Thorpe Park Discussion Thread

Jordan, I am now begging you... do not get Ultimate Fastrack! We won't be able to see each other that way. That was one of the main reasons for going other than Saw! So please, don't. Yes, it will maximise your day but, going for two days means you really don't need it! Anyway, back on topic! I can't believe how quick all of this has been. It seems like only last week we found out it was themed to Saw! Just 2 more weeks to go until opening and I can't wait. I'm not going to look at POV's though as it will ruin the whole surprise! -

These two pictures have come to my attention and it seems there will be 'live actors' placed in the queue. If you look on the far left sign, it seems to say: 'Please be aware that there will be live actors in the queue line today. Anyone found physically or verbally abusing the actors may be removed form the park.' sounds interesting. This is being speculated on a few fan sites and I thought I might tell you here. If this is true, then this is pretty amazing. Thorpe Park are really putting effort into making this ride the best they can and with live actors, I really do think this could be a top 10 contender. Obviously the ride itself isn't the best but, the theming, elements and storyline really add to the experience! Here are the two pictures: http://content.maniahub.com/photo/Thorpe/22-02-09%20Dylan/hiP1030358.JPG < Courtesy of Thorpe Park Mania http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu279/SawTheRide09/SANY0018-2.jpg -
SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

Oh right! So the pull-outs on flyers are a lot more tame! I thought that they had just the same pull out as a sit down for example. Thanks for clearing it up. I did wonder why Air took it's pull out so slow for the size of it. Thanks! -

Isn't that the same on a pull out of a drop though. Instead of being vertically forced into your seat, you are forced onto your stomach because of the flying position. If you can handle that on a drop pull out, surely you can have a weak outside loop? Or, am I missing a key element to this? -

I have never understood that and I have heard it before. No matter how many times I think about it, I can't see anything wrong with your average outside loop on a flyer. What is the difference between the forces experienced on a pull-out that the ones on a loop. I just don't get it. -

For everyone who was freaking out because you were under 15 years old and therefore might not be able to ride, your answer is HERE. The official Saw: The Ride page has been put on the website and a new countdown on all pages have been placed on the top of the screen. It is still showing it will open on 14th March, so here's hoping for an on-time opening. For those of you who's mouses don't seem to work, here is the quote from the website: EDIT: Also, it does say that the blades on the head-chopper will spin! Thank goodnes as it would have been a bit lame if they didn't. Here's that quote: 'Face Your Fears on SAW – The Ride in 2009! Manufactured by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, the rollercoaster is based on the horror movie franchise ‘Saw’ and leaves you at the mercy of the film's master manipulator, Jigsaw. The ride is known as a Euro-Fighter and submits its victims to a 100° beyond vertical drop from a height of 30m (100ft) through four spinning saw blades reaching speeds of 89km/h (55mph) with three inversions, SAW. With a capacity of 8 passengers per car and a maximum of 8 ride cars on the track, more than 1,100 passengers every hour can face their fears on SAW - The Ride, THORPE PARK's most terrifying rollercoaster!' -
Nürburgring launched coaster
jason10 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm really confused over this coaster. When I first saw what I thought the track was, it was flat and boxy. This really confused. me. The only images we have seen of this have been very sketchy and don't really tell us much. Even the video is 'blah.' I'm looking forward to seeing it in action though. -

I have to say, this has exceeded my expectations. I didn't think THORPE PARK being THORPE PARK could pull off any kind of theming but they have proved me wrong. If you look in the fourth picture, you can see one of those industrial pistons attached to the blades. Maybe this will be a moving part of the theming! Who knows? -
Me thinks he means Stand-up Floorless inverter. The sort of thing you find on Intamin Drop Towers.

^ Thanks. That really helps a lot. I'm really excited to be going somewhere different. I'm not staying at a Port Aventura hotel. I'm at a place in Salou. Just so you know! However, I will certainly check out the place by Tukiti Splash! I love burgers! Thank you again.

^ Is that a 'you can't imagine it because it will be really busy' or literally, you can't imagine it because you haven't been at that time. You guys are more than welcome to post more advice by the way! That would be very helpful to me and my family. I have some more questions: - *Will it be busy at that time of year?* - *What places are best for food?* - Is the water park there worth going to. - Is the water park outside of Port Aventura worth going to? - Are the night openings worth going to? - Is there a good day plan/order to do things in? - *What rides get busy and when?* - *Is it better to go more than once/ twice / three times?* Thank you! P.S. *(question)* = Important question!

This sounds like a brilliant event and one which I really would love to come to. However, I feel with my 'young' age, I might feel a bit alienated. I know most of the people going will be 20+. Also, school isn't an issue as luckily, we're off. I just feel a tad reluctant with my age and things. Also, my parents feel with the air fare, its a bit much for just a one day event.

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
jason10 replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
15cm of snow and -5*C. FREEZING! The snow kept on coming all week. Never stoped It did for one day. It melted 'cause it got to a boiling 1*C. Then, that very same night, the temperatures plummeted and we got a heck of a lot of snow! Still, the school only opened 1 day out of five. I had real fun playing in the snow, but now my butt hurts from all the bumps in the hills from sledging. -

That looks awsome. I love the chains, especially if they are going to feel like a head chopper. You won't know until you ride. I can't wait until I see all of the theming for myself! Only 43 days to go and I will ride with Rollergirl. Oops... I mean Rollerboy. (Only joking) -
Coaster Question Game
jason10 replied to triggernel's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I believe its Furius Baco. It was Stealth (80mph) until FB came along. It's something like 83.9mph if I remember correctly. Needs confirmation though. -

Got mine a few days ago. I wore it all day. I went out sledging and snowball fighting in it. Best week ever! Thanks Robb and Elisa! -
^ That did happen once. There is a video on youtube however, it was a Vekoma Sit-down if I remember correctly. Surely, logic tells you to evac from the front, brake or no brake!

^ Thanks! That helped a lot. My mum is asking if they are re-fundable in the unlikely situation where it is too big or small. We'll send it back and stuff. I thought it was a silly question bet hey, my mum wanted to know. I'll probably get one though! -

jason10 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm considering buying one but, I would like to know how bog they are and what size is the best for me. Im 13 years old and am about 5'4". I take Small mens English sizes here but what is that in American sizes. I don't want to buy a TPR hoodie that is too small or too big! Thanks! -
I don't understand why people seem to think that SW6 is a B&M. On the plans, it clearly looks to be an Intamin or a company that uses a tri-rail track. Also, I highly doubt that alton would be clumsy enough to order, buy and get a ride manufactured before the plans are even accepted. The plans at the moment are being opposed by the lame people of Alton. The ruin every good idea Alton Towers comes up with. *End Rant* About the track, I personally have no idea what it will be used for. If it is for Alton, then great! But, I'm 99.9% it's not.

I was incredibly excited the moment I read about this! It looks to be smooth and it runs extremely well. The pacing is great. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product of the station as the renderings made it out to be very detailed. I also can't wait to see the inside pre-lift! Now, all we have to wait for is riding it! -
^ Surely that counts as an 'e'? I'll say: X:/WTF?
