  1. Nice report Scott. I know how it feels to finally have a camera again! I've never tried Jones, but now I'm definitely curious. I just don't think I've ever seen it here in the south, unless I've completely overlooked it. Anyway, I think you've inspired me to post my own beverage-related random TR later.
  2. Thank you so much, Pete. Finally, a voice of reason in this thread. When you weren't busy messing with the man about coaster stats and facts, did any of you ever take the time to actually talk to him and perhaps try to learn about who he is? If so, then my apologies; but I'm guessing it's easier just to label him "creepy" and proceed to rip him apart for his love of that one particular ride. Is he a bit "different" from most of us? Perhaps he is. Has he said or done anything negative towards you? I'm guessing no. For all we know, he may even be a war veteran suffering from something we'll never fully comprehend. And to be fair, let me address what Don posted about a certain rumor. *IF* it is proven to be true, then he'd definitely be in violation of the law. However, even then, does that mean he is not deserving of some compassion? It's funny that some of you will travel the world primarily in search of every credit possible, yet overlook the fact that Knott's IS this man's world. He will never have the luxuries that many of us take for granted. But judging from what I've read, he seems to have found a certain peace in doing what he does for a living, and enjoying the one passion that, ironically all of us can identify with....a roller coaster. I can think of much worse things he could be out doing. Indeed.
  3. Yeah, I was thinking about that one too. I always did like the F1 tie in. And the color combo of silver/blue gets high marks from me, as well. Still, compared to the rest, I'd have to lean towards "honorable mention" for this one.
  4. If all you're talking about is themes, then it's simple... Best- Nemesis, BM, Hulk, DD, Kraken, Montu, Alpy, and the Batman clones. Worst - all the rest.
  5. Rather than give it it's own thread, I figured I'd post it in here for you guys. Beer for your dog: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16752671/?GT1=8921 Enjoy.
  6. You'll have to forgive me on this one. I can't view the video on the current computer I'm at, but is this the same type of technology that allows that Bear in the Big Blue House character to "speak" as well as it looks on tv?
  7. I'm still waiting for Tron: The ride. Or The Black Hole: The Ride. OR..... Pulp Fiction: The Mutha F**kin Ride Jackie Brown: The Ride Good Will Hunting: The Ride Those were all "Disney movies." Also, I'm not so quick to buy into the whole idea of Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc. being a generation behind now. Peter Pan, and Winnie the Pooh continue to have popular dark rides, and those characters haven't released anything hugely significant in decades. And really, the same could actually be said for *gasp* Mickey Mouse, if you think about it. I understand the whole idea of keeping things somewhat current, but why should there be an expiration date on past important successes of the company? The Little Mermaid dark ride that was scrapped would've been a huge success for years to come. I just don't see the need to make almost every new attraction have a Pixar basis. Wait, I just realized how lucky we were that Ben Affleck wasn't an animatronic on Armageddon:The Ride. Whew. Close one there. Eh, Pixar's not so bad afterall, I guess. EDIT: ^He beat me to the Tron thing. Nice job!
  8. Exactly. It doesn't appear to be rocket science here. There's a reason the statue is elevated and the room goes dark. How it collapses is for Wes to know, and for us to keep guessing on. Scott "although I hear Gary Sinese holds the real answer guarded in a secret vault under Mission:Space" B.
  9. Awesome when percentages add up to more then 100%. Me? Race - 100% caucasian. Ethnic background - got some Irish and German ancestors.
  10. The auditions are like a small consolation for Fox taking away Arrested Development. It helps ease the pain, if only for a little while. Then it's back to still hating Fox for taking away Arrested Development.
  11. Not alot of information to go on here, but initially I'm inclined to believe this guy's story. He was at the park with his two young children, and just so happened to be hitting on two teen girls. Yeah, seems real likely. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but perhaps these two young "women" saw enough of an opportunity to bend the truth and take somebody down for their own gain. *If* that's the case (the fact that the case was dismissed makes it a real possibility), then not only was this guy injured unnecessarily, but his reputation was damaged as well. And that's obviously much more difficult to repair than bumps and bruises. But who knows, none of us were actually there. Eh, at least Tigger wasn't invovled.
  12. That was my first guess. It didn't stop 'em from building in France.
  13. Any word on whether this one will carry onboard audio as once rumored?
  14. Hmm, it looks much better when not compressed. Oh well.
  15. Don't you mean launched Aquatrax?
  16. Proof that some things are better left untouched. Nice report Jahan.
  17. ^^ Thanks for that pic. After that, this thread should be about who's in second place.
  18. ^You forgot the blueprints, GPS coordinates, and satellite images.
  19. Don't know about you, but I still can't help but laugh a bit when I see Six Flags and theming in the same sentence. But who knows, the "Golden Kingdom," or whatever it is at GADV, actually wasn't *too* bad as judged on the Six Flags theming curve. Ok, well all except for Jay Z thumpin' on the sound system while waiting for KK.
  20. Wicked, cool, fresh? lol I'm voting: Hip-hop smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop appeal to it. I think it's technically listed as "The type that make us the best wooden coaster designers in the world." I just wish this one was closer to me.
  21. Without a doubt, it's Cedar Point. As you're approaching it on the causeway, it's the ONLY thing you're looking at, and it's easily the greatest coaster skyline anywhere in the world. Note: Greastest coaster skyline does not equal greastest coaster collection.
  22. Nope. That pos was adopted.
  23. yeah, damn the NFL too and their packers damn corporate America Might as well add the Brewers in there too then. But at least those examples are generic.
  24. ^^Band is a sport now? Amen to that. Go B's! Hmmm, my last game was college basketball, december '05 in Atlanta. My brother-in-law was in town on leave from Iraq. My wife's side of the family is huge Kentucky Wildcats fans, and they were in town. So naturally a big group of us joined Jeremy that night to watch UK crush some smaller school (North Georgia perhaps?...can't remember now). It sucks being so far away from major sports action. I just don't feel like driving an hour and a half to Atlanta unless it's a great game or special event.
  25. I think you missed the sarcasm. Anyway, I just looked over the contract he signed. It breaks down like this: Payment based on skill: $1,000,000/ year Payment based on looks: $51,000,000/year Eh, more power to him though. His salary isn't any different than some of the worthless actors that'll be living next door to him soon. Scott "somewhere, Maria Sharipova feels underpaid right now" B.
