Golden Ticket Awards 2012 Results
Jew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My understanding is that the ballots are by invitation/recommendation only. -
^The boats can be derailed by the wake if not fully loaded and going fast before stopping. This incident in question actually did happen (though the lawsuit appears to be BS based on this witness account): http://jimhillmedia.com/editor_in_chief1/b/jim_hill/archive/2010/02/09/what-happens-when-things-actually-do-sort-of-kind-of-go-horribly-wrong-at-a-disney-theme-park.aspx#.UFDgEmjSLpg

^The rumors are that you will have to buy the adaptor and it will only be available from apple to begin with (they don't want to let their 3rd party suppliers in on that cash just yet). I love my android phone (and I'm sure android fanboys will be complaining that android already has many of these features...the difference is Apple packages it all together in the perfect ecosystem that allows for bug free apps/great battery life/simple experience everyone can enjoy), but this sure is a tempting reason to try and break my contract. If nothing else, I will definitely be buying the new iPod Touch!!

Adventure City getting new coaster for 2013?
Jew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Bummer. Was actually a decent ride. Hopefully it finds another home (maybe they had to sell/trade it in to finance the new ride), as there are not many of those mice left! Glad I got the credit. -
^Tampa Bay and its pirate ship in the end zone is pretty cool too! But anyways...back to college football: 5 PAC-12 teams ranked! Don't think that will be sustained, but it's pretty cool for now! Also, Notre Dame is making its move to eventually merge into the ACC for football.

^They've had print at home tickets for awhile. On the flip side to what you're saying, there are also tons of people who would rather do without the hassle of printing tickets and then having to remember to bring them. So far I've used my phone to buy tickets on stub hub and use it as my boarding pass on Delta flights. Loved not having to remember anything besides opening the app.

^Agreed. Side note: projection mapping on Disney castles is still badass. Those preview images look awesome. -

^Every single time I've been to WDW, that show has been packed! Even though I am not a fan, it's good to see them responding to guest demand. -

Every year they keep adding more and more delicious choices to the food & wine lineup. Drinking around the world will be even tougher this year... -

How does one become a member of this secret club? I hope it doesn't cost a ton of money or involve a really long waiting list. -

^Coincidence the award ceremony was hosted at Dollywood? I think not. -

ProSlide Worlds First To Open in The UK

A toilet bowl+tornado=cool slide concept! Love that water park rides are finally moving forward in the last 10 years, instead of the same 5 slides we saw over and over built for so long. -

None of that themeing looks very expensive, so I wouldn't be surprised if they built it all. Maintaining it on the other hand...
