Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Discussion Thread
Jew replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think it's crazy the number of people that are canceling their reservations in order to "Honor Walt's Wishes." I doubt they actually are. They just want to make a stink online to sound righteous, yet will still gladly give Disney thousands of their hard earned dollars... -
I'm usually horribly lazy, but have been going to the gym and running a lot on the treadmill...which has now led me to register for my first 5K on the Universal backlot in November. We'll see how it goes!

Hit it and quit it. Words to live by when you are in your early 20's, since lets be honest... Rarely will you get lucky and find "the one" on your first go around. Also, you probably don't even know what you want yet. But to each his or her own.

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 22

Haven't seen the movies or played the games, but just from reading stuff online---it looks like there is a ton of awesome content to build a maze upon. I'm sure the maze on both coasts will be very good. -
Michigan St.-Notre Dame looks good on paper. Utah-BYU is always a fun one too. Not many other marquee matchup this week.

Bingo! Totally unscientific poll, used for marketing. Don't forget the ad sales part! It also helps Amusement Today sell all the "congratulations" ads! -

This doesn't even seem like one of the major fairs, and yet it blows all the fairs in the U.S. out of the water. -
People should be more worried about Donald Fehr (who led the MLB Strike in 1994)....

Why does the cellphone need to be re-invented right now anyways? When the iPhone first launched, it was at a time where the smartphone desperately needed to be re-thought with clunky blackberries and windows phones on top of the market. Right now, there is absolutely no reason to re-think what is a very successful generation of smart phone technology that started with the original iPhone.

^Those rides are Tagada's...basically that video shows the whole point. It's to get thrown around and have a freaking blast! Robb & Elissa were able to set up ERT for the last China trips as well. Just goes to show how awesome TPR trips are, since I know they had to work hard to make that happen!

I doubt many of the voters have ridden T-express, so it's already at a huge disadvantage. -
^Anyone want to sell theirs at a discount? I'll gladly take it off your hands before the iPhone 5 smashes phone sales records. Samsung was blatantly trying to copy the iPhone's look. Apple is merely doing what it has always done: taking existing concepts and making them work better. Nothing wrong with that. Android would never even have made it this far if not for the iPhone to begin with, so it's all just a vicious cycle of borrowing/improving to begin with.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I'm curious to know if there was a cost savings involved in demoing it this way vs. using a crane. They're still going to have to throw money at it to cut it up and remove the scrap, and controlled demolitions are not cheap. On the the flip side, renting a crane isn't cheap either. Either way, that was pretty cool to watch! -

^You are correct. -
^As long as they find a way to get a crane and the track pieces inside, it's no different than any other construction job. The Orlando and Hollywood Mummy coasters are probably the biggest coasters built inside a building so far, and all they did was cut a hole in the side of the building that was later patched up.

^Considering the PAC-12 just went to divisions last season, there hasn't been many opportunities for that to have happened. However, I believe it has happened when it was still the PAC-10 (and they played a round-robin schedule, so everyone played everyone) over the last 10 years... Right now the PAC-12 South has 3 teams, so that's a start.
