  1. Jet stream will look like that if someone left the valves on the pumps open. Not that I know from experience.
  2. 15 million pounds doesn’t get you much these days I guess. That’s almost $20 million dollars for a junior woodie...
  3. I enjoyed it, but also thought the layout left a lot to be desired. I wish more of the twists were airtime hills. Winja's would be my number 1 as well, since it is just silly fun that you don't expect from a wild mouse.
  4. I noticed that too. I assume its the wheel compound and there is more friction than before. Ride was definitely slowed practically to a crawl until the final tunnel, which was also way slower than I remember.
  5. Went to the parks for the first time in 12 years...doesn't really feel like much has changed. The main park desperately needs a new E-ticket. New projection show looked cool, but I didn't like the fact that most of the show doesn't actually use the castle as anything more than a screen. I was expecting the content to be custom made to the castle.
  6. Probably because DC Comics/Warner Brothers are located in Burbank and they want to protect the brand. Easy for them to visit SFMM to ensure it meets their quality standards. Bonnie also worked for Warner Brothers before coming back to SFMM....
  7. No show buildings for the tram have ever been used for HHN. The tram garage area was the location for two mazes in its previous life late 90's/early 2000's.
  8. Ever try Google.com? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Cedar+fair+Clayton The beginning of the article says exactly what his title is...
  9. ...said no respectable person ever. I mean, I don't really care if enthusiasts agree with these or not. There's no such thing as a "perfect poll" and in the end, they aren't really for us anyways. They mean something to the parks and it's something easy for them to market if they care to. Personally, I like them because they are really the only "high profile" award that comes out regarding amusement parks, and it puts them in the spotlight potentially drawing in visitors. I don't see how that's a bad thing. Coincidentally, they all purchase advertising in Amusement Today to celebrate their win too
  10. I would say buy it if it won't break your budget. Some of the newer mazes have limited capacity, so it's worth it if for nothing else to go through Paranormal Inc & Infected more than once. You could theoretically do it all without the Fright Lane, but you would be cutting it close and not likely to have time to repeat anything you enjoyed.
  11. GhostRider has always had a pre-haunt rehab. Xcelerator would typically also either be down or have 1 train in rehab to be ready for haunt because during haunt the rides run almost 24hrs.
  12. That's still a big chunk of the park...from jet stream on. And the whole upper portion. The other problem is that just refurbishing a section for its opening year and then not maintaining it afterwards. Facades in DC section still worn down, just harder to see with lights left up all year. YOLOCoaster water feature doesn't work anymore and painted cement totally faded. The list could go on and on.- She's not doing anything different than any other SFMM park president. But again, it's SFMM. As I said, for $7/month, I come in and ride a few rides and head out. It isn't worth complaining over because it's such a good value I don't even care. Also, RE viper...wouldn't be surprised to see them announce midway through the year it's closing to celebrate last rides. Just think they took a year off from heavy capital investment. Don't think it's an accident knotts is pushing "first dive coaster" in their marketing
  13. There is never a day anymore where Disneyland isn't busy. It's either full of tourists or full of people who are going to the park when their pass isn't blocked out.
  14. Those little things might seem funny, but they summarize exactly why SFMM has a LONG way to go. Do employees or management not care enough to take care of these things before they become a problem? Me personally, my first impression of the park every single time is always bad: the trash cans in the parking lot and walkway to the park are ALWAYS full and look like they haven't been washed or replaced in 15 years. They are beat up, missing the flaps, and covered in grime. My last visit, the dirt area next to the ramp into Justice League preshow was full of trash. Aside from the fact that looks like it was supposed to be plants there that they didn't bother to plant, the fact that there isn't enough care for them to have a very visible area of their brand new ride kept clean of trash also sums up the park quite well... All that aside, I laugh about these things, but don't let it impact me anymore. I just show up, ride a few rides, and get the heck out. But if I was a first time visitor paying full price, I would be shocked.
  15. "Renovated attractions" could also include a refresh of Tidal Wave. I would also assume it means a paint job for Scrambler.
  16. Sounds like Stan Checketts new tower from his zipline company.
  17. My office at work Bookshelf in office Desk
  18. That coaster is WAY better than some of the rides on the original list...
  19. If you're talking about California vs New Jersey, sure, but there's quite a few people that go to both SFDK and SFMM, and having your pass processed at SFDK isn't a big deal, especially if it's a membership and you won't have to renew it each year. I believe the SFDK pass is currently a little bit cheaper than SFMM already, but at the moment I don't think it's enough for MM to really care, I just wonder if they will care more if the disparity becomes larger. I've never heard of anyone who isn't originally from the Bay Area or an enthusiast who goes to sfdk. Why drive 5-6 hours to save $10? Makes more sense in Midwest or east coast with more parks closer.
  20. Knott's is a ghost town (no pun intended) during their off season. Same. I don't see how they're going to staff the park considering so much of their workforce is minors. Minimum wage hike + opportunity for permanent positions = More of a young adult staff? I'm sure some college students will appreciate Six Flags being year round, but the problem for them will still be that they will be competing with all the other places who also pay minimum wage or higher and offer real benefits besides free theme park tickets.
  21. Same. I don't see how they're going to staff the park considering so much of their workforce is minors.
  22. With the VR craze now in full effect, DisneyQuest was way ahead of its time. If Disney had kept the technology current, I could only imagine what they could do now... However, in its current state, it was WAY overdue to meet the wrecking ball.
  23. It's been awhile since I've updated this, but I did get a few more stadium credits this year...including the world famous Fenway park. Did the tour before the game as well. They happened to be playing the Cubs, so the vibe inside was great. The view from the outfield bleachers wasn't that great, but the stadium itself was very cool. Yup. It's that famous thing. A monster that's green. Here's what it looks like if you can afford to sit atop said green monster. Here's what a suite looks like. Kind of cool to see how they were able to mix in modem amenities while staying true to the classic design. Fun fact: they grow produce on the roof for the concessions Another fun fact: a lone red seat marks the location of a 502ft home run ted Williams hit And another one! Fun fact that is. Most of the seating from between the bases in the lower rows are still original wooden seats The tour ends in their museum. Here's stuff. And more stuff. And important stuff like the MVP award of a Trojan great! And more stuff. Exterior with banners honoring former all stars The players entrance is right on the street as well. No seperation from the public at all. The streets become concourses as Gametime gets closer. A concourse. Very cramped (obviously).
  24. Well, California has to have some redeeming qualities...
  25. Since the Pokémon card world championships are in Anaheim, kangaskhan and unown are spawning at Disneyland! Consolation for not getting any lengedaries yet I suppose.
