Heading to the park for the first time tomorrow - what are crowds like at the moment? Should I plan to buy a Flash pass?

Well school is out in most areas so expect it to be busy! Hopefully SFMM has the 2 trains operations on all coasters. I would say buy a flash pass because you never know what you might be up against. Have fun……………!

^^ busy but not ridiculous. As of about an hour ago they were about an hour at longest. Since it's your first time to the park a flash pass might make things more comfortable, I wouldnt bother with the gold or platinum though regular should be sufficient. If you're solo or in a small group and don't mind being split up you can take advantage of the single rider lines on Lex Luthor, Green Lantern, and Riddler's Revenge to all but eliminate waits for those three rides. (They exist on Viper and Revolution too but theres rarely any line for either of those)

If you need details on the single rider lines, PM me.

If you have an iPhone, download the RideHopper app, you can get and submit user submitted wait times.

Cheers thanks. I think we might head to X2 during the passholder early entry then grab a Flash pass for the rest. Just two of us so single rider will definitely be an option for Lex Luthor.

Are there plenty of single-use lockers around the park? I find those more convenient than stashing my camera in an all-day locker.

Also just realised I'll hit coaster #150 at some point tomorrow, is Tatsu a good choice?

Some of the single use ones have been removed (I know Viper's were recently) but they now have electronic fluffy fluffy bunnies so that you can purchase one once and then without paying again you can move your stuff to a new location by entering a code. There definitely are some single use units left, particularly for the coasters that need them the most such as X2..I know off the top of my head that Riddler's and Batman still have their single use FFB's.

Riddlers has been running exceptionally well lately so it probably wont have a big line but in addition to LL, Green Lantern is a great one to use the single rider line on if you know where to find it. You walk up the exit and when you get to the elevator go up the stairs directly to it's left (if youre facing the elevator). You'll be directly behind the dispatching ride operator so politely make sure the ride operator knows you're there and they'll put you in the next empty seat.

Lex Luthor's Single Rider line is not obvious either, when you walk up the exit there's a lane to your left just before the actual tower, the single rider sign will either be backwards and blocking the lane if they arent using it, or will be displayed if they are. Because of the way they load the gondolas you can still end up waiting 10-15 minutes here (they dont always fill them), so if the normal line is short you might as well just go it the normal route.

Tatsu would be an excellent choice for your #150 as would X2. If you want you can do X2 in the afternoon as the line almost always dies down to nothing around 4pm or so as long as they're running both trains. Another idea would be Revolution; although it's not extreme anymore it's historic so that's kind of appropriate.

SFMM's next coaster will be so short the entire POV could be on a Vine.

You're giving SFMM too much credit. I doubt their PR team knows how to use Vine.

I just went to the park during the recent spring break, and found a pretty good way to get a bunch of rides in before the crowds necessitate a Flash Pass (learned this strategy on here). As you're thinking of doing, head to X2 first during the early entry. Take a jog there to be first on the ride (they assign seats, so running can assure you a front row seat on the first train of the day). After you get off, smile smugly to yourself as you pass the now frighteningly long line. Skip Tatsu (you'll walk right by it) and head to the back of the park. There, you can ride Lex Luthor, Batman, Riddler's Revenge, and Green Lantern many times over. It takes at least an hour for the crowds to work their way to the back of the park, so you can have it to yourself for a while. This worked beautifully for me, and I was there on a busy day. Have fun! And, say hi to X2 for me. It might be a glorified gimmick, but I'm a total sucker for that first drop and raven turn.

Coming up and over that loop looks like amazingly delicious painful airtime (nice) and then into brakes (terrible and possibly painful or shin smashing). How long do you think you'll sit on that brake run in that Cali sunshine waiting for the next train to move out of the station?

So this scenario is during the two week period where they run more than one train?

Is it just me or does it seem like there could only be little, if any at all, airtime over the top hat? I'm just going to hope that this is just a slower testing speed, which it most likely is. I just hope in time it does speed up and SFMM doesn't pull an SFMM and take away potential with a ride that could possibly deliver.

They most likely will "pull an SFMM," after all, they are SFMM....

Kinda dig all the hang time in the loop. Hope that stays like that.

While that would be cool you can't forget that it won't be very forceful through the turn after the loop and diving loop. I think it will probably go faster when it opens so that it provides some hangtime while being intense after the loop at the same time and, obviously, the faster it goes through the top hat the more airtime it will have.
