  1. This is true as it is in every other park but, I have had my phone fly out of my pocket on Maverick (I'm dumb and forgot to zip up my pocket). I politely asked the ride attendants if they ever walked the track at close to find missing items and they do. I wasn't the only person who asked for their phone back that night. Everyone that showed up at the end of the day got their phone back, only one was completely destroyed and the park isn't liable to replace or fix it. Everyone there was very understanding of that fact, including the person whose phone was destroyed. Shout out to those workers for going the extra mile for me and others, not sure if any other parks do that. Damn you Great Adventure! (Lost my new iPhone on Nitro this week, lost and found employees say "not even maintenance goes into Nitro's woods.") That's not true about Nitro. Security is always looking for "lost stuff" during the day in their golf carts under the track and in the woods.
  2. ^ Great - less wait time for me on "Big G." I can't wait to get back to the mountain... I really missed this ride. I too like TC (rode it 29x on media day), but Goliath is my true love there. I can do more reps on it.
  3. Here is a statement from their website. Looks like a 2% increase in bodies through the gate. That's for all parks combined. Looks like Carowinds and Knotts are pulling the load. 07/08/2015 SANDUSKY, OHIO, July 8, 2015 -- Cedar Fair Entertainment Company (NYSE: FUN), a leader in regional amusement parks, water parks and active entertainment, today reported preliminary net revenues through July 5, 2015 of approximately $491 million, an increase of $24 million, or 5%, when compared with the same period a year ago. This period traditionally represents approximately 40% of the Company’s full-year net revenues. The higher net revenues are a result of a 2% increase in attendance, a 2% increase in average in-park guest per capita spending and a 10% increase in out-of-park revenues, including resort hotels.
  4. I always wondered why they didn't tighten entry security like every other park. Should be interesting to see if they install permanent metal detectors...
  5. I was at the Mountain today and good news! Now 2 trains on Riddler and Apocalypse. I also spoke with a rideop and she said regarding Goliath, she is scheduled to work the ride next Friday. Not sure the accuracy of that comment, but just wanted to share the good news (I hope).
  6. I've recently heard that they've taken down the single rider sign on TC. Sounds like they weren't using it properly anyway. Also they made a mistake adding bins to the platform area. They need a no loose article policy on this ride to speed up dispatches. One last thing I heard, dippin' dots has been added to the season dining snack menu.
  7. ^ I tried Mean Streak once last week while at the park. In row 2 and it still sucked!
  8. ^ You should've tried Maverick. I hated it before the new restraints. I can and will ride it a lot if there's no line. Yes, I too like Rougarou. I wouldn't ride Mantis either - too much "ear boxing." I don't mind standup coasters, but this layout was too compressed. I'm surprised how much I like Rougarou.
  9. Well, I too attended Coastermania yesterday. I've been to every one since it started. In my opinion, this was by far the worst! That's putting it mildly. I know it's a free event, and that's part of the problem. That entry snafu, was inexcusable. It took me 45 minutes to enter the park. Great ERT! This was the first year they required preregistration, so for the first time they had some type of advance head count. They should've been ready more so than ever before. I also understand weather had a lot to due with ride closures. It's just in the past they've set the bar very high for this event. Last year's lunch was unreal - so much to choose from and quality choices. This year's hot dogs and chicken nuggets was a huge step down. I've said this for years - they need to charge for this event, with online registration. You can then print out your admission ticket with a bar code or load it from your smart phone. I've never been to a coaster event without getting a shirt or hoodie. Nothing from Rougarou their new coaster this year either. I will not use anything they gave us at lunch (backpack, puzzle, hat, key-chain). When I think back 2 years ago, they gave all of us $49. Gatekeeper jackets plus other things. The only saving grace for this event was the "super charged crew" at Maggie for the evening ERT. I won't go into the Maverick issue, since it's already been discussed. Also this year's lunch time discussion was totally worthless. In years gone by we've spoken with Ron Toomer and I can't remember which guy from B&M was there. Also management was always there. This year the new GM said absolutely nothing of any significance. I know he can't and won't say anything about the (hopefully) new ride for 2016. We've yet to meet the new CEO - Matt O. At least Dick Kinzel was always there. Sorry for my rant, but this was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Let's get it together Cedar Point...
  10. Tonight after leaving the park at about 8:15, it looked like the final rehearsal for Luminosity was going to take place. Saw lots of employees in the stands and management. Probably could've stayed to watch it, but I was too exhausted from riding and tomorrow will start early at Coastermania. I can't wait...
  11. Where did you get the link for these? The link on their website is still missing... I'm in-route to the Point tomorrow.
  12. It's still not up as of tonight. I guess they didn't want to show how bad the weather was today. It's getting nasty and cold for Coastermania. We've had too many nice days in the past for this event.
  13. Rob you've got it right. TC is a great coaster! It smokes the old Colossus big time. I can speak from experience since I've been on it since media day 47 times. When it duels, it's amazing! They just need to establish a loose article policy for this ride = nothing on the platform, and a test seat. These are easy fixes. I've heard the test seat is coming. The vast majority of the rideops are really working hard.
  14. I totally agree on your first 2 points. I've also heard here that a test seat is coming out front. Yes, no loose articles on the platform. That will dramatically improve the boarding process.
  15. Less than a week until Coastermania! I can't wait...
  16. Gold pass holders only, no guests. The pass is checked several times. The guest must remain outside.
  17. I was there on Wednesday - media day too. We had to be there at 4:30am, but were rewarded with lots of rides. I also rode Thursday, Friday and Sunday. I skipped Saturday - day 1 for the GP. I had heard there was a girl that had me beat. I ended up with 47 on TC before I flew home on Sunday. Great time!!
  18. ^^ I totally agree with your comments of M.S. - hate it! Blue Streak is my favorite ride in the park. Normally never a line, plus lots of airtime for 78'...
  19. Not sure where you got this information that all rides have single rider lines. I'm normally by myself. I just use the ones that are advertised. Where do you think these other single rider lines are for: Goliath, Scream, YOLO, Tatsu, Apocalypse? I hope you're right, but I don't think so. Please prove me wrong...
  20. Saturday all the rides were busy. For most of the day, the entire queue for FT was nearly full. Scream was out the entry several times. I needed to even wait on Goldrusher for 10 minutes once. The overflow parking was half full. That tells you how many people were at the park yesterday. Single train rides (Riddler, Ninja, Apocalypse) = long lines. One last day for me today...
  21. Just 3 more thoughts of mine on TC. Definitely need to enforce the no camera policy. This will be an issue for them when an incident happens! Establish a no bag / article policy. Mandatory bag check outside the ride queue. This will speed things up. Install a test seat to minimize the "walk of shame," and delays preventing dueling. I'll be at the park today, but not near TC. It will be a madhouse for the foreseeable future.. The closest I'll be will be Scream.
  22. Yes the ride did open late for us gold pass members today - near 1pm. They did keep it open until 6, which was more than fair. For some reason Scream didn't open today at all like it did yesterday. Just some personal thoughts on T.C. Just an absolutely great ride. Since Wednesday I've ridden it 46 times! An overwhelming number of those rides were dueling. The difference today was the ride was operated mostly by great rideops not "silver tagged" managers. Not sure where all these people came from. Just a couple of observations that will become obvious soon to all: The lap bar release has nothing to do with the pneumatic sound that normally releases them. It's a delayed release that has to be electrical. The new men's room has only 1 urinal. What were they thinking? No fans or TV's on the platform - yet. The queue area seems small for the demand. It will always spill out into the outside of the ride.
