  1. ^^ I can't believe they do this by hand / roller. I figured they did it with spray and electrostatic charge to make it stick. Shows how much I know... Definitely a BIG JOB, but necessary. They'll look great!
  2. I've got to admit, this park has the worst rideops as far as their attitudes! I go to a lot of different parks every year. Lot's of folks rip 6 Flags Magic Mountain in LA, but this one is far worse. They refuse to make eye contact with their CUSTOMERS, and don't speak when spoken to. They can't be that unhappy could they be??? I did have the sky ride rideops wish me a pleasant evening when it was 5PM - closing today. Otherwise they don't speak or look at you. This is unreal! I hope park management reads this and makes some changes..
  3. Now that Apocalypse has both trains running again, I've got a theory. The new trains (returned from maintenance) a significantly rougher. I was at the Mountain this past weekend, and it was super busy. My theory on Apocalypse is the sun is taking it's toll on the track. The first tunnel is very smooth (no sunlight). The flyover the boarding platform is smooth (no sun). The second tunnel always was a little rough, but it's no worse now. My theory is that 6 Flags isn't maintaining this woody properly in the areas exposed to the sun. No big surprise there. It used to be a favorite of mine that I could ride over and over. Now that's not the case anymore. Just my two cents...
  4. ^ I'd believe they hit capacity. One of the rideops told me they were expecting 30,000 people on Saturday. I pulled into the parking at lines at 9:30. I didn't get into the park (clearing parking, metal detectors and entry gate) until 10:40. They opened the parking booths late. There were at least 15 buses waiting, and letting kids off before they got in. That made the mess at the metal detectors. All lanes open but look at this picture. At about 10:30 security did a good thing. They opened the gate to the left of the metal detector and 2 guards were hand wanding guests without bags. That got me in a little quicker. I left at 3 - I had enough. I'll be back today... Metal detector lines at 9:50am. What a mess!
  5. Had to post tonight. Drove over from Phoenix to ride today. Got to the park at 2:30, and it was empty. I got 3 immediate rides on Silver Bullet (one front row), and then moved on to my fav - Xcelerator. I got 30 on that baby before they closed at 5:30 to get ready for the Haunt. I met one of our TPR frequent posters - John Tanaka. He's a really nice guy and I enjoyed our conversations and rides on Xcelerator. I'll be back for more tomorrow and then off to Magic Mountain for the weekend.
  6. ^^ I think that's great. I see and know of lots of guests abusing this. Some think it's like a free flash pass. It's necessary for some folks, but not all that use it. Good move MM!
  7. ^ Yes, I too was at the mountain today. TC had little to no line until about noon. Got 14 rides in. Not too many had dueling. Supe was running both sides later in the day. Lex is a blast when both sides of Supe running - lots of tower sway. Goldrusher was running with 2 trains around noon. Same was true with Goliath (2 trains), and no line around 2pm. Left a little after 7 when Fright Fest started. I'm not into it, so I got out quickly. Got my new season pass processed quickly with parking, gold, and meal pass. Worked great and now I'm good until 2017. A good day overall - 36 rides by 7pm.
  8. ^^^ I've ridden Zu too. Lex is my favorite by far. KK won't launch if Zu is up, unlike Superman and Lex. No fake stops / slow downs on the ascent with Zu. I also enjoy the Lex speech at the top. For me it's Lex by far!
  9. I just flew into town. I checked into my hotel, and headed to the park. I got there a little after 7. The single line to get into the park was at least 45 minutes long. I'll pass!! I'll be there tomorrow morning when they open. I have no use for Fright Fest anyway. I just came for the rides...
  10. I was at Busch today, and they opened Shiekra today about an hour before closing. It was closed for maintenance. Not a good visit. Most rides 1 train operation. Falcon's Fury never opened. I'm glad I got a few rides finally on Shiekra at the end of the day.
  11. ^ That makes the ride tolerable for me.
  12. I hope they get the Gerstlauer trains like SDL at Hershey. That ride is great with the new trains. I'll finally get to ride Rev again!
  13. ^ With the new restraints - I agree!
  14. Well only time will tell! I am not saying that it is or isn't either, to me it just seems highly un-likey that it is. I really think if it were the trains, and they did get them out for the big reveal, and the big reveal ended up no happening they would put the trains some where... Better? Safer? Smarter? Maybe back inside a storage/shipping container, or maybe inside a building. I just don't see a park leaving a brand new very expensive roller coaster train just laying in the grass some where. I feel like it would be back in a box like the one below. (Yes, I know it is from a different manufacture, but I can't imagine that shipping procedures are much different.) The announcement is inside the Jack Aldridge theater, so that train you're talking about could be inside there already waiting for Sept 9.
  15. I recently pooped, yet I still eat food. Very impressive!!!
  16. Two guys with blueprints at new ride area
  17. 2 track pieces at Cedar Point for the new ride. Here we go guys! 2 track pieces for the new ride at C.P. I took this tonight at around 7. It's the normal storage area near Breakers Express. Looks exciting and truly a different color for any rides at the Point.
  18. ^ Here's something different Robb. This morning none of the 3 webcams are looking at any of their rides. 2 looking towards the lake and 1 at part of the Rougarou flowerbed. What's up with that???
  19. I've read he lost his phone. No way is this the parks fault. Nothing more needs to be done by CP or any other park. Robb's idea about security watching lift hill cameras is a great one.
  20. No seat-belts on this ride either! I loved this ride sooo much, I moved to Phoenix!
  21. This morning was one of the worst I've experienced at Magic Mountain. I really can't explain what the problem was. I'm just wondering if they didn't have enough maintenance guys to test the rides before opening at 10:30. All of these rides were down at opening and for at least 1 hour: 1. Lex Luthor 2. Goliath 3. Twisted Colossus 4. Scream (opened 45 minutes late) 5. Batman 6. Apocalypse 7. Riddler's Revenge 8. Full Throttle (shut down many times during the day) This is truly inexcusable! All the rides did open later during the day, but early morning is my time to get my rides before the GP gets in.
  22. What's going on with Lex? This if from the MM website this morning... I'll be there Sunday and I need my drops! At least Goliath is open. I've missed this ride!!! LEX LUTHOR: Drop of Doom Temporarily Closed
