What????? Cedar Point (which has the dumbest wind policy ever) doesn't even shut the Sky Ride down until it gets to about 15 MPH and Raptor, Gatekeeper and Dragster don't close until about 25? Why do they need to close X2 for 12 MPH winds? That seems insane to me. 12 MPH winds are basically just a light breeze. I think those quoted wind speeds are a little low. I know Lex shuts down with wind speeds around 40 as measured at the top of the tower. They want to protect the cables from hitting together. Yes, today could be a repeat of Sunday's wind closures...

I've just gave up at being at "the Mountain" today. I was there at opening, and they let gold pass in at 10am. That's the good news. I got a quick ride on YOLO. This was probably one of my worst visits to the park. I've been accused of being a "fan boy," but I'm going to call it like it was. I understand weather / wind plays a big role with some rides. Here is the rundown at 1:30 for closed rides: 1.Orient Express 2. X2 3. Tatsu 4. Ninja 5. Riddler's 6. Gold Rusher 7. Scream 8. Lex 9. Superman Yolo and Goliath were running all day. The lines were out outrageous! "Pocky" (get over my abbreviation) was back to running 2 trains this morning. I also saw Rev was loading only 1 train, and the line was over the bridge. I feel sorry for the folks that have never been there and can only be there today...

Looks like this great ride will be disappearing soon. http://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/blog/morning-edition/2014/08/dania-beachroller-coaster-could-be-knocked-down.html -
I was at the park again yesterday. I don't have any pictures - sorry. Good ones have already been posted. I originally posted this on the MM thread, and didn't realize it had it's own thread. I stayed until after sunset to see the Holiday in the Park setup. It's very nice for their first year of doing this. Big light show in the DC Universe area. The lights change colors with the holiday music. On the path up to Katy's Kettle (on the way to Tatsu) is their winter wonderland. The trees are decorated with lights, snow, Coke polar bears, and a very festive mood. Santa's workshop is up near the Tatsu entrance for the kiddies. The main plaza is very nice. The fountain has changed with nice LED lighting. They even changed the YOLO video to show winter scenes. Nice decorations in YOLO plaza complete with a DJ, percussionist (same good guy from the summer), dancers, snow, lights and decorations. Again for their first effort for this, it turned out nice.

^^^ Very nicely done! Brings back memories of summer and my 1 and only visit to the Point. It was for Coastermania and that weekend. That was the "suck weekend" with the park closed Saturday (I did get 4 rides in) and Sunday for the water main break! -

I'm 5'9" and I've never had a problem on the stand-ups. Green Lantern is actually one of my favorite rides at Great Adventure, and it's most people's least. People just complain about everything, you'll come to accept it! GL was better and smoother in Kentucky as Chang. GL is my second most favorite standup. Riddlers Revenge is my #1 at 6 Flags Magic Mountain. I wouldn't even ride Mantis. Just too much head banging. Too compressed of a layout. If it was stretched out I could've been better. Same layout for the new ride, but I'll give it a chance. -
I was at the park again today. I'll be back tomorrow for the morning season pass ERT on YOLO. I do have some information on Apocalypse. It was closed today also, and will be for awhile. It was a wheel problem, and that caused damage to one side of the track. If it was only 1 train, they could still run the ride. That's not the case. I miss "Pocky!"

I was at the mountain today too. I got many rides on "Pocky" (I know everyone hates the abbreviation) in the morning. It was running fine. I walked by to ride more at 5:30, and was told the ride was down for the day. Lots of work going on with TC. The blue and green track looks great! Late in the afternoon just about all the guys were working on the "trick track" near the ground. There must be some problem with it. Also others have mentioned it, but lots of trees gone around the closed ice cream shop by the Colossus old entryway. I'm guessing it must be for the loading platform and queues. It was getting dark, but here's a picture showing some of the chopped stumps. Good riding day - 41 for me. Tree trunk stumps... Make way for TC!

I was at the Mountain today. It's getting very busy. All 3 parking lots full, and filling the overflow lot. I finally got to ride Goliath, and you can see the bunny hops and trick track from the Goliath lift hill. Can't take pictures, or I'd have them for you. This is the blue side that they're working on. That must be the second lift hill I'm guessing. Quite a bit of progress since I was there in Thursday. I guess RMC wants to get this done...

Now everyone can quit whining about an announcement. The new colors look good. It's the same layout so I'm not that happy. It needs to be stretched out. You know 5 pounds of sh*t in a 1 pound bag. We'll see next season. I'll definitely ride it. With Mantis there I just skipped that ride. -

Today I attended the Riding of the Bull Seise at Great Adventure. It's a good event complete with a Mexican lunch. I just had to post this because it is so hilarious! After lunch (all you can eat), we had ERT on El Toro. Train departures were soooo delayed because of the fat ACER'S. Virtually every car on every train had lap bar issues. These people were huge trying to ride. The delays were unbelievable! That sucked up much of that ERT. Just an observation, my TPR friends.
