We do...then again, I dont think they were talking to us. Stop butting in on other peoples conversation! Lol...the image on the main site is designed to arouse interest in the general public more so than with us. BTW....Construction Update: Cement trucks, drilling trucks, and squirrels oh my! Footer pouring has begun. We have our first real bendy track pieces, some more other track pieces, and some more handrails. A piece of the Revolution track is missing, however, more markers and holes are popping up. I dont think I will be able to get any pictures to you guys, unfortunately. Maybe do another short update, like I did before. The image gallery is down again, and I dont care for photo bucket.

The "Say Something Random" Thread
arrowfanman replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I have to do a sample UC Application in my English class, but its too late to write the last 600 word essay, so I answered it with: Out of all due respect, I believe that the UC system has viewed enough evidence between my application and my two previous essays, to get a valid perception of my true character. I am so screwed. (P.S. This is only an assignment in my English class, and not my response for an actual UC application. Dont fool yourself. I couldn't get into a UC school if the SAT's had a "Coaster Section"!) -

I would get it for 60 bucks, if it had the handles. -
Season Passes question?
arrowfanman replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Or buy the SFMM pass, and just use that one whenever you go to your local SF park. Lol. -
You know, I guess I have taken it for granted, but your guys's off-season is like my on-season. Finally (around mid-November) SFMM settles down a bit. We get less crowds from Los Angeles, and this is the time when you get to meet cool new people, who have traveled from all parts of the country, and even the world. All the rides go into one train operation, but it isn't too bad if you show up early. Knotts is the same way. And they are usually open on weekdays too. Take off a weekday in November, and you can literally do everything in a matter of hours. We rode Xcelerator about 20 times in a row, in like, less than 40 minutes. Disney (land, but occasionally DCA too) remains fairly crowded, but nowhere near the hellish summer months. This year, because of the 50th anniversary, Disney has actually been able to still retain the summer crowds (enough to open the park an hour earlier on weekdays, a first in the park's history). I think we are going to Disneyland on December 3rd, to reek the Christmas benefits, without the Christmas crowds...at least without some of them.

SFOG Goliath Track!!
arrowfanman replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Damn! I hate when they take other coasters, and re-edit the colors! SFMM still uses Medusa, colored to look like Scream! on all the park banners! -
They have a butt load of markers in and around that waterfall a the opening of the park, not to mention a ton others on top of that hill, behind the revolution loop. I wouldn't be suprised if they have some sort of turn around there. Thats visible from the main entrance. But I'm just yapping and complaining. Hopefully, the rides uniqueness will exceed its colors.

^For one, those colors are way less vibrant and ugly. For two, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, those colors by themselves aren't that bad...its just, those colors, in that location just wont look good. Think about it. You walk into the gates. The colors are relitively calm (dull). A mellow brick red, a brown, a pale green, a soft tan. You turn right, and see a milky white fountain, in a light blue lake, with a brown bridge, light green trees, and then you see a sun-bright orange, yellow, and red piercing the tranquility. Point being...theres more to a good color scheme, than how the colors look on the track. Dude. You care about those incentives, because you are a coaster enthusiast. I recently took my friend to SFMM, because, even though he works there, he hadn't been in the park, riding the rides as a guest for about 5-6 years. Those aren't real incentives to some people. Its like me working in a factory that produces hip-hop CD's. Getting to keep some CDs may be an incentive to do a good job, but it doesn't matter to me...I dont care for hip-hop! ...not to mention, Colossus is one of the better ran rides (same with Revolution, Batman, Goldrusher and Ninja [Hi Ya!]...those are my top 5 ride crews.)

NEWS: Disneyland Announces 1/2 Marathon.
arrowfanman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Damn! You beat me too it! Anyways, I dont pay anyone $85 to humiliate myself. I guess these guys havn't been on It's a Small World! -
^ Yea, and im not saying that everybody is like that! But more than few are. EVERY time I go, theres someone on those food push-carts on their cell phone (and Ive been going once a week lately). EVERY time I go, I see the person at the roller coaster control panel talking to the op at the end of the station, via phone (and its not a professional conversation!). Most of the workers are literally look as if they are forced to come to work, and only smile when they flirt with each other in front of the guest. Basically, the workers are teenagers (You, obviously being exempt from that! ...and your brother, cuz he's cool) ...thats the problem. Lol.

^I really dont think that sums up SFMMs problems. Honestly, I have more problems with people faking handycaps to avoid lines, than the employees riding. That should be allowed, given the employee rides as a single rider. ...but perhaps I am speaking from the view of someone who has abused the system, myself (I now have 2 friends that are leads!). The problem with SFMM employees is seen in their lack of supervision. In my expirence, I find the only difference between empoyees and their leads, is about 6 months expirence, and I believe about 25 cents pay. The leads express no more determination to provide a pleasant guest expirence, than the normal ops. I cant even speak for the supervisors, either.

Stand up coasters...any good?
arrowfanman replied to MARK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know, its funny because I was just riding The Riddler's Revenge the other day, and thinking to myself "whats the point?" Basically, my thought is, after waiting 1 1/2 hours of standing in a line, there is nothing better than sitting down in a comfy roller coaster seat, putting your head against the headrest, and just letting your body relax for 45 seconds. Stand-ups can be good rides, but usually sacrifice too much to be great ones. -

I really dont find this to be too much of Disney's fault (other than a lack of refurbishment), or Intamin's. As taken from the LA Times: (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-disney16oct16,1,1326840.story) Its not Disney's fault that they bought a different brand, which as the artical later sugguests, is used in several other rides, in other parks. The article I just posted is all about how Disney sent out a formal warning to all parks.

Theme Park Personality Quiz
arrowfanman replied to jobber73's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Busch Gardens Tampa. 99% on everything, but a 0% on rides! How the hell did that happen! -
I dont know what it was called, but it was at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and it was the craziest thing I have ever been on! It was a ferris wheel, with enclosed goldolas. In front of you was a lever, that when you pull back on it, it locks you in place. Because a ferris wheel is essentiall a giant loop, this basically sends you looping until you decide to let go of the lever. I dont normally like flats, but this ride was just SO crazy! I want one in my backyard!
