Falitix X: The Final Stand [NL]
jason10 replied to jason10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Ahhh! How could this fall back! I'm such a n00b! Anyway, here is the too long awaited track! Please enjoy! Rate, comment, review etc. etc. etc.! Changes.nltrack Falitix X: The Final Stand -
Here's a pet peeve of mine! When people suddenly launch into a different language for just one word that is foreign! Here's a scenario: My friend has just been to France and he came back saying where he had been. He says 'I went to *Parhy* and I saw the *arkkkkkk de trhhheeomfffffffff* and went up the *eifelllll tower*. It's like, oh shut up. Just say you went to Paris and saw the Arc de Triumph and don't be so pompus about it! 'Celebrity' chefs are also really bad for this! I saw one the other day and this really snooty lady was making some Italian dish. She was talking normally and fine explaining her dish and then she ruined it by suddenly going all Italian on me and said 'tagliatelle' in some stupid, fake Italian accent and carried on in english! YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THAT! Just say it in your own damn accent and stop trying to be a snooty, know it all b*tch. End rant.

Photo TR: Intimidator 305's Opening Day
jason10 replied to B-RadG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great TR! I loved the comedy and you had some nice shots of the ride! Intimidator 305 does look incredible! I was excited to go on the IntimidaTOUR before this opened but now, I am super-mega-uber-hyper excited now! That thing looks insane! I hope it lives up to its reputation and if this things is down when I go, I will be forever *censored*. -
Intimidator 305 - KD 2010 [NL]

Absolutely outstanding, man! I loved it! The accuracy is amazing and is as close to the real thing as you're going to get! From the POV's, I can spot no flaws or blemishes that haven't been mentioned (of which are only real nit-picks) and I can only congratulate you on a truly outstanding effort! It is butter smooth! One TINY thing though, I noticed that one of the large lift-hill support footers is floating in the air. But, it is not at all important! -
I'm having the same problem as you, nln00b! But for me, it's my ICT teacher. Basically, he hates me, and his attitude shows this. I really don't know why though! Not to be big headed or blow my own trumpet but, I am a nice, courteous person who is hard working and to be quite honest, my other teachers love me (there goes my big head again but it's true)! My grades also show this and in English, I'm getting A*'s all the time a year early. Now, moving on to ICT, sure, I'm getting good grades, but my teachers' attitude towards me sucks. E.g. 1: We are making videos for an imaginary music company to advertise a particular artists' work. It has to be a minimum of 45 seconds long. My video was 57 seconds. When I showed him the video for him to mark, the only comment he could fire from his mouth was "What is this music? What's that coming from the speakers? Who is this person?" WHAT?!? Seriously, come on! It may not be your taste of music, but don't be so rude! Then, he had the cheek to say "How long is this? It doesn't seem long enough!" He obviously didn't have the strength in his eyes to look down and realise it was 57 seconds. When he looked at the person next to me, he was laughing and saying how good it was. Make a note that her video was 2 seconds longer than mine (just 2, yes) and he made no comment of the length AT ALL! E.g. 2: We had to make evidence of us using certain techniques and skills for this video. One thing he picked up on was that I didn't show evidence of cutting/trimming a video clip. I he could actually use his eyes and read the picture, he would see I did. When I showed him that I had in fact included it, he said that the picture didn't show it. I said "yes it does, read what it says." He read it, ticked it and had nothing else to say. E.g. 3: We had to do a storyboard for this video. By this time, it was obvious to me that he would find something to pick at that wasn't even there. I was right. He told me that I didn't include what music I was going to add. If he read the page, he would have clearly seen it and when I showed it to him, he had that horrible look on his face. Then, he told me I hadn't included the transitions. Again, he had lost all ability to use the primitive skill of reading. If he had looked at the transition box which was specially designed for noting down transitions (hopefully you are realising this persons' total ignorance) he would have seen that I had included transition. Then he said I had not included credits. I had clearly laid down two pages on his desk worth of storyboards. I told him to look at the second sheet. He looked at it, ticked it and gave me that horrible look again and asked me to sit down. E.g. 4: When he gives out the marking grids which tell us the grades and what we could improve on, he goes around to everybody and gives them to individuals. When he came to my one, he read out to the whole class what I had 'done wrong' (notice it wasn't a suggested improvement)! Talk about being a total a$$! So, I hope you realise the extent of the abuse and crap I get from my ICT teacher. These are just a few examples and there are many other 'minor' ones which add to these; further degrading my spirit and make me hate ICT as a subject even more. I'm going to stop this rant now in fear I will explode trying to portray my hatred for this teacher. -Jason10

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
jason10 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really do like the look of this coaster. At first, I wasn't fond of it, but now I realise that the layout is truly awesome! The big drop, the low to the ground turns and most importantly, the airtime! The skyline looks great already and I look forward to seeing how this is going to turn out. Not only in an actual ride experience, but how the public take it! Obviously they are going to love it, if they love Hurler. Next year is certainly going to be a great year for Kings Dominion and from the looks of the webcam, construction is coming on nicely! -

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
jason10 replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
About the reverse banking, I think it is just the way the track is laying on the ground. If it is banked at the other end of the track more than the end closest to the camera, then it would twist to balance the track piece making it appear to be wrongly banked if you know what I mean. -

According to Alton Towers Almanac: Very interesting! Any shots at the manufacturer? I THINK it is Intamin, but I can't be too sure. What do you think? oooooo..... -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
jason10 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I sort of have mixed feelings over this ride. Sure it has some good, perhaps some great elements, but it isn't something that really got me excited. I'm not going to be visiting Cedar Point anytime soon, but it is nice to know that something incredible is being built. Regardless of whether I am going to ride it or not. I do have to agree that Cedar Point did need to widen their variety in rides. For me, a great park is one with something for everyone, not just thrill seekers. I feel Cedar Point is starting to realise the potential in building more family based rides. This is a great example. The point needed to get away from they're obsession with over the top thrill rides. Don't get me wrong, having many a' thrills is great, but a break is definitely needed. A family based water ride will be prefect. Something for the whole family to get a break from the thrills. This ride isn't to tall or steep. About the ride itself, I have to say that I am slightly disappointed with the execution of the ride. The theme doesn't appeal to me. A place that makes alcohol for a family based ride doesn't really go. I may be reading to much into this. Another thing is that the biggest drop isn't last. Maybe it isn't really that bad, but I like saving the best for last. Not every element of the ride is bad though. I love the splashing water on the splash down of the last drop. It adds interest to the ride. Plus, it does look as you will get wetter on the last drop so it does. in a way, count as a better finale than having a bigger drop. On the whole, Cedar point has made the right decision with refraining from adding a new large scale thrill ride. By integrating a family ride into a largely thrill dominated park, it gives signs of Cedar Point looking at the family based aspect of a park which I think is great! Even with a few negetives, Cedar Point has got a winner in my eyes. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
jason10 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While queueing up for Saw: The Ride, I overheard someone say... "Did you know that the front of the carriage is pointed down so the air resistance keeps it on the track. That goes for every coaster: even Stealth!" God forbid she turn her head and look at Nemesis Inferno! That's below the track! -
I couldn't rant and open myself to any other place but here. Not even to my family because I just don't want to bring it up but how can doctors be so wrong. They told my grandad that he had about 2 years to live and and now, they say he has a few days. Plus, my mum and gran don't want me visiting him anymore because they want me to remember him as the man he used to be. Fair enough but I wish I knew that the last time I saw him would be the last. It's not really a rant to anyone; just a rant at life and fairness. It just isn't fair. He was so healthy and buzzing and within the space of a few moths, he is totally reliant on other people. It's not fair.

The Lathe NL
jason10 replied to coastb2's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I thought this was a ROLLER COASTER enthusiast site. Not a lathe enthusiast site. If it isn't a coaster, don't post it. This might be better suited on the Random board; even if it is made on NL. -
Top / Best Amusement Park (s)
jason10 replied to bodombeast's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Disney 2. IOA 3. Port Aventura 4. Kings Dominion 5. Alton Towers 6. Thorpe Park 7. Drayton Manor 8. Legoland Windsor These are the only theme parks I've been to. I really need to get out to more parks because that list is TERRIBLE! -
I think this is the British sense of humour coming out here. You shouldn't really read into it as much as this. It's a simple publicity stunt to be taken light-heartedly as a joke. It got them on the net. Simple advertising. I think it's quite funny but seriously, don't take this the wrong way! I'll be keeping my hands up while at the same time enjoying the fact that THORPE PARK have a sense of humour!

O' magical Title Fairy. I type here before you to request a custom title. Please may you change mine to 'Intamin drop ride enthusiast.' I thank thee in advance.

I'd say Stampida is the roughest coaster I have ever been on so far. I had a constant headache for about 2 days. It was fun, but way too rough for my liking. But to be fair, it's wood. So the roughest steel coaster is either Furius Baco on the outside or Colossus and Thorpe Park.

jason10 replied to KDCOASTERFAN's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'll be honest here; it wasn't good. I have to agree with the majority and say that pre-fab elements are kind of a no-no when it comes to posting a track to pass off as your own. If you didn't make the track then it isn't your coaster in my eyes. I would possibly excuse you a bit more if the elements were from the game but the fact you got them from other people's tracks without permission is unforgivable. Yes, it's tricky, but in time you learn. Everyone else gets on fine with free-hand work, and so will you if you actually try. Your first coaster will not be the best but in time you will become more skilled. My tip is to at least TRY to build free-hand and get it as good as you can. Spend weeks even moths on it to make it perfect. That's what most people do. No Limits is not a few hour thing like RCT3. It takes time. Build free-hand and you will certainly get better. -

Sorry for the double post but a few comments would be nice. I would like to know how I did and whether you liked it or not. -
My mum always used to say that if I spent too much time infront of the computer or telly, my eyes would go square, just like the screen! Scared me to death.
