  1. I don't think so... If you go to a KY rest stop, look for a park brochure. There may be some clippable coupons to be had. BTW, when I was at a rest stop, I stumbled across a SFKK brochure. Compared to previous years, it was extremely lack-lustre. There were only a few pictires, and the background was an unflatering grey. Shapiro must be cutting brochure funds.
  2. Are "HamStalls" like Half Pipe coasters?
  3. If you can find the park, don't hesitate to squeeze in a short day. 3 hours at the most is all you need, on any given day. Rumbler is a 100% re-ridable coaster, though.
  4. I've done Super Slides before. I almost broke my tailbone last time...
  5. I had a really great time at Beech Bend! There were no crowds to speak of, and I did just about everything in under 4 hours! They have blue bunny Ice cream and BBQ for a good price, and $5, souvineer, re-fillable drink cups. The KR Cafe has a really nice gift shop with some cool T's and candies. The park felt a bit like a carnival, but the employees were all really nice, and the operations were quick and well timed. KR was running really well. The front seat provided the best view, while the back provided the wildest ride. Lots of airtime and fan turns to be had. Looping Star was good, but could use a little paint. The new trains were really nice, and made the ride somewhat rideable. The Wild Mouse was a suprisingly good ride. The very last part of the ride is nuts! I hope you all enjoyed my largest trip report ever! Please visit Beech Bend the next time you are in the south!
  6. Part 4 Wild Mouse and more Karnival Krazyness Good Bye Beech Bend. I'll miss you. Wild Mouse *THROUGH THE TREES* Here's an over view of Splash Lagoon. I decided to shoot a few more panoramic shots before we left. One last shot of The Rumbler before we head back. We had the whole train to ourselves that time! It's fairly decent for a traveling log flume. Technicolor logs are the way 2 be The Sizzler was brand new, and is one of the few rides that is actualy in a perminet state. I be chillin' in my Sizzlin' purple car. The Sizzler was cool. It's a snazy new take on an old favorite. ...and there it is. Time for my shameless Rock'n'Tug credit. Seeing as they are getting old, my parents started to get a little tired. O.K. log flume, why don't you squeeze in there next to KR. 1, 2, 3, CHEESE!!! This really is a beautiful park. Simple, but beautiful in its own right. Gold Mine Mini Golf and Panning for Gold. These attractions looked cool, but we skipped them this trip. Trees *THROUGH THE FERRIS WHEEL* There are so many possible captions for this picture... 1. 3 credits in one shot! Whoot! 2. KR *THROUGH THE TREES* 3. Dragon Wagon was closed. No credit whoreing today! Which do YOU think is the best? Here are some kiddie rides, but where are all the kiddies? This is the "Kick Ass UT-inspired Tilt-A-Whirl". I feel bad for these guys. They were having fun, though. A few kids came and danced with them for a bit. Boaties! I have man boobs. Coaster man boobs. The coaster dorks have ridden their mouse to the top! LOOK! There they are again. The old man was quite happy to be there... Wow... Just LOOK at those coaster dorks... Classic cool signage. This particular mouse look like it's gonna puke... Mild Mouse was really cool. The mice were painted crazy colors, to go with the log flume. Hooray for Wild Mouse and its awsome signage!
  7. Scat hasn't opened yet! I was almost devistated.
  8. Part 3 Karnival Krazyness! I really loved Dick! Come back for part 4! Dick was cranked up all the way! Beech Bend really does have some of the best flats! Prepairing for Dick. Ooh, look! It's a Wild Mouse teaser! Time to take a ride on Dick--er--MOBY Dick. All of the rides throughout the park were in really good condition. Michael Jackson made his appearence Verminous rats are high in fiber! The one on the left is an ACEr. The artwork was classic. My dad pretended to look scared, but I couldn't stop laughing! It was freakin hilarious! THIS IS THE CHEEZIEST DARK RIDE EVER!!!!!!!! They had just greased the slide. I decided to skip that one. Pretty in pink, I think! Those kids got the piss scared out of 'em. It gives you the kind of rip you get off of First gen. Intiman freefalls. Shock drop KICKED ASS! It drops you as soon as you reach the top. There's now waiting once you get up there! It's wicked! Looks like they're having fun. HAHAHAHAH!!!!! Poor lonely girl had no one to bump!
  9. Please do! Beech Bend is a really great park, and their trying really hard to be more than just a carnival. *BEECH BEND TRIP TIP* On a slow day, like the day these pictures were taken, you can conquer the park easily in 4 hours. If you go to the park after 3, admission is 1/2 price! If you go on a slow day, where the park is open til 9 or 10, then you can get the entire day in, in just a few hours, for half price!!! There were absolutely no lines when I went, and I rode almost everything once, Shock Drop 5 times (it's freaking awsome), and Kentucky Rumbler 6 times. We were only there for 3 1/2 hours. The operations are quick, and the operators are kind and friendly. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!
  10. Part 2 Farm Animals and Pinfari Looping Death Machine!!! Part 3 comes soon! Damnit! This shot was almost perfect! Damn my damnable fingers! The drops were smooth, and the turns carried an acceptable amount of roughness! The trains were brand new, and had really coushy harnessess. The ride was actually really great! ...it was.... AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh shit... Time to sneek up int the PLDM from behind. By baby pony! I'll miss you!! It's a parade of baby goat cuteness! OMFGCUTE!!!!!AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! ...except this one, who was buisily climbing the rock inside the barn. All of the babies that weren't sleeping, were busing following their mothers... Baby goats know how to live! Snoozing on the grass in between rides would be nice... This one said "I wanna be in the TR too!" Cute things ensued. ...yes Kentucky Rumbler, you're cute too... OMFGCUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the goat mommys. It was quite fond of me, and tried the climb on my legs and give my shirt a nibble! These sheep-type guys were grazing under the trees. Baby goats n' sheep n' whatever... The pony was born a few days ago, and there were several baby goats all over the place! Oh, wait! That not a rock with a tail! That's just baby pony! The is the famous "Rock with a Tail" exibit. This was a somewhat un-over-pictured shot of KR, taken from INSIDE the petting zoo! OMFG!!!! They're so cute!!! This is the darling baby pony and his mommy. Time to visit the petting zoo!
  11. Moving on... I have a LOT more picture of this great park. Part 2 comes tomorrow, featuring baby animals, an orange Tilt-A Whirl, and an up-side-down clown! Stay tuned! If you can see the train, e-Mail me! axman8291@yahoo.com From here, that lady really does look like she's not wearing a shirt of any kind! This overbanked turn was also quite fun. This drop was great. I wonder if it felt like the Aeroplane Coaster's drop... Twinkies I just ran out of caption ideas. That last one wore me out! Guy in front: "That kid with the camera is an idiot." Girl in front: "My hair is creepy." Guy in middle "I'm a-scared!" Lady in back: "I'm pretending to have fun." Girl in back: "Mom, are you wearing a top?" Coaster *THROUGH THE COASTER* These aren't as cool as Thunderhead's, but they're still awsome. KR was incredible! Really fast, with nice airtime and smooth transitions. My mom is cameraly challenged on close-up shots. We had the entire train to ourselves, and the ride ops were nice enough to give us a re-ride! My dad and I are ready for our ride! My tribute to bad pic entusiasts. I was really bright out when I took this picture, but for some reason, it got a lot darker. Did I mention the park was packed today? My tribute to lift hill enthusiasts. In Kentucky, logs come in several bright, natural colors. There we are again! The crazy people with the flailing arms are me and my dad. In case you didn't know, this is the Kentucky Rumbler.
  12. Though it's not opening weekend or season pass processing, it's good enough I had an AWSOME time at Beech Bend, and I took some nice pictures, which are only six hours old as I'm writing the sentence. PART 1: Arrival with general park and Kentucky Rumbler pics. The PLDM was trying to hog all of the attention from across the lake, so the Bumper Cars had to teach it a lesson! It's..... LOG FLUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...oh, and kentucky rumbler. It was tea time when I took this picture! Oh Noes! Pinfari Looping Death Machine! RUN AWAY!!! Things happening at the place. Cedar Point/Dollywood fandad alert! The Go-Karts looked cool, but they were also southern. Go Karts+In The South+Bad Idea 3 seconds later, whilst inside the entrance building, Power Surge STILL would not cooperate! The Zamperla POS was not cooperating today. Oh well... A modest entrance for a good park. ...and my parents are dorks! Yay! KeNtUcKy RuMbLeR! Beech Bend had a nice vantage piont from the parking lot. Apparently, there is a new CAR cloaking device available for the park goers of Kentucky. Yay! We're here! The blury Kentucky Rumbler was here to greet us. Equiped with proper reading materail, I set out with my parents on an adventure to Bowling Green, Kentucky!
  13. This is sickening. I don't even want to think about it. I fear the worst for Shockwave.
  14. I rode my first looper when I was 4. Desert Storm and Patriot were the only coasters at my disposal at the time, but they were good enough. Desert Storm!!!
  15. ^^ I totaly agree with you about Magic Mountain. It might as well be closed.
  16. WHERE THE HELL IS DUBAI DAVE?!?!?!?! He must know this by know.... OMFG!!!!!!! This park looks better then Hardrock!!!!!!!!
  17. Ohh, I just love Dollywood! In 10 hours, I rode every ride, Thunderhead 3 times, and between lunch and dinner, I ate a box of Potato Skins, 2 scoops of ice cream, 1 handful of saltwater taffy, and an entire bag of multi-colored Kettle Korn! Dollywodd has the best themepark food ever! There were no lines, so I could take my time, do lots of shopping, and take lots of pictures. Timber Tower is nothing special. Do not regret missing it much.
  18. Are there any good versions of Southport's Funhouse still aroud? I'm sure they wouldn't fly in America anymore, but maybe there's an other one in Europe somewhere? I want to ride ride all of the "Human Roullette Wheels" and the likes. They look dangerously fun!
  19. This may not have even been a taste of pain to begin with, though. I get to ride my very first Pinfari LOOPING death machine this Sunday!!!!OMFG!!!! My first Pinfari was one of those "This looks absolutely NOTHING like Schwartzkopf Wildcat" coasters. It had lap bars, so it wasn't painful. The scary thing was that the bars couldn't lock until after you leave the station! If you weren't lucky, your ride could have been like this: , only, without returning to your seat.
  20. I hate to break it to you, but I think that "The Mighty Axe" is closing for the Avatar coaster. It's the only place in the park that has room. I'm sorry. I guess the one at SFA is gone too?
  21. They must have changed the program... I rode Rip Tide right after Silver Bullet opened, and RT was easlily one of the most wicked rides ever! I cuoldn't belive that it spun that fast! It was a true spectical, and is WAY better than Hammerhead Shark!
  22. You discovered the missing Vekoma Suspended! Whoot!
  23. Wow... We ARE geeks, aren't we? To be honest, I've only ridden one Vekoma that was unbearable. I've ridden 2 SLCs, 2 Invertigos, 1 Giant Invertigo, 2 Boomerangs, 1 Jr. SLC, and several smaller coasters, but the only one that was down-right sh1ty, was Ninja at SFOG. There is just no f%@#ing excuse for such a ride. Kong at Marine World is a distant second, but everything else i've listed was actually quite enjoyable. Especially Deja Vu. Sorry about the commas. I'm an aspiring english major, so almost everything I write now, is delicately intricate, and meticulacly positioned. I'll make my future posts easier to read.
