^^^^ Yes, that's a perfect idea. I don't want to carry any bottles or anything with me. Read - no delays with loose articles with me. I have the 6 Flags bottle, and virtually never bring it or use it. This is great! I've often said that would be a perfect solution. -
I was at the park today, and the decorations were dramatically expanded. The greatest expansion was in the steampunk area. Also the area leading up to Rev was "well decked out." Not all the special effects were on / working tonight. The projection on the side of the gearworks theater was off and no snow turned on in the steampunk area too. Even the concert lights behind the stage by YOLO weren't all active. I just think the second stringers were working tonight. I am a self professed MM fanboy, but as I've said before each year their Christmas display gets better and better. I even saw the show Querkmas and recommend it. If nothing else, it was good to get in out of the cold and wind. But seriously, a good show with lots of variety.

Yeah, I'm all for opinions but I'm even more for opinions with some validation. I'd like to hear the rationale. Something happened about 6 - 8 years ago with the employees. They used to love their jobs. I remember making the statement, I don't know what they feed these kids but if we'd feed this to the rest of the world there wouldn't be war. They USED TO love their jobs. Now, they go out of their way to even avoid eye contact with the guests. Last year I was at Magic Mountain 36 days, so it's not burn out. I've been there over 20 days this year. I find most employees friendly and even recognize me. They actually start conversations with me. Over the past 5 years or so, that's not the case at Cedar Point. I also like the rides more at MM. Now that Mean Streak is closed, MM has 2 more coasters.

I've heard Iron Horse back in August. -
I was at the Mountain yesterday - Friday. As noted earlier, no single rider line on Rev. This is insane since I watched at least 6 trains go half empty and always the first row was empty. There was a rideop at the old single rider line entry doing nothing other than telling us it doesn't exist anymore, so I don't believe it's a staffing issue! I don't want VR, I enjoy the ride for what it is now that it's been reworked. IT'S GREAT! Early entry and the first hour at the park was extremely disappointing to say the least. I got in at 10:20, and the following rides were closed / not operating: YOLO, Goliath (stuck on lift hill with rideop taking names), Twisted Colossus, Scream, Batman, X2 and of course Pocky. The last one is down for retracking. Also when Goliath finally reopened, lots of line jumping. The worst I've ever seen, with folks coming up the left side of the stairs and Flash Pass people didn't stop them. I went up the hill and got my first ride on Superman. Not an impressive start, but later in the day the park got going. I got a survey from Bonnie this morning, and I really blasted her on the opening rides operations, and mostly loss of the single rider line on Rev.

Yes, 2017 re-opening of Mean Streak by RMC. Iron Horse is it's name. -

I've heard Mean Streak will get the RMC treatment for 2017. It will be the biggest and the best! It's name = Iron Horse -

Valravn's lift chain broke this afternoon. They were working hard on it with 5 guys doing the job. As the rain started at 8pm, I saw them testing the ride as I left. I hope it's open tomorrow morning for my early entry ride. -

To clarify my point on the ride maintenance, their ride uptime WAS excellent. As I said all of their reliable rides are down frequently during the day. Kings Island (I was there last week for 4 days) runs trains in the rain. This is a CP policy not Cedar Fair. I'm looking forward to another bad day at the park today. The forcast is for rain all day. I know all you "CP fanboys" love this park, but I knew it when it was great. They had great ride up time, rideops that liked their jobs, etc. I've seen it go straight downhill over the years. Something bad changed about 10 years ago making it mediocre at best. They could care less about their customers. They don't get it - It's sad. -

Today was probably the worst day I've ever had at Cedar Point. I've been there 5 days out of the past week or so. First of all their ride maintenance is really POOR. During these 5 days just about all of their coasters have been down at one time or another. These were not weather related. Sure certain rides (Dragster, Maverick, for example) have constant down time. I accept that. The Intamin's seem to be problematic. My complaint was all the other coasters were down frequently or opened late (Gemini, Valravn, Magnum, Millennium Force). What has changed there with ride maintenance?? Today's issue was their STUPID RAIN POLICY! All coasters need to have one of their trains removed. Today's rain was very light and lasted less then 90 minutes. All rides shut down to off load 1 train, then the ride gets tested and then reopened at a lower capacity. Because there were clouds in the sky, none of the coasters returned to full operation. This is a Cedar Point "thing." King's Island doesn't work this way with rain. They really need to step up their ride maintenance and make them more reliable. A major change to their rain policy need to be implemented. These days they seem to have no focus on guest satisfaction. This park can be so much more! -
I was at the park today, and I must say it was the worst for operations! I've been there many times too. What a mess... Very unimpressive. Superman opened 25 minutes late Green Lantern opened 20 minutes late El Toro opened at around 4pm. Joker never opened. Nitro was down frequently this afternoon for long periods of time.

I'm not sure what happened at opening at the park yesterday - Saturday. The park was scheduled to open at 10am. Security and the metal detectors didn't start working until 9:30. The the poor guy screening the gold passes scanner wasn't working, so he had to key in the numbers. By the time I got into the park the gold pass line was already released. I've not seen this delayed metal detector issue before at the park. It seems it's always something...

The park is closed all day today - Monday, because of the storm yesterday. Lot's of power poles down on the causeway. This is the second time in the past 3 years that the park has been closed post Coastermania. They're hoping to be open on Tuesday, but that doesn't help me.
