  1. I think that this is a great addition for Indiana Beach. They're offering something that no other park has and hopefully they'll be able to advertise that well enough. I finally think that IB is moving in the right direction.
  2. Need 19 -Missing 2 from Indiana Beach -Missing 8 from SFGAM (I'm assuming that you've only been on one side of American Eagle because your list doesn't specify which side and for all of the other racing coasters it specify's which side) -Mt. Olympus gives you 7 -Avalanche at Timber Falls gives you 1 -Little America gives you 4, which puts you over the mark by 3 You can arrange it so that Hades or Avalanche are #500. Usually I try to just ride whatever is the biggest coaster at the park I'm at for a milestone credit. I always take some pictures and maybe buy an onride photo. I do this every 50 credits. Here's what mine are: -100 Flight of Fear (KI) -150 Speed -200 Triple Hurricane -250 Wild Thing -300 Motorworld Express (this is a small kiddie coaster at a go cart place)
  3. Without switching seats I probably only have less than 10. With switching seats I have 16 on American Eagle.
  4. I'm trying to stay within the $100- $200 ballpark. My friend always uses his brother's camera and it takes great pictures. I think I might just get his camera, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll keep you updated and ask more questions if needed.
  5. "The official paint of Six Flags." There are definately some rides out there that are in desperate need of a paint job. Hopefully they won't be too cheap with what they paint or advertise a "new" ride everytime they repaint it.
  6. I know that nobody has posted in here since August, so sorry to bring up an old topic. I need some advice on Digital Cameras. I already have a camera, but it really sucks at taking night shots, close ups, catching details, and taking quick pictures. I'm sure that over the years you've narrowed down the best camera for picture taking. Any advice will help.
  7. This new idea would be really useful if someone tried to kidnap a kid at an amusement park. Even if not everybody used the system, potential kidnappers would be scared off by the system. Overall I think that people would have an interest in using it as long as it didn't take too much time to get and if it didn't cost too much. It's probably not going to be something that brings in tons of money for a park, but will be something that boosts guests' park experience and makes the park look safer.
  8. ^ I'm assuming that you're talking about the Wilderness Resort in the Dells. I really liked their enclosed Tornado because it felt like I was in a huge glass room. The end is what I'd imagine white water rafting would be like with the short drops and twists. I also really like the speed slide at Wet n' Wild across the street from IOA. They have two really tall slides that are white. For one of them you stand inside a small capsule and the operator/ lifegaurd presses a button which releases the floor and sends you into the slide. The lifegaurd let my little brother press the button when I was riding, because he was scared to ride it. The lifegaurd usually did a three second countdown before pressing the button, but before he got to three my brother pushed the button and I went flying down the slide.
  9. I'm a little bit upset about this upgrade. I've never been waiting to ride X since it was announced (around 2001 I think) and it was sort of what got me into the whole coaster thing. I'm finally going to Magic Mountain for spring break this year and now they decide to upgrade the ride. I doubt that X2 will be open by then, but I'm still hoping for the best. I know that they said it will close in late 2007 and re-open in spring 2008.
  10. I like this idea a lot. It's nice to see that some parks farther north than Florida, Texas, and California are open during the holidays. Nice job Beech Bend!!
  11. I remember laughing during most of the ride because it was so rough. Restraints have nothing to do with how rough the ride is, but hopefully they will make it so that the headbanging doesn't hurt as much.
  12. The only two places I've been that have "good weather" during the offseason are Texas and Florida. Personally I would choose Texas because the coasters are much more intense in my opinion. Six Flags Over Texas is very nice and has a lot of rides that will keep you busy for an entire day. *If you're going to be in Vegas, Speed is a really good coaster and only costs $5 a ride (i think). I'm assuming by "good weather" you meen warm weather 60+ degrees.
  13. It would be really cool if King's Island got a big coaster with lots of airtime. I've always thought that most of the old Paramount parks needed a big coaster with some airtime.
  14. I don't think people would pay $10, but maybe if it were done with a deposit of $10 and then only cost $1.
  15. I've been stuck on a bunch of rides. I'll start off with my homepark. Six Flags Great America: - American Eagle (red lift hill 3 times, red brake run 2 times, blue brake run 1 time) - Giant Drop - I fainted on the way up because I was really sick and it was hot out and woke up at the bottom. We were then stuck at the bottom for about 10 minutes because the restraints were stuck. It really sucked. - Iron Wolf (lift hill) - Demon (lift hill) - V2 - stuck halfway into station after ride was over (2 times) - Dejavu - one miscatch on each tower. A few misparks. Other Parks: - Montu (lift hill) - Speed the Ride - after the ride was over the train stopped in the launch section and they evacuated us. Basically the train was 20 feet from the station and stopped early for some reason. It was kind of freaky walking on the narrow catwalk next to the track. - Roar (SFA) - lift hill
  16. 1.) Talon 2.) Dueling Dragons (Ice) 3.) Alpengeist 4.) Top Gun - The Jet Coaster 5.) Patriot
  17. Maybe they should just get a huge sign outside of the ride that says "if you find things offensive then get the heck outta here." I got my Rollercoaster! magazine in the mail a few days ago and it has an article about stand up coasters. There's a thing about Banshee in there.
  18. Dejavu at Six Flags Great America for the last ride ever (7B right seat)
  19. So do these count as a credit or not? I know that the Bailey Autosleds count as credits, but those are full circuit rides. A bunch of kids from my German class went to Germany over the summer and were showing me pictures of the "roller coaster" they rode. It was just like these things, but I'm not sure if it was a full circuit ride.
  20. I was at the ACE gathering last night and it was a ton of fun. It's too bad that they're taking it out because it's a ton of fun. Hopefully they can replace it with something that won't have as much downtime and as long of a wait.
  21. Any park that has pictures of pole vaulters is cool. Good job Muscle Park!!
  22. I thought it was really funny how they described it being stuck while showing pictures of the train in the boomerang. People can be so stupid.
  23. I'm sure if enough money and time were put into it, yes it could happen, but I don't think any safety inspectors would pass it.
  24. Do most people count the coasters at octoberfest on their coaster count?
  25. If you do that you'll get to hear about next year's new 500 ft rocket coaster then.
