I would like to go on another cruise at some point. I've been on two different ones, one on the Carnival Fascination in 2003, and one on Royal Caribbean's Sovereign of the Seas, in 2007. While I liked the ships, I never really got to do much on them, mainly because of my age and who I was with. I was going into high school when I went on my first cruise, and as such, was too old for the children's activities, and too young for everything else. When I went on my second cruise, it was a trip/ competition for my school choir, so I was pretty much required to be with them at all times. I would love to be able to go on a cruise and explore everything on my own terms, or maybe do a TPR cruise, if the opportunity ever presented itself (and if I had the financial means). I've been quite envious of my parents lately, as they've gone on a cruise every winter for the past four years, leaving me to be stuck at school.

The iTunes store raised prices on pretty much all popular songs to $1.29 each. So annoying!

Jason's Disney Theme Park Stuff
frozenflames replied to printersdevil78's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If there's anything worth collecting in my book, it's stuff from the Disney parks. This looks like it's shaping itself out to be quite a nice TR, and while I personally think WWTBAMis boring, I think all the stuff that you've shown from the play-able version is really cool! Very awesome how you win different prizes at various levels! -
Legoland CA / Robb's Birthday Cruise Photo TR

"That is, until the horrible woman (who had pitched a hissy fit and forced the TPR group to split in two for the ATV ride, so that her group could go first,) ignored the guides instructions, started up her ATV, and promptly ran into Todd and Christian, smashing Christian's hand. " UGH. I hate how people think that following instructions is beneath them, because they're too high and mighty for rules to apply, and then the stupidity leads to injury or worse. I hope your son's hand is okay. But anyway, this is definitely a nice report. It truly looks like you and everyone involved had a great time. It definitely makes me wish that I could participate in a TPR trip of some kind, just because everyone always looks like they're having a blast. -

Really great TR so far! I'm loving all the time you clearly devote to everything, and that you show much more detail. (Like the fact that this is the only TR fom this cruise that I've seen that's made it obvious that there are multiple zip lines in your excursion.) And seeing a TR that's more family-oriented is a refreshing change of pace. Plus your kids are so cute! -
To sort of quote Barbossa from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I think that's because people think height restrictions "are more like guidelines than actual rules." They seem to think that if their child is in the general ballpark range of the posted height, that they automatically can ride. But it sickens me, because these people seem to value a few minutes of fun on a ride much more than the mortality of their offspring.

My account is http://www.youtube.com/user/silverfairy614 . I don't have any coaster-related vids, just swing dance. All of my videos are from my school's Swing Club, which I am an active member in. I'm in most of the videos, although I can't really be individually identified. I should probably work on getting more videos to put up.

I most likely wouldn't ride the first one, mainly because I'm not a credit whore... I think the smallest/ most kiddy-like coaster I'll go on anymore is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. (But if I was with a big group of people who looked silly riding kiddy coasters, then I guess they would get me on too.) Also, I don't think I would feel comfortable riding on something that structurally resembles something built by a middle-school shop class. Having never been on a Tobaggan, I highly doubt I would find myself riding that second contraption either. It looks like it would make me feel as if my innards would be run through a cheese grater. Oy vey, no thanks.

When I was at Coney Island over the summer (July 4th to be exact), the whole area did look lie in was in desperate need of some TLC. There were some public areas, like in the bathrooms for the beach, that were downright grungy. Plus the whole time I was there with my family, I was holding my purse as close to me as possible, because I was so worried about getting something stolen, moreso than in any other part of New York. On the other hand, I think the best part of my day day was getting my Cyclone credit. I thought that was definitely a fun ride.

Mine is the album cover to Vertigo by Jump, Little Children, one of my favorite bands.

Coasters at Night
frozenflames replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think I've ever ridden anything but Roar at SFA at night. Well, I have also done night rides on Space Mountain, but that's indoors, so it's kind of irrelevant. Anyway, I've been on Roar tons of times, and that one night ride scared the bejeebers out of me. I probably should try to go to more parks at night, to get a different experience. -
Wow, this was... kind of awkward, but not in a terribly bad way. I only ever made it into the Wonders of Life pavilion once, when I was ten years old. I'm kind of glad I didn't see this when I was there, as it probably would have gone right over my head. But it's interesting to see just how much a theme park can really get into the educational role. On a side note, the scene in this movie where the "mom and dad" are at the dance highly entertained me. I'm in a club where all we do is that style of dancing (swing- notably Jitterbug and Lindy Hop), and it excited me to see two of my passions combined into one thing. I even recognzed the music as being Duke Ellington's "Take the 'A' Train."

Robb's Fantastic 40th Birthday Cruise!
frozenflames replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ths whole thread has kept me smiling and laughing the entire time! Fantastic update! I really want to meet more people from TPR now! -
Interesting concept you had there. I agree with what one poster said, though, about the captions being difficult to read at times. Maybe it was the font, or the size, or a combination of both, but I definitely had some trouble reading them. Also, what song did you use in the very beginning?

Robb's Fantastic 40th Birthday Cruise!
frozenflames replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think these updates are hilarious, and I think a TPR cruise would be a great idea! Where else would you be able to meet a bunch of crazy people that still seem completely awesome?? I would highly consider going on a TPR cruise, as long as I could afford it. -

Yom Holedet Sameach L'Atah, Robb! Which is Hebrew for Happy birthday to you!! A surprise cruise sounds like a great present! You are lucky to have friends and family that would do something like that! The cruise looks like it's going to be fun! -
Snakes- had a couple of very unnerving encounters with them when I was really little, and it's scarred me for life. Clowns- They're way too happy. Plus the opening of the James Bond movie Octopussy has someone dressed as a clown getting murdered, and the image of clown corpses freaks me out. Rejection- I'm terrified that people aren't going to accept me for who I am Failure- I'm really nervous that I'm not going to get anything out of my life, beacuse I fear that no matter how ahrd I try, it's never good enough. Staircases- If I try walking down a staircase that's more than five feet long, I always stumble and freeze. I literally have to force myslef to move. Probably the worst incident of this phobia happened when I was in Israel two years ago, at Masada, which is a city built on top of a cliff. There's a staircase leading down the cliffside that is fairly steep, has lots of switchbacks, and in several places, no railings. I had to be almost carried down because I was so scared, I was crying my eyes out and I could not move my legs.

TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index
frozenflames replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ When I was at SFA over the summer, I didn't notice ride signs for ANY of the ones you have listed. A large amount of the rides there are only named in the park maps, but don't actually have physical signs. -
Why thank you! Not bad considering I had only been awake about five minutes before thinking them up, lol! I wanted to do another swing dance-related one, but I couldn't think of anything that rhymed with the names of all the different aerials. (Plus I didn't think you would understand the references.)
