WFChris
I seem to be in the minority in that I think that whether the trains duel or not won't have an impact on the ride. Sure, the high five might be cool, but it honestly just seems like a gimick to be seen from the parking lot to me. If there is any kind of effort to sync up the trains on the lifts it will definitely be automated a la Dueling Dragons. It seems most likely to me that either there will be no syncing after the first summer, or there will be a programmed system, but the MM ops will find some way to be even slower than the system allows for... You really think the high five is just a parking lot spectacle gimmick? I'd ride anything just for the chance to high five the riders of the train I'm racing with. That's exciting. To be clear, you will still be several feet away from the other train. You will not be able to actually hi-five anybody.

rcdude
Ops are bad. I'll just say I've never seen stackless 2 train ops before, and I've never seen 3 train ops. Ever. What I find interesting is that even though SFMM's operations are poor compared to other major parks, they are actually better than average for the Six Flags chain. Two trains without stacking used to happen frequently and still does if a ride has a good crew (in fact, I've seen it on every coaster except Batman and Tatsu). As far as 3 trains goes, I know the park used to do it but I've heard they don't anymore because the capacity gain from the third train doesn't justify the added maintenance cost. Considering other Six Flags parks double stack with three train operation, I don't fault SFMM for this decision. The biggest issue I have with SFMM's operations is lack of consistency: For any given ride, you can go one day and the crew will hit the clock every cycle, then on your next visit the average dispatch time is 4+ minutes. There are some good crews there, but there are also some that would be considered unacceptable by the standards of any other chain. As for Twisted Colossus dueling, every two-tracked coaster I've been on was improved when racing/dueling. Depending on the ride, it could be a minor improvement (ex: American Eagle, Rolling Thunder) or a major one (ex: Lightning Racer, Racer, Thunder Road). Given that Twisted Colossus is designed to duel, I've got a feeling it will duel as much as possible, and it will probably feel like something is missing when it doesn't. I thought somewhere it was stated that a computer would control syncing on the lift and unless only one train was running you would still duel for at least half the ride, so I've got a feeling all this debate and worry is for naught. Either way, I'm sure it will be one of the park's top two rides even if dueling doesn't happen for some reason.
Rotura Violenta
The hi-five element has zero appeal for me personally—I think it actually looks kind of lame. But the moments where the tracks cross over each other look kind of fun. Lightning Racer is probably one of the better dueling coasters I've ridden, but that ride's excellent in other areas too; the dueling simply adds to the experience. With this, because the tracks never really depart and reconvene like they do on LR, I suspect that the dueling will be a better off-ride spectacle than on. Mater
I think seeing blue spin around you right before the green double-up will be really cool looking.
Manic Monte
I haven't found the operations at SFMM to be that bad. Just terribly inconsistent. With some exceptions obviously, I think the park has gotten better in the last year or so. Twisted Colossus is the park's new showpiece. It will run well for the first few years. Prepare to see that new fresh white paint on the ride to be colored brown thanks to how much this thing is going to make me hurl.

tatsu_dude
About ops, the only other SF parks I've been to are SFFT and SFDK, and both had better ops IMO than SFMM, especially SFFT. I don't have any big problem with no three train ops, but what I am bothered by is when a ride capable of running three trains is operating wih just one. Scream is the biggest culprit of this. About TC, if any element is going to be cool due to dueling, it's gonna be the top gun stall. That is the only real racing/dueling coaster innovation I see this making. To me, it's a kick ass RMC that you happen the get to ride twice, and the dueling may or may not add to that. Of course come opening day I could completely change this opinion. Fire2box
Well, Node uploaded the video of magic mountain and their unofficial rollercoaster day. Seems like they didn't attract too many people since they announced it only like two days before their "event." No idea why Sam kept wearing his hat on the B&M roller coasters. He lost it on Scream as seen in the video, but some GP caught it.
singforfood
Airtime exists wether or not your lapbar is down tight against you. After an excruciating ride on Bizarro this summer, I beg to differ. My butt was firmly in my seat the whole time, and my thighs were throbbing. The ride op literally did a physical wind up before pushing the bar down... leaned back, and then shoved using his body weight.

I've been stapled into IRat pretty harshly but nothing like that, though I'm a really skinny guy. Hey, the MM ops won't care enough about their jobs to staple you in anyway! WFChris
I got stapled on Scream! And then we sat on the brake run for 3 minutes on 2 train operation. There was no way I could Scream! because I was too busy trying to Breathe!
