  1. Thinking of swinging by the park this evening. Will post if any of the damage is visible like it was in 2009.
  2. Fingers crossed for them to be able to fix it soon... less than a month until WCB.
  3. I thought so at first too, but looking at stills of the trains on Montu & Silver Bullet they appear to be about the same width, with the edge rider's inner shoulder just under the rails.
  4. Even if its only temporary... better than nothing.
  5. Ghostrider at KBF last night. Some real pain. Worth it.
  6. You shouldn't need Fast Lane if you're going on a weekday evening. The longest lines you'll probably face are Montezooma's (depending on how they're managing FL), and Ghostrider, neither of which should top 30 minutes. Was there last night and was able to hit Sidewinder, Jaguar, Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, and Ghostrider in under 2 hours.
  7. Made a quick trip to Knott's last night around 8pm. 2 train operation on Xcelerator seems to be keeping things moving pretty well. Fast Lane over at Montezooma's absolutely murdered the wait time -- ended up being about 35 minutes to get in any seat, despite the queue being only upstairs. No management at all of how many FLers were boarding compared to the queue, just shoveling FL on. Coast Rider wasn't trimmed at all, though. Makes for one of the better Wild Mouse layouts out there when this is the case, IMO. Line for that was only about 2 minutes as the park was closing.
  8. Does Tatsu's dual-load station count for a 5th block? Always wondered about that...
  9. +1 to both of these. Even though it will be early Saturday and there shouldn't be many cars on the road, there is a TON of construction happening on I-5 through south LA (between La Mirada & Huntington Park) that they usually work on until around 10am on weekend mornings.
  10. Just PM'd Doug. Maybe we can get a mass PM going with the solos to coordinate?
  11. Per Screamcape: (7/25/13) More bad news for those hoping to ride Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion. According to Screamscape sources the train has finally been removed from the lift hill so the repairs can begin, but we shouldn’t expect to see the ride reopen until late August or early September at this point. (7/14/13) More bad news for the while Intimidator 305 problem… word has it that the ride is closed while they wait for some kind of custom gear box part to be made to repair the cable lift hill system. I think that's the most we have right now...
  12. Ditto. I was considering making a trip out to VA from CA solely to ride I305 this summer, but once the ride reopens I think my window will be too small at the end of summer to book the trip and go. Next spring can't come soon enough.
  13. If you mean running a train backwards, and if this was something SFMM elected to continue doing, I'm sure it's something either RMC or Gerstlauer could accommodate. That's of course if SFMM was willing to fork over the $$ they saved cutting corners on YOLO Plaza.
  14. Like many others have said, I'll be attending solo as well. Let's meet up and turn it into a YOLO!
  15. Once did 34 laps on Xcelerator on a rainy day without having to re-queue.
  16. A few people do... which is better than nothing I guess.
  17. ... What? Maybe try out a Togo.
  18. This is how I'm leaning as well. I tend to prefer woodies and would love to ride a brand new GCI. I also have a new Premier with Full Throttle down here at SFMM which seems to be getting better reviews than SUF...
  19. So I had a quick question and I figured this thread might be good for a micro poll. I'll be heading up to San Francisco the weekend of 8/10 and have a free day where I can fit in 1 Norcal park. Should I make it SFDK or CGA? Never been to either, so I'm looking at 8 credits either way. Votes and reasons? Thanks everyone for their input.
  20. Cobra rolls. Either painful in the case of boomerangs, or tame in comparison to other elements in the case of B&Ms. Would much rather prefer a Pretzel on B&M flyers.
  21. When I was 8, my mom forced me on the former Windjammer at KBF as I was kicking and screaming. Life has never been the same since.
  22. You'll be fine. Streets will be busy after Haunt and there should be plenty of security/police present.
