numbered and you need to show your pass to use it. Still, it was a nice bonus even though I didn't get a season pass sports bottle. The park is looking okay, but I still say it's 1% of what it was in the late 70's. The park was amazing and now it's just kinda nice. More coasters though. I guess you trade beauty for track.
VivaLaVibora
I wish I could see a Batman stunt show again. Last year's show wasn't that great (Operational Spygirl). Lucky ducks!
Bolliger&Mabillard
I never saw the old batman stunt show, but I hear it had a lot more dialogue to it. I'm not a big fan of the whole "Batman Begins" moniker. The Tim Burton rendition of Batman is timeless, so I look at "Dark Knight" being cool, but I think they should start from scratch in a new area rather than revamping the current Gotham City. RIP Psyclone
The Batman stunt show at Mystic Lake perhaps had a larger set? Well, I was 12 years old, so I probably liked it more then than if I could see the same show now.

It was a criticism of Warner Bros. for not taking advantage of a marketing opportunity. The entertainment crew does a great job of putting on that show, no question. Nowhere did I call the current show lame, in fact, it has to be one of the better productions you can find at a Theme Park. There's no blame on Six Flags here, they're simply working with what Warner is willing to give them. I'm simply saying I wish Warner would give them more. I just think in this age of media and advertising and short attention spans, it wouldn't hurt to have thousands of people reminded that there's a new movie coming out. Yea, it's expensive, but if you sell the idea to Warner correctly, they'd be all over having thousands of people having their movie franchise hammered into their heads.[/b]

The batman begins show is just horrid. There we go... I know someone that worked for the show too, so I do know the amount of effort that goes into a show, especially out in the 100 degree Valencia sun during the summer. But he wouldn't be offended if he heard that, because he knows how sub par the show is.

bflag
I know sometimes they hand out tickets with numbers on them to prevent line cutters whether it works or not I don't really know but I think it definitely detours people from cutting. In my opinion this is something they should consider full time for every ride. I HATE LINE CUTTERS!!!

And then if you even dare suggest that all of a sudden YOU are the bad guy. IMO, it's perfectly ok to say something "politely" to a line cutter. 99% of the time they'll just ignore you, or be rude to you, because after all, if someone is going to be doing something rude like line cutting in the first place, chances are it won't stop there. But I think it's perfectly acceptable to suggest something like "Maybe your group could move back with you so that you're not cutting in front of everyone?" and leave it at that. I would never try to stop, nor do I reccomend anyone trying to stop a line cutter with any more effort than that. --Robb
hemmy
Usually in my experience large groups, often people in groups of 50+ from other countries cut in line with no abandon, but if you and the people with you just stand in the line and don't let them through it seems to work
NYTrojan
Anybody see this? http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_magic_mountain.htm Scroll down to the X2 section. Some pics with them testing a fireball effect. If they go this route it would be pretty intense: a big fireball synchronized with the train blasting out as you fly by. AllenA07
As Lance says on there, it'll be interesting to see if SFMM does add that effect how long they'll keep running it for. I imagine it is an expensive (though cool) effect to maintain.
NYTrojan
Strikes me as the kind of thing where, even if they DID go with it, you'd be lucky if it lasted the summer. Reminds me of the line effects for Batman. Of course, those fell apart under old management so you never know... but I'm just not sure if they're going to be willing to shell out a constant cost like this for a ride that is already as popular as anything can get in the park.
