I think that Ghostrider is more painful than Psyclone! At least my one expirence with it was pretty sour. I quite literally had back pains for a week, which upset me, because I dont want to not like the ride. But I really didn't care for it. It was like, "Whoa! Crazy airtime! .... Whoa! F***i'n pain! ... Whoa! Crazy airtime! ... Whoa! F***i'n pain!" Anyways Ghostrider would be most painful. I found Space Mountain (v.2) to be the most "fun" ride I have ever been on. Followed closely by Xcelerator.

It was a dark and rainy night, much like this one (it was this one ). I am in the McDonalds on the northern side of McBean Parkway, eating my meal. All of a sudden, a man walks up and says, "I'm sorry, but is your name, Jahan?" "Uh, yea." "Ah. I thought so. Im David...4718 at Theme Park Review." Pretty cool, eh? You Alveys have one crazy site here. Anyways, to make this post relevant, I think I may be going to SFMM again on Friday.

Jahan's 10-8-05 Video TR
arrowfanman replied to arrowfanman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Holy crap! Thanks guys! I appreciate all of your comments, very much! It makes it worth it! And people complain about too many taxes! I would like to thank the bumpy roads for that! Disney sells the soundtracks for their parks. Well, at least at the California parks, but I believe they do for all. My friend happens to have the DCA soundtrack. I guess I have to do another one of these now! My Senior Class President just told me May 11 is Grad night at Disneyland, so that should be interesting...but its awhile away...I'll have to make some until then. P.S. Did anyone notice that we were driving on the wrong side of the road in the Ocean scene? In truth, my dad made the HUGE mistake of driving up the 5 (right down the middle of California), where there is nothing to see but agriculture. That made me mad, because I was planning to get that shot of the ocean. So, on the way back we drove the 101, and I got my ocean shot. Thing is, the ocean was on the right, and you can tell we were going south...a simple mirroring should do the trick, but it then looked as if we were in the wrong lane! -
...Ok, I'm back. Still outside the park, you can see that they are using the bus pen to weld and store the rebar for the footers. For those who didn't know, they assemble the footers on site. Up to a shot that no SFMM Photo Update would be complete without, the former path the Samuri Summit Shot! There are strange wooden posts sticking out of the ground. More markers are showing up, as well as land markings (and in prettier colors, mind you!). I am assuming that this will be one freakin-huge footer! The former Oriental Garden's progress is symbolic of the build as a whole. So much is getting done, yet so little progress is seen. On closer inspection, you see that there are more wooden beams and a big stack of plywood...let the rumors begin! On a different topic, Log Jammer (currently Blood Falls) has reopened. Perhaps I came at a bad time, but I was EXTREMELY disappointed by Blood falls. All the lights were on, there was no fog, and NOBODY jumped out! There was a bit of scattered Camp Omagosh corpses and stuff, but other than that and the name, nothing to sugguest that it was a halloween attraction. Perhaps they just fixed the ride, and havn't finished setting up for the halloween attraction. BTW...I saw Mr. X sitting at (Uh, I mean op'ping!) Log Jammer when I was there. We had a three second conversation as I drifted on by!

Ok...now the photo gallery that I normally use for these photo updates is currently down for the weekend, so excuse my return to the middle-ages, but I am just gonna do a "Construction Highlights" update here. Excuse there being two posts--I believe I am limited to no more than 10 pics, so I am splitting it up. 10-14-05 Ok, lets start with the parts today. There is a butt-load of stuff here now. A ton of track. BTW...look how far the spine is from the rails here! Crazy. These are definitely walkways... Here is the infamous switch track! Also, directly in front of it to the right is one of the track pieces that will take the train from the switch track to the station. I believe its our first bendy track! More supports that connect to the track. The front one has a connector that is parallel with the beam, but the one behind it is angeled...but then, I am just stating the obvious! I thought you guys would like this! Read the label. I believe that this is the first written evidence that this is actually a flying coaster! ...Inside the park highlights to come in the following post.

Tilt Coaster!?!?!
arrowfanman replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am sure they do....they just dont know that the world is full of wimps. The tilt coaster, with a better layout, offers an extremely promising feature--an improvement over the drop coasters, if fine-tuned. Think about it--the drop expirence is completely different, depending on where you sit. As the tilting takes place, if you are in the front, you will fall forward, while the back will go flying up and out. I wouldn't mind riding one. -
I didn't queue long for it, so I cant say it wasn't worth the wait. But it wasn't too enjoyable, and I wouldn't wait for it again.

Well, in English 12, we are currently doing a unit titled "The Look", that delves into companies like "Abrocrombie and Fitch" and such. For a "thought provoking atmosphere", the teacher has taped pictures of fashon adds all around the walls. I made this today, and Im gonna add it to her wall when she isnt looking tomorrow. ...apologies to whoever I pasted my head over.

Download the BON BON LAND Video!!!

I have never felt such a strange combination of "I should stay away from that place" and "I need to get out there now." -
Hello, once again! Well, I will release one final video trip report, for now. Its definitely shorter and less funny than the others…so watch if your bored!..lol. Anyway, this video documents my trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which I found to be rather enjoyable. It was my first time there. You see, I had to go to Santa Cruz for a wedding, so to make the most of the weekend, we decided to go over to this boardwalk. The star attraction would have to be the Giant Dipper, a 76 year old (brb…checking rcdb), Frank Prior and Frederick Church model. It is only 70 ft tall, but I found it to be the best wooden coaster I have ever been on! …Er, I have been on about six wooden roller coasters…lol. But regardless, it had no competition against the Grizzly, Roar, Colossus, Psyclone, and, yes, Ghostrider. Now I just need to test it against Bellmont Park’s ride! Well, the video is rather short, and I am really only putting it out for no reason! The quality sucks for some reason this time. Oh yea! It still has to be 10 mb’s. When Steven Speildberg and George Lucas sat down to brainstorm their ideas for Indiana Jones 2, they essentially carried over every idea they had from Indy 1, that they didn’t use. Well, I have been doing that for the past two trip reports, and, as you can tell, Im just about out of ideas. So, I am going on a little brake after this! So watch it…and hopefully, enjoy it! Lol. Im part guilty of that. But I'm getting better. Uh: -Smoking in lines. -Breakdowns. -Assigning seats (without the possibly of requesting a seat) -Unclenliness -Teenagers cussing (unnecessarily ... ) -Foul Smelling parks -Foul smelling guests -Foul smelling smells in general, really. -Sticky countertops. -Extinct attractions, that just sit there. -The cost to get into Disneyland and DCA. :? Thats all I can think of, right now, and thats still a lot. Damn I complain a lot.

Revolution, SFMM, back when it was smoother. I really wish they would fix that ride up a bit--it really is an ideal, first inversion/overcome fear of inverting, coaster. The first half is windy through the trees and hillside. It gets your mind off of the loop. They, you hit some brakes, and there is a long runway to the loop that looms ahead. You know its coming, and you just wait. After the loop, the rest of the course is like a victory run. You knew you had lost your upsidedown virginity, and you cant wait to ride again.

^I guarentee you most, if not all of the people making money off Santa Clarita DONT live out here. Not to mention, I go to a school where I have to walk in the dirt next to the pathway because the walkways are no longer wide enough to manage all of the students. ...then again, everywhere is like that, anymore. Um....to be relevant--I should be going on Friday for the Fright Fest, so you will have one of my super-sexy updates to follow.

NL challenge?
arrowfanman replied to coasterlover420's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Well, I am a judge for the CoasterForce NL Comps (we're going onto round 8 soon!), and I have to say, although our comps are quite small (no more than 6-8 tracks entered), everyone really has a great heart about it. As judges, we essentially grade the tracks. We provide constructive feedback, explaining our thought process, which leaves the participant with one of two thoughts: "Oh, I understand. I will fix that next time" or "I disagree, but theres always next time". We also make sure to outline the highpoints of the track. It always makes someone feel great when you find a strongpoint that the builder didn't even realize when constructing the track. The comps themselves are very flexible too. We take sugguestions for possible comps, as well as allow amendments to current comps, in place, to better suit the general participation. Thats basically the trick. Individual feedback, which may be harder as the comps gain popularity. If I put time and effort into a track, and send it in, lose, and never hear back from anybody about that track, I wont feel to hot--especially since NL tracks take so much time and dedication. But if I, despite losing, recieve a PM from the judge, explaining what they thouroughly enjoyed about my track, and what I can do to better my next track, I will feel a sense of "somebody sees potential in me". Also, I suggest having no prize. We dont! It really helps when you lose (I have been there), because you know "ah well, I didn't really lose anything or lose a chance at something, and besides...theres always next time to win. If you have any other questions as to participant behavoir or anything, feel free to ask. -Jahan "Yay, I finally got to help Robb...assuming anything I said was helpful" Makanvand -
Or you can go, say, December 3rd, and get the benifits of Chrismastime, without the Christmas crowds.

Once again I am limited to 10mb, so time is precious. I cannot say everything in the video. Well, ever since my school canceled its Video II class, I have been scraping for things to make a video of! Its much easier when I was assigned the tasks! Well, since you guys seemed to enjoy my Disneyland 50th Anniversary Video Trip Report, I thought I would do another. This time, its Universal Studios Hollywood…you know, the real movie studio. For those not familiar with the park, Universal Studios Hollywood is what started the Universal chain. It originally consisted of simply a tram tour of the Universal Backlot, a ride that is still there to this day (with a few added scenes ), and what I would still consider the best ride in the park. Its what they do best. Anyway, the park is constructed on a hillside, with two levels…the upper lot, and the lower lot…both connected by a series of four massive escalators. I have not been to the park for several years. It was almost a new park experience for me! I had loads of fun, but if that is the consistent Universal offering, than I don’t see why people say they are better than Disney is. Regardless, I really enjoyed myself. A few attractions were, eh, such as Van Helsing: Dracula Fortress, and The Revenge of the Mummy. Yes, the Revenge of the Mummy was a waste of money, if you ask me. It’s an indoor launched coaster, but our version is the equivalent of driving on a windy road, in a convertible, at night…its that lame. In fact, for time reasons, I didn’t even include it in the video! Sorry, if you will only watch videos with roller coasters in them! I also apologize for the poor quality! I have to fit the video in 10mb if I am to fit it on the site. I DEFINITELY wouldn’t say that the video is as funny as the Disneyland video, but I hope it at least puts a smile on your face. Besides, I remedied the number one complaint…I have a ton of footage, from inside the park. I just need to find a better balance between the park footage and the jokes. Well, enjoy! Video File Can Be Found Here…That’s Right, Here!
