  1. I was at the park this weekend for Coastermania. The park is closing early today at 7pm because of the storm, wind and power outage. Such a shame since I was having a good day riding. I was worried I was going to get stranded on Millie during the storm. The staff didn't seem to know what to do. They evacuated the train in the station, but didn't dispatch it. I was the first train waiting to get in and the third one was just outside the last tunnel. They wasted at least 10 minutes before they advanced that empty train. I got off and barely made it to the rest room nearby when it broke loose with rain and wind. I hope the folks on the third train finally got off before the storm. A few years ago after Coastermania it was the water main break, and this year this storm.
  2. Heading to Sandusky for Coastermania tomorrow. I can't wait for Valravn! I love Griffin and Shekra at the Bush parks. I'm ready to ride...
  3. Yes it's true, the park is closed today. As per their website - water pipe repair. I saw the same thing at Cedar Point a few years ago, and the park was closed for several days. The MM website says it will be open tomorrow - Tuesday.
  4. Looking at the webcam today it appears Valravn is now holding (like it should) at the top of the first drop. That's the best!
  5. ^ I was at the park today too, and the dispatches were between 4 - 5 minutes. I'd never wait that long for the VR headset. I'm good with riding, enjoying the scenery and having my arms up.
  6. Yes on both. Early entry in Chicago, but you're first to get in line. Last year, no rides running early...
  7. Coastermania tickets getting close to being on sale. $30. cost, this year. Also, no guests allowed. All must be members of a coaster club. Only 8 clubs recognized. Certainly, Club TPR is one of them.
  8. ^ JT, I was there on media day, and on the first train out. I rode it 24 times, and I would say the dueling occurred 90% of the time. They didn't want us to get off the train for quite sometime, and I was good with that. The dueling can occur, but they need to slow down the side 2 more than they do. It's a great ride, but when they duel it's extraordinary!
  9. I was at the mountain today also. They had 2 1/2 parking lots full. That's half the lot in front of Scream. Rev was testing empty trains this afternoon. I've got 2 pictures. They are a lot quieter than the old ones that's for sure. Superman isn't reaching the red zone anymore. I rode it twice this morning, and you can actually hear 3 magnets misfiring down the launch track. That' why it's not going so high. It's like the old Superman now. Rev on the turn Empty train
  10. Even though I don't live in South Florida anymore, I'll miss it. Only got to ride it 1 day, but 10 times. Would've been more, but the friend I was with got sick and didn't ride anymore, so I left with him. I should've come back... My mistake. Farewell old friend.
  11. So Sad! I used to live in Ft. Lauderdale, and saw this ride as I left the airport each week. I loved it!!! Only rode it for 1 day 10 times, with a friend. He got sick or I would've rode more.
  12. I would love for that to be true. I rode SDL last summer and those Gerstlauer trains were very comfortable and butter smooth. I totally agree. SDL is great with the new trains.
  13. I totally disagree on MS. A few years ago during Coastermania, they begged us to ride MS for ERT at night. That was a Friday night, and for the first time I enjoyed it. I think they turned off the trims, although I'm not that familiar with the ride since I don't like it. I rode it twice and enjoyed. It was closed the next day so, I came back Sunday and rode it in the front and it was $hit! Blue Streak is my favorite ride in the park. I ride row 1 or 2 only and throw my hands up and enjoy!! No thinking about how to ride. Normally the line is short and I can ride over and over.
  14. I was at the Mountain both Saturday and today - Sunday. Saturday wasn't as busy as today, but the weather (winds) closed / delayed many ride openings. Today was busier, almost 3 parking lots, but still many rides opened late: Goliath, Superman, Scream, Lex, Yolo to name a few. I also thing X2 opened late or didn't open today. Not sure, since I don't care about it and never ride it. I'm not sure if that helps..
  15. i was yelling, hey Ed, hey Ed. while i was getting on Riddlers and you went to the row in front of us. then, didn't fit or whatever reason you went back in line. LOL Hey JT, I thought I heard my name on Riddler's, but I had to go back to the single rider line because that seat was the broken one. I didn't notice until I tried to pull down the harness. It had the vest on it, so I returned to the line. Merry Christmas...
  16. I was at the park today. Many rides opened late (Goliath, Scream, Riddler, Lex). Still a great day to get rides. Not very busy at all. Only about 1 1/2 parking lots full. YOLO finally opened around 4 or so. I do have a question. Where do the estimated wait times come from on the 6 Flags app?
  17. A windy cold day at the Mountain today. I was at Knotts until about 1 (sunny and near 70), and drove up to MM. I got to the park about 4 and it was very windy and cold 54. Four rides were closed when I got there: - Lex, Scream, X-2 and YOLO.
  18. ^ It doesn't always completely stop. Sometimes the MCB just slows the train down. Not really sure why sometimes is does stop. Not a fan of that. It ruins the pacing.
  19. They're even reworking the entry to Ghostrider. Here's a pic from this morning. Under construction
  20. ^^^^ I'm soooo glad they're finally charging for this event. I've said that for years. That will "weed out" a lot of people. Now ERT's are a joke with all the people attending free. I've been to every one since the beginning, and last year was THE WORST EVER! Everything was bad from the entry, food, free stuff. I wasn't going to attend in 2016, except now with Valravn I've got to! I realize this event costs the park a lot of money. Plus they've set the bar so high in the past. Two years ago they gave away $50. Gatekeeper jackets , not the junk they gave away this year. We've even had shrimp for lunch in the past. I don't expect that kind of free stuff, but going back to tee shirts would be best, and maybe a Valravn pin IMHO. We didn't even get anything from Rougarou this year which was strange. I'm looking forward to a new improved Coastermania in 2016!
  21. I wasn't excited about this project until today. I didn't realize there is a drop ride in the middle too. The actual ride looks great including inversions and 500' +. I can't wait for it to happen.
  22. ^ One of the most unique displays was the last video you posted JT. You stopped recording too soon. It's 3D and the moose is shooting snowballs at the mice climbing up the FT bar wall. I guess it's a tribute to the old Mooseburger Lodge that used to be in that building. The display is quite unique and entertaining.
  23. I was at the Mountain today, and during the first day of Holiday in the Park which started at 5. I was there at opening and they had several Chinese folks with 6 Flags silver badges (management) with their names in English and Chinese. I'm wondering if 6 Flags is planning an expansion into China soon? Back to Holiday in the park. They've really added many lights to their display. I came down the walk from Tatsu to Viper. Very nice, but the snow machines weren't working or turned on yet. The main plaza by YOLO looks real nice. This year they're also projecting animated images on the FT bar building which is new and entertaining. I even had an "Ice Queen" sighting at FT plaza. She was looking at the images on the FT bar too. She too seemed impressed. There were also carolers in the main plaza that sounded good. All things considered, the place looks great, and better than last year. I'll be back tomorrow night to see it all!
  24. This problem is at all parks. I thought it would be better at Disney - but no obviously. As the day wears on, I get less tolerant of this line jumping, but what can you do???? I've said things to people, but they just shrug their shoulders and keep going. I find it gets worse later in the day. People texting each other that they're on the ride platform and come on up. I also find it really bad at the parks in the North East like Great Adventure in New Jersey. Realistically, what can you do to prevent this with out getting into an altercation with them???
  25. I was at Knotts today. A fairly busy day for a Wednesday, although the day before Thanksgiving. I do have 1 pet peeve to air. At 10:20 (had to be their first ride of the day), a passenger on Silver Bullet puked. It was in the middle of the train. They took nearly 25 minutes before they resumed operations. They used this dry absorbent everywhere. What they should've done is hose it down, and let it run empty to spin dry! They made this into such a production, wasting valuable early morning ride time before the park got busy. I'm there to ride!
