  1. Nice trip report! I definitely agree on the whole "escalator taking forever" thing, considering when I went to USH a few years ago, my dad actually fell asleep goind down that thing! Anyway, about ROTM, many people say that the Hollywood version sucks. All I can say is the Florida version kicks major butt becuase of many things: multiple launches (one being uphill), real fire, and that false ending is sweet. I liked how you rated everything!
  2. It isn't... If you go to the Comedy Central website, they have this little button that says "Mitch Hedberg: 1968-2005." Also, my sister told me he's been erased from MySpace, with something that says something like "member death" or something...
  3. Oh my gosh, I just found out that my favorite comedian, Mitch Hedberg, died today. It really sucks because he was really funny...
  4. Definitely use some music that has a really fast beat, and flows well with the footage. I can't really think of any particular song, but a lot of songs by Toy-Box and Aqua work really well. And oh yeah, whoever up there said that Toy-Box was from Japan? Yeah, they're definitely not. They're Swedish. Randi "Swedish pop music is fun!" Bass
  5. I'm Jewish. I'm not really religious, but i like certain aspects of Judaism. I have to say that the most "religious" I've ever been was nearly three years ago, when i was training for my Bat Mitzvah (working for 8 months trying to read five pages all in Hebrew- OY VEY!) The main problem with being Jewish is that nobody else really understands anything I do, like keeping Kosher, and all that stuff.
  6. SFA was the only SF park I've ever been to, well I have been to SFGAdv, but I was too young to remember it. SFA is a decent park, considering its location, plus its never really all that crowded, and clean for the most part. They do have a wide range of flat rides, plus some good coasters. In my opinion, the only realy bad thing about SFA was the water park, but now that it's getting redone, I'm likely to change that oppinion.
  7. I know there are accidents in theme parks, sometimes even fatal ones. Have you ever known anyone who's managed to potentially save a life that wasn't a memeber of park staff? My mom actually managed to save about 9 people's lives in 1984 at SFGA. She was with a whole group of friends, including my dad, and my aunt and uncle, and all of them wanted to go to the funhouse. On the way to the ride, my mom got really hungry, and suggested that the group go after eating dinner. While they were eating, people began running and screaming that the funhouse was on fire and was completely engulfed in flames. If my mom hadn't been hungry, her whole group of friends would have been INSIDE the funhouse at the time of the fire, which really would not have been good because every other person who was in the funhouse when it cought fire died. So thanks to my mom's growling stomach, she potentially decreased the death toll by half.
  8. The only ride i was ever stuck on was Escape From Pompeii in BGW. After waiting in line for over an hour, I finally managed to get on the ride, then it stopped just as my boat started up the lifthill, barely even out of the station. They made evryone get off the ride because a gear had broken and it would talk a while to fix it. My boat was lucky because we could just walk off the ride. I just felt bad for the people who couldnt be evacuated from the boat that was literally teetering over the edge of the drop for four hours.
  9. All I can say is THANK GOD! That waterpark has not been updated since I moved to Maryland nine years ago, unless you count that Crocodile Cal's Beachhouse as an update. A lot of those rides needed serious refurbishment, and hopefully, with this facelift, they'll get it. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that they're changing the name to Hurricane Harbor. It's so predictable. At least with Paradise Island, it was somewhat original. Well, at any rate, it will definitely be more fun to go to this year.
  10. What is the highest amount of times you've ridden one specific coaster? For me it was SFA's ROAR at 29 times, followed by SFA's Joker's Jinx at 17 times.
  11. I became an enthusiast after my first time riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Orlando... (hey i was three at the time!) Since then, I ride as many as I can, and i watch every coaster show I can. (i've even watched shows when I've been babysitting.) -Randi "I drive my parents/sister insane from all my coaster talk"Bass
  12. Waterparks are awesome! I haven't been to many of them (granted, i do live in the middle of Maryland where there aren't any around) but my faves are Wildwater Kingdom (next to DP), Wet n' Wild Orlando, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Bohrer Park (an itty-bitty place with two sildes), and Paradise Island (in SFA- thank god it's FINALLY getting updated!)
  13. Nothing is for certain yet, but definitely some of the local parks (for me at least) like SFA, and Hersheypark (perhaps with my school choir for a competition thing) and then MAYBE a trip to Europe (Switzerland, Venice, Rome, Florence, Monaco, Paris-but i defintely need to talk to the 'rents about THAT one... *sigh- be selfish and go, or be nice and go somewhere with my family-i'm confused*)
  14. Hey everyone, I'm Randi. I'm nearly 16, and live in possibly the most boring place on earth, aka Germantown Maryland. I have posted a few times on Westcoaster as MunkieRascal. I don't really have a fave coaster, but I love IOA. I hate my homepark (SFA) because there's nothing there. (At least their waterpark is FINALLY getting updated.) I love TPR, and i check the site at least twice a day for new updates, but that's only because I have no form of life whatsoever! Randi "Can't wait for summer so I can ride some coasters" Bass
