  1. Giant Dipper @ SCBB (1924), I think.
  2. If Knott's did a topper track makeover (full or partial) on GhostRider and, whether with new trains or not, made this thing rideable in every seat again, it may move into my top 3 all time. Right now, having to ride exclusively in rows 1 or 3 to escape a spinal adjustment, detracts from the experience way too much. Even then, you have to know how to ride the thing to avoid a beating. The layout of the coaster is nearly perfect and if the PTC trains can stop shredding this thing I would ride it endlessly. Having Twisted Colossus a few hours from me and an A+ GhostRider down the street would truly be a dream come true. Fingers crossed this happens. I'd be a little less ecstatic about an I-Box conversion unless there was some worthwhile re-profiling that would take place, which I don't think this coaster necessarily needs the way other RMC projects have.
  3. Xcelerator takes this honor for me. The Premier "Sky Rocket II" may win out though after riding one of those this year at BGW.
  4. Absolutely: Knott's Berry Farm (pass) Six Flags Magic Mountain (pass) Carowinds* King's Dominion* Busch Gardens Williamsburg* Likely: Disneyland Sea World San Diego Possibly: California's Great America Six Flags Discovery Kingdom* Cedar Point
  5. Ooo we have fresh new stairs & handrails on blue side
  6. Great TR Caroline. Loved getting to relive all these memories through your perspective. Also, Nathan forgot #wheelseat.
  7. 5 minute dispatches on Mamba?! That's insane. How long did we time on Viper, was it 3+ minutes?
  8. I'll be at the park on Monday and snaps some photos that aren't heavily filtered so we can get a sense of the actual colors.
  9. Shouldn't you sort of ride those before passing judgement? I mean... it's not like you skipped Corkscrew, Mantis and Woodstock's Express... you haven't ridden 3 of their top attractions (one of which is still considered the best steel coaster in the world in a lot of coasters polls). That would be like me saying Great Adventure is just alright but I haven't ridden El Toro, Kingda Ka or Nitro. I was hoping I misread batman's post. But... nope.
  10. Basing my opinions of attendance on weekdays in July this year, here are my thoughts: 1) Crowds will be light. Weather will be your biggest obstacle. On my first day, I was able to get on every coaster at least once (Maverick, MF, TTD & Magnum I was able to get on multiple times) without the need for FL or FL+. I purchased FL+ on the second day strictly for being able to re-ride Maverick, TTD, and MF a bunch, which was worth it (as rain shut a good deal of the coasters down for about 2-3 hours, so time needed to be made up). 2) If you're staying at a CP hotel, take advantage of early entry to get on Maverick and MF while lines are short, especially if you are considering not purchasing FL+, as Maverick will likely be at least 45+ minutes all day. When the park opens, head to TTD first (usually not open for early-admission), and then work your way around the park as you wish. 3) Pipe Scream, Giant Wheel, Windseeker, Cedar Downs Racing Derby, and MaXair are all worth checking out. 4) I prefer front seats, but there isn't a bad seat on Maverick or TTD. Do NOT ride in a third row (3, 6, 9, 12, 15) on Magnum, in any car. The back outside seats on Gatekeeper provide the most intensity, but the front is also worth a ride. 5) Avoid even-numbered rows (wheel seats) and you'll be fine. This ride isn't nearly as rough as people say, it is just slow and does not have any airtime. Ride it and judge for yourself. 6) I stayed at Breakers and had a pleasant experience. Proximity to the park and its many entrances is unbeatable. Breakers Express will likely have the best nightly rates though.
  11. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/attractions/twisted-colossus/overview
  12. Can we stop calling this a Mobius coaster? It only passes through the station once, when you load/unload. Think of it more like Beast; really long, with two lift hills.
  13. I think mine would go something like Maverick Millennium Force (or maybe Fury 325?) Voyage Banshee Xcelerator
  14. Great trip report A.J. Can't wait for more!
  15. ^ People clearly aren't watching the whole video.
  16. I think mine had to be Xcelerator in 2002, and then California Screamin' in 2003.
  17. Now we can all just keep anticipating the full POV & more renderings
  18. I think mine had to be Batman @ SFMM. Maybe it was Riddler's Revenge though. It would've been around 1999/2000. My favorite is Tatsu.
  19. #wheelseat Great TR, can't wait to see the rest. Surprised night rides on Beast weren't a 10 for you.
  20. Awesome! I wonder if this will prompt a lift hill re-design, a la Goliath @ SFGAm.
  21. On a more speculative note, when the video does show 3 trains simultaneously (2 on course and 1 on brake run), two of the three are red, and the other purple. Thoughts, if this ends up being the final color scheme and number of trains? I wouldn't mind seeing a red, a purple, and a black if we're only getting 3.
