  1. ^You might as well go to the Circus Circus buffet if you're excited for Golden Corral...
  2. Beltran is the last person who should be talking about "waking up," since it looked like he wasn't awake in the field last night... I kind of wish the Dodgers did "play the right way," because then Carlos Beltran would have had a fastball right as his ribs too as retaliation for Hanley.
  3. I hope some of those bigger slides make their way to the CA Legoland waterpark!
  4. I agree. But I think I have come to accept that Cedar Fair is not that interested in the charm of the park, so it doesn't bother me as much as it did before. I'm just happy they maintain what they do.
  5. ^That's standard PR speak. The cruise ship industry is very loosely regulated (because the ships are homeported in countries all around the world and only subject to the "flagged" countries laws), so it is very likely Carnival doesn't keep records like that because they are not required to. As far as the lifeguard thing goes? There are usually signs all around the pool deck on cruise ships making it very clear there are no lifeguards on duty. Just like in your apartment complex pool, when a beach lifeguard station is closed, etc., etc. Risk is assumed.
  6. ^Exactly. Cedar Fair gave up on the park and the locals knew it. Should be a great success in the hands of Sea World.
  7. Kinda makes me wonder why they go through the trouble in the first place of even installing them?? I think what it comes down to is simple: is it worth it for the park to maintain the effects? Do people ride X2 for the audio and fire, or because of the ride itself? To accountants, that is easy money to justify being cut.
  8. I don't think the point of Silver Bullet was to be compact. I'm pretty sure they wanted the ride to be spread out and look the part of a "signature" ride.
  9. Then what is the point of the poll? You already know the answer.
  10. Maybe for next years new and improved fright fest they can bring that back!
  11. I disagree. Game 1 pulling Adrian Gonzalez was a terrible decision. Game 2 hitters were clearly pressing the whole game and he pulled the best pitcher in baseball after 72 pitches. He seems lost without all his hitters to bail him out.
  12. They're definitely not wasting any time!
  13. Really can't wait to see photos of the vertical construction! Looks to be quite the undertaking with how intertwined everything is on the hillside.
  14. Interesting ride system, but if this is the ride system, two obvious concerns: height requirement (OTSR's) and sight lines (given that it is one giant motion base---hate to have your view obstructed by OTSR's and/or the rows in front of you). I'm sure Disney thought this things through already if this is the ride system, but hey, we have to have something to talk about for years until it opens!
  15. Dodgers looking terrible so far. Mattingly will probably be out of a job unless the Dodgers engineer a Kings like comeback from an 0-2 deficit leaving St. Louis...
  16. ^I would expect something better than that. This project seems too big for a cloned ride system, especially one with a lower capacity.
  17. Transformers rumored budget was in the $100 million range too...
  18. YOLOCoaster was surprisingly fun, despite it's super short length!
  19. ^This is SFMM we are talking about, so I am definitely not holding my breath!
  20. ^There's still a ton of room left to grow! I'm sure this is only the first of many additions.
  21. It would be great if the park could get B:TR's effects back to their opening day form. It's a rarity now to even see the fan in the "sewer" turning and the audio effect that goes with it playing!
  22. ^I have no idea what that means (having only seen the original trio of Star Wars films a few times each), so I think that has a lot to do with why I wasn't blown away. I don't think they used the 3D as well as they could have either, which is why I am hoping this is something new/better than another Star Tours 2.0. It would be a shame if the Marvel ride introduced nearly 20 years prior to when this one will open will have a more technically advanced ride system.
  23. It basically screams "I am a sucker for buying one of these!"
  24. My understanding is that would be a HUGE undertaking, almost as if they would have to re-build the ride. I have heard that they would have to re-engineer the yeti structure to reduce the stress on the animatronic, which of course is intertwined with the track and mountain structures already. Not saying it can't be done, I just wouldn't expect it for many years. My guess would be the next time they need a marketing gimmick after Avatar land, they could justify "transforming" the ride into something else...
  25. Can't go wrong with Choup!
