  1. Did you mean JP and Insidious, since those queues almost overlap? Evil Dead and Mummy enter in two completely different areas, and only line jumpers get them confused... Actually saw that happen in both locations. Whe in line for Evil Dead, some "guests" took down the rope to head to the Mummy. While in line for JP briefly, saw people just step over the rope to join the Insidious line. Generally, with the lack of security at some points in these extended lines, pretty easy to do line jumping. I will say that however that it seemed like the crowd was pretty well-behaved and orderly which was great. Sucks for those guests---they wasted their one time use at Evil Dead then! Universal ejects line jumpers from the park so long as someone reports it or an employee sees it.
  2. ^^Agreed. They can walk their kid around the park until the time slot, eat, watch street entertainment, etc.

  4. ^It at least sits next to a river. The pool is a (admittedly smart) cash grab.
  5. That's a stretch. Of everything "local," a pool symbolizes Phoenix best?
  6. He certainly hasn't shown it the last two games. Held on to the ball way too long looking for someone to throw to.
  7. I don't know if I would call it discrimination...it's just an inconvenience for single riders. We have a thread dedicated to rides that don't allow single riders (HERE), so it's not unique to the industry. Though I agree the reasoning is silly, larger odd number groups would just have to put 2 of the riders in the back row. I don't really think it has anything to do with not having confidence in the maintenance team either. I would guess that someone (probably a consultant or insurance company person) saw that it used to be a policy and decided to dust it off and bring it back as part of the over reaction to this incident as a way to "manage risk." I'm sure it will fade into oblivion again next season.
  8. Speaking of Mariano Rivera---even though the definition of a save is kind of ridiculous and has cheapened the stat, you have to respect what he has done.
  9. ^They actually can't take the system away due to the ADA laws, so this system is about as close to fair as they can get.
  10. Remember when we were talking about Colin Kaepernick? His numbers the past two weeks: 26 of 55, 277 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs
  11. Looks like it is shaping up to be an awesome ride. The Studios park will finally have a true flagship attraction.
  12. The whole reason that the ride has not gotten approval is not because of the state. It really has nothing to do with the scheduling or anything like that. The schedule got screwed up because the track was poorly manufactured by Maurer Sohne, and they had to actually get local contractors to literally alter the track in order to make the pieces to fit together. This is straight from the mouth of Wolfgang of Maurer Sohne. So, the entire project was screwed from the beginning since it was a manufacturing problem. That makes a little more sense. Depending on what modifications they did, diagrams/SOP's would need to be updated for the state to approve it.
  13. Bacon flavored anything is gross. The only way to experience bacon is by eating bacon!
  14. ^That was the transition into the boogeyman's lair if I remember right. Probably a necessity due to the weird space the maze was built inside.
  15. ^Because that pool sells for $3500-4500 a game (not including any extra food & drink bought). It's a neat gimmick. Personally, it's on my bucket list of things to do.
  16. ^^Of coure, but that doesn't help you right away.
  17. The Dodgers celebrating in the pool @ Chase Field was brilliant!
  18. ^Because a bankruptcy hearing is forthcoming, and that may very well be a part of the discussion for the day.
  19. ^Well unless that guest was a single rider, theoretically someone else in their party could do just that. You are correct that there is technically still an advantage for GAS holders since they don't have to physically be in the line, but since that article says you can only have a GAS reservation for one ride at a time---the advantage is as minimal as it can be while still complying with the ADA laws.
  20. ^To be fair, a normal guest would have that same ability: grab a fastpass for one ride, and then go wait in line for another ride.
  21. With a statue straight out of the burning man festival as a finale no less.
  22. I guess the Dodgers just don't want to celebrate in Arizona because they're not allowed to.
  23. I think the craziest part is that the cost of salvaging the ship is going to end up being more than the cost of a brand new ship. Read an article that said the operation has already cost $700 million dollars. Couldn't have happened to a better company.
  24. I'd rather have the fireworks from LuminAria, now that Disney has improved the launching technology.
  25. Too coincidental for their to be activity at the park right around the time of their next bankruptcy hearing...Could this be the start of the inevitable selling of the park piece by piece?
