^Actually Ninja sports white supports and Big Bad Wolf's were black.

It don't matter if they're black or white.

I'm guessing that BBW still had a closer color scheme than XLR8 did at the time.

And by the way, the following was posted on twitter from SFMM

"SixFlagsMM #in2010 @SixFlagsMM will open the 17th Coaster in between Deja Vu & Johnny Rockets! By the way, its coming from Six Flags New Orleans!"

Hmmm ... I wonder ... heh

Interesting...

Awwwwwwww, not a Roller Skater! I think SFMM really needs a family sized ride in the 50 foot range, I guess I'm too young to be a parent, but that's really what they're missing the most, a not too thrilling, yet smooth and fun ride. But, I trust management knows what they're doing...

^Maybe Six Flags is trying to confuse everyone and they actually got the wild mouse from Six Flags New Orleans.

No, that's not very likely. I think it's pretty much confirmed at this point what the new coaster will be. Now we just need an official announcement so we know if it will be Mr. Six themed or not.

You got me to laugh with that.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. But somehow, I don't see it happening.

Don't tell me they're going to try and cram MegaZeph into that spot!

I didn't even think of a wild mouse. But not having been to SFNO, I wouldn't have known they had one. Of course, I could have checked RCDB, too.

Now I wonder if it'll run two trains (as I've seen on Gadget's Go Coaster) or just one.

Even though Gadget's Go Coaster has two trains, I'm pretty sure they can only run one train at a time. I don't think the brakes at the end of the ride are enough to fully stop the train, and even if they are I don't think it has enough of a slope to return to the station once the brakes release. However, if SFMM is somehow able to get the dispatch intervals I've seen on Gadget's Go Coaster (approximately 30 seconds), the ride would have a higher capacity than its neighbor Deja Vu (which statistically has a higher hourly capacity, although I've never seen a dispatch interval of less than a minute and a half for that ride).

Only Disney does those custom changes to the Vekomas like get a second train so I doubt the SFMM coaster would have more than just one train.

I had fun on a rollerskater at SFKK, Gadget's Go Coaster, Woodie Woodpecker, Barnstormer but by the time I rode the Anthill Express at Wild Adventures and Hang Ten I started to get bored with the ride.

^ And Universal.

Flying Unicorn/whatever-the-hell-it's-going-to-be-called-now has (and runs) two trains.

I think you might be confusing Go Coaster with Barnstormer at MK as it runs two trains. Naturally it stacks every cycle when running both.

^ I've been at Disneyland when Gadget ran two trains, so I've seen it firsthand.

But I agree that SFMM will most likely run theirs with only one train. What I'm waiting for next is what name they're going to give it, and what color it'll be painted, if it is repainted.

I was just wondering because Barnstomer, although similar, isn't an exact mirror clone of Go Coaster. There is an extra turn at the end and a *seemingly* longer brake run that aligns directly with the station.

From what I have seen on other coasters with tire drive lifts immediately after the station, the train can't advance into the station until the previous train has cleared the lift for rollback protection.

When Go Coaster runs two trains, how do they get around that? Are there some brakes/anti-rollbacks on the lift I forgot about? Barnstormer has a chain lift if I remember correctly.

Posted

The lift acts as a block zone.

I've seen it myself several times, they will not allow the train to crest the lift until the 2nd train is fully into the station.

Personally I've stopped on the lift a few times if there's a delay in getting the train into the station.

It's not a big deal, like others have said Roller Skaters can be programmed to run two trains with no additional track. I believe the new one in India was programmed that way as well for 'future' use.

There is no way Magic's will run two trains.

^^The Barnstormer can run two trains (and it actually works pretty well for such a small layout) with one train in the station while another train is going through the short course of the ride. In the slowest of circumstances, the second train sits behind the station until the first train dispatches, but typically the crews are very good at keeping both trains moving as consistantly as possible.

Posted

^I agree, the Barnstormer crew always seems fantastic!

Even on MNSSHP nights with children in costumes, adults taking pictures, having to height check the little ones, they were booking it! And having a good time and hi-fiving the kids too!

Sorry for the off-topic there, but yeah, two trains not stacking on a roller skater is pretty damn impressive!

Again, we won't be seeing that at SFMM!

^^ Remember, too, that Barnstormer and Gadget's Go Coaster run under Disney operation. That would explain the efficient operation.

I know a big problem with tire lifts are rollbacks when wet. Disney has the tire lift on Barnstormer, but it has brakes to catch the train in the event of a roll back so the second train is safe. I think no anti rollback with a two train operation is tempting the odds of a collision.
