live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 So yesterday to celebrate my store/location's 17th anniversary, my boss took everyone at my work that had worked a year or more to Islands of Adventure. This has been a tradition for many years. It was a crazy day! We had so much fun! Just the 90 minute bus ride on I-4 from Tampa Bay to IOA was a blast! At IOA we all had fun. It was a thousand degrees out but we still had a bonzer day! I have been to IOA a gazillion times so I went to just hang out with everyone. I also got to ride the new The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train. I had been waiting like most since the park opened in 1999 to ride it, so I couldn't wait. We waited about 20 minutes. The ride was cute and fun, the train picks up speed and goes through a few nice animated scenes. It was a lot shorter than I expected. Probally lasted around 2 minutes. When facing the loading area we went on the right side. I believe we went through one different scene than the other side. At the end we exited on the other side of the loading station. Are there 2 different tracks? Overall I think it is a cute ride, great for those under 10, which it is meant for. I would do it again if it is a 10 minute wait or less. I have to give it up to the ride op's they had a lot of energy getting the riders ready to choo-choo! So here are my pics from my crazy day at IOA: --Eric J Did I mention how much fun the bus ride was? Heather is getting the a Brian boob credit! Let the boob credit games begin! With my friend Kristal, I'm sportin' my cool TPR UK tour shirt. These co-worker peeps are ready for our trip to IOA! Some co-worker hotties. My co-workers rock! More credits! The Golden Gouchos Awards were given out. (Gouchos=our steak knives)
jamesdillaman Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Wow, wish I worked with some of them peeps. Kentucky (where I work) isn't exactly brimming with attractive people... oh well. -James Dillaman
thefitness Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 No pictures from the park? yes there are two different tracks purple and green
coaster1 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I'm moving and coming to work with you .. daaaaaaaaamn
Imhotep Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Lucky!!! Did you earn any credits on the bus ride?? giggity!!
BeemerBoy Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 No pictures from the park? Hmm, I'm guessing many won't mind not seeing IOA for the 139,547th time after that, um, entertaining bus ride. I think the return trip after a couple hours at Margaritaville would be more enticing to many members in here. (assuming it was, for the most part, an over 21 crowd ) And Eric, you may also be asked to head up the new TPR member recruitment division in hopes of a "girls of TPR calendar."
live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 We finally arrive at Universal Orlando! We were a very friendly group! And it's only 11:00am! I love my co-workers! Our crazy group! Finally at IOA!
live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 At IOA Heather H. seems to really like Dr. Banner! Whoa-We're in 3-D! Ok so we're suckers for a cute baby! Little Kylie is pretty cute and loves IOA! Even us restaurant peeps got to eat! What up peeps in line for Hulk!
live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 More pics: Shawn really likes his new Lost Continent female friend! Everyone looks super scared! Wait till they almost get attacked by the T-rex! Ken, Sara, Amy and Shawn are ready to see some dinos on the Jurassic Park River Adventure. We all want to get wet now! Even though it was a thousand degrees we all had fun in the super long Popeye line. And yeah we were THAT super excited group that I usually hate when waiting with in a long line! But when you're apart of the group its a lot more fun!
live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 More Pics: Overall it is a nice family/kids ride. A random scene on top of one of the Seuss Landing buildings. You get some really nice views of the park on the train. The ride cars are really cute and they light up! Shawn, Amy and I are ready for the High In Sky Suess Trolley Train!
twistedmickey Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 This looked more like Islands of Porn. I like it
Jumboshrmp Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Yes... Great photos! I saved that Bruce Banner pic to my hard drive just in case it gets taken down... I've wanted to see someone do that in front of that sign for a long time!
Jon Sabo Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Well, so much for sexual harassment..lol I think that shows a perfect example of a good company, boss, owner and how to reward their employees for a job well-done! (Six Flags management-take note). I worked for a company in Hawaii that did a similar event every (and paid for our entire trip) year AND added bonus $$ for each employee. We even had options of what trip(s) to take-including parts of Canada. Sounds like an awesome time and looks like a great group to work with.
live2tell75 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 Final pics: Stacy and I think today rocked! Like the back of the bus on the TPR UK trip, the back of the bus to/from IOA was fun! Everyone danced the whole way home! This is what happens when you mix a great day of IOA, drinks and and fun people. One of the best bus rides ever! Daryl is my peep! Like the bus ride up, the bus ride back was just as fun!
CaseyFish Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 ^come on mate, can't you tell he works for Outback where you been down under:) Eric awesome trip report, the good ol' back of the bus crew, looks like you guys had a great time judging from the pics. Parks are always fun esspecially when you get alcohol:)
gmoney422 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 This was definitely a "Gmoney approved" Photo TR! Probably one of the best I've ever seen! Man, I gotta get some she-la's into my Photo TRs!!!
Louise Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Eric, it's like you work in The OC (the TV show, not the county) or Hollyoaks or something, where you're all ridiculously beautiful! Looks like you guys had a blast. Your TRs are always enjoyable to read, thanks for posting the pics.
live2tell75 Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 ^ Thanks Lou, I am lucky that I get to work with a great bunch of people! --Eric J
live2tell75 Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Parks are always fun esspecially when you get alcohol:) I totallay agree Casey! It was a lot of fun doing IOA with a buzz! Can you believe this was the first time I have ever had a buz at theme park. It is a totally different experience! It was nice not worring about getting on all the rides. It was a relaxed, fun day! I figured I could do this, my transportation was taken care of and I had been to IOA a gazillion times. No worries mate! --Eric
DerekRx Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 See, now thats the way to spice up a photo trip report to IOA, by adding something rarely ANY other enthusiast would include, CHICKS! Glad you had fun, Eric. That's a great reward from your boss. Our company has a picnic every year at one of the doctor's places, but I'm too busy actually enjoying the summer in theme parks to go!
live2tell75 Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 ^ Thanks Derek, for some reason the chicks seem to feel comfortable with me Thought this TR would be a treat for a lot of the fanboys! I think I work with a lot of nice shellias and blokes!
Big Mike Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Eric!!! What up my bud? Miss ya! That trip looked fantastic, UK deja vu. When I come down to visit, we have to hang with some of those hotties! Big Mike
