  1. As well as their parks with potential, like SFFT and SFA. I agree. Baby steps, folks.....baby steps. Also, nowhere in the statement did it say that MM couldn't still be sold at some point in time. It's simply not included in this deal. So does this mean that we can cross off a few parks that won't be getting the New Orleans Batman clone?
  2. This is the same league that has a team named after an energy drink, right?
  3. LOL at this: Don't have to aim real high, huh?
  4. ^^^ I'm glad you changed your avatar.
  5. ^ Financially, I agree with your logic on this one, Guy. But, the one thing I can't argue with in Shapiro's grand plan is his effort. Sure, as evidenced by numerous SFMM and SFGADV TRs, the company has a LONG way to go, but in all honesty, there have been some attempts at improvements regarding their other properties. It's a long road to travel in order to turn it all around, and it certainly won't happen overnight, but short term is always about making investors happy. If they can show even marginal success towards an overall goal, then current investors, shareholders, etc. etc. might not be so quick to jump ship. Offloading some of the lesser parks is a small step towards that. Personally, I'd be looking at the way SFOT, SFNE, SFOG, SFFT, and SFA perform in the next year. To me, these are the apples of Shapiro's eyes, and if he can prove that the "family friendly atmosphere" is gradually succeeding in those parks, then he'll gain leverage to make larger improvements down the road. Oh, and I'm still not sold on the fact that Wes's dream of a pavement kingdom is completely dead either.
  6. ATTENTION ALL MAGIC MOUNTAIN EMPLOYEES: NEW TOYS ARE ON THE HORIZON!!
  7. Am I the only one who sees this ending up in someone's signature? I agree that the headless penguin should be a permanent fixture in Joe's TR's.
  8. I realize this is pretty random, but the headline to this story made me laugh. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16540961/
  9. ^ Well, that's good to hear then. Now, Disney's apology should read something like this: "We're sorry you had to learn from Tigger that you're a bunch of idiots, and your son's a wuss. Try your crap at Six Flags next time, and leave us alone. Thanks."
  10. Nah, no conspiracy theory there. It's really just simple additions to a good foundation that's made the team as good as they are this year. I think that team's had some talent for several years now, but was just missing a couple key ingredients. Let's face it, nobody's gonna win anything with Aaron Brooks.....period. Insert a really good QB (Brees), a great talent at RB to compliment an already great RB (Bush/ McCallister), and a good young coach.....bam, you have a much better, SuperBowl contender. In fact, this year's new Orleans team seems eerily similiar to New England when they rose to prominence by shocking St. Louis to start their "dynasty." Hmmm, and people still scream "conspiracy" about that too. They've got a long way to go, and a lot to prove yet, but I'm thinking their success this year is far from a fluke. EDIT: Either way, I can honestly say that this is shaping up to be one of the best playoffs in years for the NFL. There's some really interesting matchups this week. Now, if only my Phins were actually a part of it all.
  11. ^ And that's the great thing here. Tigger's "slap" may end up feeling like a tickle compared to the ridicule and possible beat downs the father is setting his son up for by pursuing this foolish suit.
  12. My favorites: The headchopper tunnel on BTMR at WDW. The great pop of airtime followed immediately by the tunnel = brilliance. Hulk. The soundtrack plays perfectly into the anticipation of one of the greatest launches around. Both tunnels of Space Mountain at WDW. They never get old for me. Voyage's triple down. In the pitch black night = priceless.
  13. Sorry Jewy, I just couldn't resist.
  14. I'm sure it seems fair to most of us in here, but that's not the path Disney wants to take. Going on the offensive would not send the right message in this case. I'm sure they're just thinking about fending off these morons, reinstating the actor, and going about their business.
  15. Or maybe they could just have the weasels from Toad Hall rub the family out before the trial. ^ I agree that this was probably just a "knee jerk" reaction. Case dismissed.
  16. Sure, if he was buried, and not cremated. And *if* he had been buried, he probably would've been rolling sometime around the point when his company decided to use the talents of that down home wholesome group Aerosmith. But yes, the amateur lighting package and cheap projections on "RSM" probably would've been frowned upon too. Scott "not that I'm really complaining though...Aerosmith rocks" B.
  17. Not make it "Rockin' Space Mountain." Period. Sure, I haven't actually put my butt in one of it's seats, but I've been around long enough and ridden enough rides to know what crap looks like. And that my friend, is crap. How do you make it better? Clone WDW's.
  18. ^ Well, I can tell you that our UPS guy has left boxes at our front door without even having the courtesy to knock or ring the doorbell first.....mind you, this is when it's pouring down rain, and the walkway to our door in uncovered. Moron. So basically, by the time I had woken up and realized it was there, it was like leaving it without the box. Oh yeah, the movie....not too bad, guys. Clever.
  19. If we could only say this about Stitch Encounter.... Peppers in space? Hmmm, at least it's not themed to High School Musical.
  20. Oh, I hear what you're saying. Yeah, it does make perfect business sense to take the deal. I'm sure any other program would love that kind of exposure. I mean, hey, why join the Big "11" when you're already given everything you need, right? I'm just saying that the deal, although the players and coaches don't decide it, just make the team that much larger a target for criticism if they continue to suck. It's alot like the last couple of years with Miami-FSU. The powers that be have decided to try and make that game a huge early season showcase showdown...even going as far as presenting it as a college monday night game. Honestly, we all know that both teams have suffered through rough times recently, and the game is not what we're accustomed to seeing from these two. Therefore, it's easy to look at the extensive exposure the game received, especially this past season, and say they're definitely not deserving of the spotlight.
  21. I wanna agree with you. I really do, man. But Basketball, soccer, hockey, etc. only matter come playoff time......and that's why most "fans" don't invest as much energy in rooting for what is really still their favorite school to root for, regardless. Football is king because every week matters for 3 months straight. You can have "off" weeks in everything else. Fans don't need to invest all their energy in every single game of the regular season for basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball, etc. And, side from that, football is just simply better. As a die hard Canes fan, I realize that we have a perennial National Championship contender in our baseball team each year. However, even when I lived down there, I never caught more than a couple games each regular season, and never "really" cared until the super regionals kicked in. And even when we've won, it's not the chest bumping parade through the streets celebration that a football championship gets. I'm guessing it may be the same for North Carolina women's soccer. I'm sure their fans care, but in the shadow of basketball....well, you know. Because you're Notre Dame. You're the Yankees of college football. Well, all except for, um, not winning a championship in ages. And as far as the whole NBC deal goes, it'd be one thing if Notre Dame was a powerhouse for all the years of that contract, but alas, you haven't been. People complain about the Yankees and Sox being shown to death on every network possible, but you know what, at least that's an example of two teams playing at the highest level. Outside of Notre Dame fans, nobody wants to watch an overrated team consistently take up a time slot each saturday afternoon when most of us know there's probably a better game to watch somewhere else. I'm not trying to personally bash you here, bro. I applaud your undying love for your team. I'm just giving you a few reasons why it's so easy to hate Notre Dame. I can't argue with that. I had several good friends from high school who went on to play football at Notre Dame, and each one of them were classy individuals who had nothing but praise for the way they were taught to conduct themselves on and off the field.
  22. Actually, if we're talking about SF, then no, I really wouldn't be. But I do like the idea of stealth shooting, and better yet, the idea that maybe some supervisors do read the boards. If any good can come from it, then I'll all for it. Scott "I still say good luck, though" B.
  23. Yep, same here. And that goes for Overhaulin' too. For one thing, I just couldn't see myself using an overhauled Foose creation as my everyday ride. Lord knows, with my luck, it'd be totaled the very next day.
  24. Well, perhaps it's just another wild rumor, but I do remember reading somewhere a while back that certain other animatronic characters may come into play. If that holds true, then it will certainly be another way to promote the series. And even if it doesn't, c'mon, really, were talking about Disney here. Is there really anyway that they won't take the opportunity to showcase their cashcow? Heck, I'd be surprised if there wasn't another Pirates gift shop at the dock when all is said and done.
