Wild West World P:TR
Axman replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They need at least one really good coaster to hit it big. That's what did it for Beech Bend and Holiday World. Beech Bend has yet to come close to fully maturing, but Holiday World is the fruitful success that was sparked by just one good coaster. -

Too Cool!!! I never would have guessed a wine theme! The train ar funny and awsome at the same time!!!!! -
Which is better? Shockwave or Mindbender? Mindbender is built into the terrain, which is part of what makes it such a good ride. It's my #1 sit-down looping coaster, I think.

Excellent TR. SFOT and SFFT are on my extremely long list of parks I need to visit. I can't belive that SanAntonio's Journey to Atlantis is nothing but a giant boat chute! Don't all of the other ones have, like, dark ride aspects to them?!?! SFOT's Batman looks naked. There isn't any theming around the ride, besides the station. The yellow looks awsome, but it just doesn't suit this coaster. Rattler Rattler is a testimate to how badly you can butcher a coaster

I can't belive I'm about to do this, but I am going to BASH CF!!!!! Dorney Park was really awsome, and so was their waterpark. However, the biggest slide complex had endless stairs and BLACK CARPET for the entire queue. My feet were actually burned on the bottom by the end of the day... -
* sigs and then smiles to no one in particular*.......I love Kennywood. It's home to two of my top ten rollercoasters!

Favorite ride queue lines

Dragons all the way! Hulk and Mummy were fantastic as well. The worst queues are any kind of wet/dry slide (Yosemite Sam's Sidewinder,{SFMM} Western Chute Out {Hersheypark}). When theres no line, you get completely winded trying to get to the top. When there is a line, It moves 3 ft. every 5 mins. -

Why must they replace a defenseless Windstorm with a supposedly painful flying coaster? -
Belive it or not, I've never really been scared of a roller coaster. The closest thing I can think of was my 2nd ride on the Ninja at SFOG, becuase I knew it would hurt like Hell. Why did I ride it twice? Who knows... Truth be told, I've never passed up a roller coaster for any reason what-so-ever. Not even fear.

I wish they had built that "Alton Bahn" coaster back in 1991. It was going to be one of the longest coasters ever; built by Schwarzkopf. The model reminded me of Lisebergbahnan.

I went in 1999 and had a blast. The park was still milking Wild Thing as their new coaster, so there wasn't many other "big" rides to speak of. I enjoyed all of the coasters except Excalibur, because it was it was just short and bumpy. I remeber them having a nice collection of flat rides, Like Trabant and Northern Lights, as well as an inviting little water park. Before the Power Tower was Tot Spot, which was an unnecessary kiddie play area. They already had Camp Snoopy and Bearenstein Bear Land at the time. Also, the area home to the sky coaster and mini golf was a seperate area from the actuall park, like CP's "Challenge Park". With the addition of Steel Venom, it seems they decided to open it all up, which was an other good decision. Wild Thing was intense and full of air, Corkscrew was painless, and High Roller was a fantastic classic woodie. Wild Mouse was also quite good, and extremely smoothe for a wild mouse. Things seem to have only improved for that park since I went, so I hope to go there again some day. -

The new managment for these parks seemes a bit lack lustre. Elich and Darien both look somewhat boring without all of the SF craziness. -
Scary.

What is your favorite coaster year?
Axman replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Thank You and my mistake. I can't belive I was the first one to post 1927. 1924 w/ Giant Dipper, Pippin, and Euclid Beach and Riverside Park's Thriller recieves my "classic coaster honorable mension". ^No, seroiusly. Ghostrider is the best coaster I've ever ridden, and I really love Great Bear. It's 3rd for Inverts behind the Dragons. Has anyone said 1999? I belive that year holds the record for most new roller coasters. Yay for Islands of Adventure! -
Mile High Falls @ Kentucky Kingdom is an other big one. Apparently, It's the only good SF shoot-the-chute ride. We sat in the frot row of that one, and got the wind knocked out of us when we hit the water. We slammed into the padded bar so hard!!!
-
Didn't Corkscrew used to be yellow? It's whiter than Eminem!
-
I've ridden that ride sooooooo many times, as PGA was my home park, and each time, I got sick floater time and totally soaked. That drop IS fun, isn't it? I don't know how you didn't get wet! I wish there were more Shoot the Chute rides like Dorney and Hershey's. They're 1/2 way between shipwreck falls and Hydro. A safe medium.

I hate Perilous Plunge from pg. 1. That was back when it had the sh!ty harnesses...
