A new kind of Intamin Harness?
Axman replied to Milkchan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, so that monster used to just have a lap bar?! No wonder she died. Those stupid life-vest-deals were probably an un-orgonized respond to the accident. Still, the new harnesses look like over-kill. Sorry. No pun intended. -
beacause someone will be sue happy and sue them for hurting their neck flipping to many times I know; That's why I winked. It really is a pity.

What is your favorite Stand Up coaster?
Axman replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Georgia Schorcher is my favorite. It was the last stand-up to ever be built, so it's probably the smoothest. There aren't really any stand ups that I don't like. Riddler pulled too many +Gs for me, but I liked Mantis, Chang, King Cobra, and Vortex (GA). I didn't realize how many stand ups i've been on until just now... I never rode Shockwave/Batman: The Ride, and the other Togos are destined to close, so I probably won't get a chance to ride them either. I look forward to riding Carowinds Vortex, which I hear is smooth, but not necessarily Iron Wolf. It's notoriously bumpy; So is La Ronde's Cobra(or so I hear). Intiman supposedly never made good stand-ups. -

PP's restrains are similar. The operations for that ride used to be outrageously slow. I rode it 1st season, and the harnesess were like these adjustable life vests. They were difficult to operate, and slow to check. Before After -

Be afraid. Be very afraid. One night, when you, and Elissa, and Kid Tums, are sleeping, I'll come into you're bedroom and............................................................................... ...................................HIT YOU UP FOR A TRIP TO MAGIC MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!! -
Now, why can't the U.S. have something like that? I love Top Spins, but this would probably make me hate them.

That's really is wierd. Just between the video and the picture, It's easy to tell that they're different. -
I thought it would be a cute ride, but it was a huge suprize! Kennywood was the suprize of my PA trip. It was our first park and we weren't expecting much. Phantom and Jack Rabbit are now in my top 10! The combined airtime on those coasters are f**king sick! I think we rode them each 4-5 times. A few more under-rated coasters: Exterminator @ Kennywood Very thrilling with an excellent theme and design. Awsome fire effects. Great Bear @ Hershypark Everyone says it's a stupid B&M. I say thats bullsh!t! Deffinetly the best 1st drop on any inverted coaster. Hydra @ Dorney Park It may not be rip-ass forcefull, but its a REALLY great ride! Its nice for families, and produces great floater time in the back seat.

I forgot to post that one. It's so true. It's the only coaster Ive ever been on that doesn't have an actual lap bar. My knees actualy hit the handle bar on the Double-Dip!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It really is. Great Airtime!

A new kind of Intamin Harness?

I noticed that too. After ridding Storm Runner, and then riding Xcelerator, I though that shooting out of the station was kind of strange.....and maybe a bit dangerous for bystanders. -

Well, seeing as Zaturn beat Maverick to the opening, I couldn't call Maverick's restraints "old". I can't help but think that Zaturn's may be better for some reason. Has anyone noticed these on any other Accellerator coaster? -

I loved the pics! Especially of Matterhorn; It's one of my all-time FAVORITE coasters! -

That's odd. I looks a lot like the Kingda Ka/Storm Runner/etc. harness, but with extra padding near the buckle area. I wonder if Mavrick wil have these... -
Gemini @ CP The airtime is fantastic in the back car. They were running 3 trains on BOTH sides during my visit, so the line was short. Take that Magic Mountain! Racer @ KI Front seat is nice, but Back seat is AWSOME! backwards airtime is a sensation to BEHOLD! Ninja @ MM Best ride in the park IMHO. Nice theming, pretty terrain, Short lines. It may not be as fast as KI's Top Gun, but this ride has the perfect hillside location that simply MAKES the ride. Wildcat @ CP Cool colors, fast operations, and a glass smooth ride, with bits of floater time! Iron Dragon @ CP It has an actual FIRST DROP, unlike Ninja, but has a long ride, unlike Top Gun. It's the best of both worlds. Absolutely no line. Corkscrew @ CP 3 train operation during my trip. Unbelivable. There was barely enogh room on the track for 3 trains! Smoothest Arrow looper I've been. High Roller @ Valleyfair Excellent airtime and folding lap bars. NICE!!! Psycho Mouse @ GA Smooth turns, comfortable cars, and airtime. To this day, the only non-spinning mouse coasters I can enjoy are Arrow's. Flashback @ MM I rode it when I was 7. It opened up for an hour at the end of the day, so I squeesed in a ride. I loved it, and I felt no pain what-so-ever. I never got to ride it again

^^ Talon was actually an excellent ride. This, of course is coming from a backseat Hydra fan. I thought it was MORE forcefull than Batman the ride, and defintly a better ride, layout wise.
-
I love Dorney It's like a mini Cedar Point, with a Floorless instead of a stand-up. Speaking of which, Hydra is actually my favorite floorless. Granted it was my second one, but I liked it better than Marine World's Medusa. All of hydra's elements are unique as opposed to cookie-cutter, and that's a rarety among B&Ms. You MUST ride in the back seat, or else the ride is too tame. The first drop has nice floater time

I had no idea that BPPB had a money problem. This was a damn good addition for any park that can't make ends meet. I hope a lot of people show up to give it a whirl. I feel like I've come to my senses. I think that if Blackpool can do for Infusion what they do for their other coasters, then I'm sure it will be worth the ride. -

^^^^ ouch... Really un-called-for. Bottom Line: I haven't been on a Vekoma I've loved. The closest thing to that would be Magic Mountian's Deja Vu. B&M, to me, is on a totaly different level above Vekoma. SLCs have always seemed like a rough and cheap ride, though they are fun to an extent. B&Ms have always seemed like the virtual line of perfection. High capacity, a smooth ride, and a reliable mechanism. Vekomas in general, are less enjoyable than B&Ms. For every rule, such as this one, there are always exceptions. I'm sure some Vekomas are very smooth, but may not be in the future. B&Ms stay smoother longer because they are a better quality ride. Basically, what Blackpool's decision is saying to me is that they don't want to spend money on a better ride, but instead, jazz-up a used cheap ride that will eventualy become painful in coming years. Am I the only one who thinks that is a problem? I frow apon this decision, because I always thought of BPPB to have better jugement than that. I don't know if any of you agree with me, but if you could, just bare with me and accept my opinion. I'm a but confused now. I never hear the end of how much a boomerang or SLC hurts. So many people talk about them like they're awful. I knoe from experience that thier pretty rough. How is it that we don't HATE them? -Alex"Cut me some friggin' slack"Dickey -

My generalization may have been exagerated, but there really aren't many Vekomas that are better than B&Ms. There just can't be. Everybody HATES Vekoma too much for that to be possible The fact that Infusion will stay a good ride is actually besides the point. As important as that is, I think it's more important for Blackpool to stick to its roots. I they had built a Balder-sized woodie in that spot, then I would be much more satisfied with their decision. It just seems as though Blackpool decided to take the easy way out of building their next new coaster. They plopped in a cheap cookie cutter instead of a custom ride, which is NOT what I've come to expect from them. However, despite the differences the ride posses from the rest of the park, It does look stunning. Plus, the locals are pleased, and the park finally has something different. -

Man.... Their coaster terminology is wharped! Every B&M is better than every Vekoma. The very berst Vekoma isn't as good as the worst B&M. How could they say that Infusion is better? It sounds to me, like if Blackpool were to open an indoor Boomerang(or of the likes), the European would sh1t themselves and call it the best ride ever. Phooey! -

^ I'm agreeing with you. Coasterdude brings up a good point. Infusion is a polar opposite of anything the park already has. Also, SLCs haven't spread themselves quite as thick is Europe as they have in America. Also (again), America doesn't have any of those custom SLCs like Europe does. Kumali and Odyssey make up a good sized chunk of the SLC population out there don't they? -

I don't think this was a good idea on Blackpool's part. All of the coasters at Blackpool are either one-of-a-kind, or a dieing breed. Infusion is the 2nd biggest, full-sized cookie-cutter in the world. If this turns into a rough piece of sh1t like all of the other SLCs, Blackpool will regret it. Regardless, Infusion happenss to be the best looking "cookie-cutter" SLC, and it seems like a good ride......for now.
