TPR Front Page RE-Design Contest!
STR8FXXXINEDGE replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with this! I think if DKR took his font color and style and put in on ILoveRides menu bar, it would be a perfect combo. -
I loved this update, Big Mike! I'm half embarrassed to say this, but I love Jersey Shore, haha. I went to Seaside right before the TPR North East trip this summer, and I spotted Snooki, Deena, Sammi, and Ronnie on the boardwalk playing games with a huge crowd of people around, the MTV crew, and a bunch of security. I didn't even realize I was THAT close to the house, or I would have run over and snapped a couple pics. Oh well, I'd love to go back anyway! P.S. Do we have 'till Friday again this week to get our ducky guesses in?

TPR Front Page RE-Design Contest!

I like the way the black outline looks, but to me, it makes the top of the page look like it's from a different website than the bottom of the page. I think if it's gonna be outlined with black, then some sort of text near the bottom of the page should be outlined in black as well. But really, I think it just feels simpler, cleaner, and more up to date without it. If you can't tell, I've made up my mind. I personally like it without the outline better, haha. EDIT: Had to edit to also say that I really like how the Theme Park Review logo looks on the top of the page without the tagline below it. Much cleaner! -

^ Haha, yeah... I guess now that I see it both ways, they both look good. I think it all looks a bit more cohesive without the black outline, though. Either way, nice job! -

I haven't commented or submitted a design yet, but I have been following along since page one. This one that David just did is definitely my favorite so far. It's clean, simple, and I really like the feel of it. The only thing that I think I would try different, would be to see how it looks without the black outline on the words in the menu. To me, it kinda cheapens the design. I like how the letters used on the bottom of the page look with no outline. Besides that though, I love everything about it. -
Best Drop Ride!!!

For me, it's most definitely Mystery Castle at Phantasialand in Brühl, Germany. -
POOP!!! I missed the one at the Daim game, and the one on the bench. The Daim game ducky is plain as day now that it has been pointed out, but the ducky on the bench is still hard for me to see. I checked that photo SO hard, multiple times, cause there was so much white that I knew there had to be a ducky in it. I was right, but couldn't find the damn thing, haha! Anyway, I'm loving all the updates, Big Mike! I'm looking forward to tomorrows Find the Ducky game!

Here's a funny one for you... I waited in line for 4.5 hours to ride Millennium Force when it first opened. In the rain. Then I didn't even get to ride the damn thing. Ouch! I went back the next day and waited another 3.5 hours. This time, I actually got to ride it. Like a few others have said; the only way I'd wait in a line that long again, is if I was somewhere far, far away and I knew I wouldn't be back for a LONG time.

^ You're late to the party. This was posted a few pages back. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1118017#p1118017 -
I love to ride bikes! Whether it's just cruising around town, riding muddy trails, or mountain biking. I love it all! I try to ride as much as possible. I was riding somewhere between 15 to 45 miles almost everyday, pretty much every summer, but this summer was a different story, as I was really busy. I've got a few different bikes and I have a wireless CatEye cycling computer that I can interchange to keep track of how far I'm riding. Love that thing! Here is a pic of me towards the end of last summer at the Michigan Forest Visiting Center - Old Growth Forest just before getting muddy in the Hartwick Pines trails. We were actually on our way up to cruise around Mackinac Island for the day, but the weather was pretty crappy, and you want to enjoy the island when it's beautiful out. So, we just decided to stop here and have fun with the off and on rain and take the challenge of the trails. It was a blast!

I don't know who the manufacture is/was, but I LOVED riding that thing. I remember every once in a while, you would catch some crazy airtime! I remember being super bummed when they took it out.

The same exact thing happened to me at SFOG! I remember putting my hands out on the back of the seat in front of me to brace myself. My friend that was sitting next to me thought it was the funniest thing ever. He's like "Just let go and relax, dude!", but I was ready to sh!t my pants! Another time, at a carnival when I was little, I was on the Super Loop/Ring of Fire when they held it upside down, and I literally almost fell out of the damn thing. The restraint that was supposed to be at your waist/stomach, was literally on my shins and I was basically hanging by my feet. That was the last time I ever rode one of those.
