Here's a new one. I was at the mountain today and notice the Batman Action Theater had a tractor hidden inside. Maybe some demolition is coming. It hasn't been used in years and is looking bad. It was tough getting a better picture, but you can see the tractor in the picture. Tractor in the Action Theater.

^ Okay I stand corrected. If that's the case, I agree. -

Am I reading that right? As long as you're a member of a coaster club and have a season pass the event is free? I mean besides having to buy the club membership and season pass. It's always been free and that's the problem. Thousands of people attend now. I remember the early years, and you got a lot of ERT rides. Not anymore especially on rides like MF. It's like the park is open to the public. A great lunch is also included too! You get a shirt or sweatshirt free. Several years ago they gave us Gatekeeper jackets which they sell for $50. They need to start charging to size down the crowds that are coming now. I don't mind paying for ERT's if you get lots of rides... -

Some of my best times on Magnum were during Coastermania. They've had a tradition during the late night ERT to occasionally turn off the trims before the pretzel. Darkness around midnight, and no trims makes for just an amazing ride. A little painful, but it's the end of the night, so I just go with it. I still would like some padding / better lap bars... Then I could marathon her for real! -

I like Magnum too. It's not in my top 10, but close. I'd like it if they'd get new trains or just add a little padding to the seats. I'd be able to marathon it. Just my opinion. -
My last day at the mountain today for 2014. I left around 3 and nearly 3 lots full of cars again. Riddler never opened while I was there. They were testing with seats locked down - still. Those RMC guys are really ripping down that turnaround on Colossus as stated earlier in this thread. I was sad leaving today since I've been there for 27 days this year. Oh well, bring on 2015, and the nicer weather.

^ Both trains on Riddler have the seats locked in a seated position. It was that way yesterday too. Something must be wrong with the seat release, so instead of shutting down the ride they just locked both trains that way. Not a pleasant ride! I enjoy riding Riddler, but not this way. I'm sure it's not permanent, but it's been that way for the past 2 days. Another busy day today. Several rides down. Goliath went down for over an hour and people had to be evacuated off the final break run coming into the station. I left at 3 and nearly 3 parking lots were full.

Six Flags question

^^^ Good point! Zumanjaro is such a disappointment compared to Lex Luthor at Magic Mountain. They'll launch Superman (and do frequently) independent of the status / location of Lex Luthor. That shaking tower from Superman adds to the fun on Lex! -
It'll be fine with the winds. They said wind advisory today too. All rides were open, no problem - just a lot of people. It's about a 6 hour drive. You shouldn't hit too much traffic. I've done it several times since I moved to Phoenix this past summer. Keep in mind you gain an hour when you enter California. You'll be at the parking lot at 9 PST. The parking gates typically open at 9:30. Drive safe...

Quite a busy day at the mountain today. Almost 3 parking lots full of cars. Not as bad as Tuesday, but almost. Walked by Goliath and it was out to the "I" in Goliath with all switchbacks open at 3. "Pocky" was closed most of the day, but opened with 1 train at around 4:30. I got 1 ride and then left. Too cold and still too many people at the park. Tomorrows another day.

I'll tell you both Cedar Fair and Six Flags have great dividends. SIX is 5%, and FUN is 6.7% Where can you get that type of return on your money these days? Also that's not taking into account any stock appreciation. I own both, but 6 Flags is making me more money right now.

^^ Yes, Christmas Eve was a great day to be at the Mountain. The previous several days were crazy with crowds and wind issues. I ended my Christmas Eve with a mini marathon on "Pocky." I got 15 rides in a row! On the last one, I was the only one on both trains. There was still 10 minutes until closing (8pm), but I said my thanks, goodbys and Merry Christmas to the staff. I had a great day overall. A total of 50 rides from open to close. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL. AND TO ALL A GOOD RIDE!

^ Almost a full 3 parking lots of cars. Monday was into overflow (3 full lots). It's been extremely busy. Goliath opened late. I walked by at 11:45 and the line was out to the lockers already. I'm sure they didn't have all the switchbacks open that soon. I walked back to Scream at 3:45 before I left, and it was out to the entry way. That ride is rarely busy especially with Colossus closed now. Nothing else is back there.
