  1. BTW, here is a picture of the disgusting condition of the Dyson in the mens restroom near Mystery Lodge: That's seriously one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen in a theme park bathroom. I don't even think I've seen something this bad in a Six Flags bathroom. WTF?!? How is that acceptable?
  2. I forgot to add: for all the love KBF has been getting for improving things, the restrooms were in pretty bad shape. The Dyson airblades had rotted away, lime stains all over the fixtures, and it was obvious that no one had come in for quite some time to even do basic cleaning (water spots all over sinks, dirty mirrors, TP on floor). Very Six Flags.
  3. If the Seahawks can hold onto home field advantage, I don't think they can be stopped en route to the Super Bowl.
  4. Airtime > Inversion. So hills win!
  5. Universal just keeps proving that "You have to spend money to make money" in this industry. Glad to see Comcast is committed to the parks.
  6. Looks like the launch will pack a nice punch even if the rest of the ride doesn't really do anything else. Glad to see it finally opened!
  7. Went to Haunt again tonight…The things that annoy me still hold true (photos in queue lines, no maze in bumper cars and fiesta plaza), but the mazes and streets had good energy. Dominion was ridiculously full of monsters, which made it best of the night. Something I never thought I would say, but each room was packed with 3 or more monsters---scares everywhere. Fail of the night was Gunslingers, which had the least energy and 3 monsters blocking the exit to have a personal conversation (they didn't even realize we were behind them for a minute). I still hate that so many monsters in that maze have no mask or makeup too. I also loved the added line about Bill & Ted's to the hanging.
  8. I'm usually either talking with friends or observing the operation and passing judgement as to whether or not they are running things well.
  9. We shouldn't have to wait too much longer. They usually announce in November.
  10. Flashback was there first. But you can't call hurricane harbor a mistake, since that makes good money.
  11. It's still umpires discretion as to whether or not he was impeded. I don't think the umpire would have called it if it was just a matter of simply stepping over him.
  12. I'm not so sure I like the idea of re-using the name of a ride that was a total failure...but the logo looks cool!
  13. He basically turned them into Six Flags. Over expanded, let quality decline, didn't adapt to changing market conditions...
  14. More Christmas fun: a projection mapping show on Small World! http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/10/new-surprises-in-store-for-its-a-small-world-holiday-at-disneyland-park/
  15. For theme parks, Central Florida wins hands down. So much to do in such a close area. Even the drive down to Tampa is closer than driving from LA to Legoland/Sea World. Then you add in the golf, theme parks, food, bars, beaches, watersports, etc. that are also so close by. Southern California wins the weather battle, but that is about it. You could argue that if you count southern california as a whole, there are experiences that are equal to or better than orlando in "other" categories (and you'd probably be right), but all of that is so spread out and annoying to get to with traffic!
  16. At the pace they are building, I wouldn't be surprised if it opened sooner. Unless we get another undertow situation...
  17. He was the leader of the "good old boys club." That whole group of executives had let time pass them by and just wanted to jump ship with the Apollo buyout when they knew trouble was ahead.
  18. Well run traveling shows are just as safe as permanent rides. I wouldn't avoid them based on the apparent negligence of this operator.
  19. Whatever it is, it's pretty lame without a lot of participation! I hope/assume this is just the beginning for the technology in the parks, using glow with the show as a test bed.
  20. That article is basically saying that human error across a few ships=entire industries problem.
  21. I think the majority of people who visit WDW have already planned their vacations regardless of what the holiday offerings are. It certainly enhances their experience and may help entice them to return next holiday season, but I doubt there are many people out there who are now planning trips to WDW because this was announced. On the flip side, locals (or anyone in range to make it a day trip/mini vacation), might be enticed to go back to the park because it is something new for them.
  22. Thanks for the constant updates John! They are really moving along quickly with this. Can't wait to check it out.
  23. Agreed. I understand the logic of not wanting to impact day operations, but for late September/October, Haunt has to be the focus. The park is a ghost town (no pun intended) on weekdays, and only slightly busy on weekends. Haunt probably does better numbers, and needs more mazes to keep the crowds spread out.
  24. I think it would qualify as parody, as it is spoofing how superman is always portrayed as the typical "manly man."
  25. John has already stated on his twitter Bill and Ted's is the one area he has nothing to do with at HHN, so I doubt it will have any impact on the rest of the event.
