I don't mind replay officials. I hate incorrect calls having a huge impact on a game.

Summer Job at a park (SFA)
Jew replied to Password121's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That does sound like me! I am also still mentally scarred from my first job at a Six Flags park... -
Parks do what is in the best interest of their business. Sometimes that means playing nice to enthusiasts, other times that means ignoring them.

Summer Job at a park (SFA)

Thank you Robb for summing up exactly what I meant. When you mix your passion with business, your patience and how much you REALLY love theme parks definitely gets tested. It's not as simple as "I love theme parks, so it makes sense for me to work at a theme park!" To be honest, you're not really going to learn much about the business as a entry level team member either. Your role is to be on the front lines---you don't have budgets, breaks, ordering supplies, or any other management function to worry about. -

You find joy until you are working long hours for minimum wage, dealing with all sorts of terrible people, doing actual hard work like cleaning vomit/picking up trash for long periods of time without a break, dealing with terrible managers, etc. I'm just being honest in warning you that it is FAR from the perfect summer job. You sound like your mind is made up, so I hope you make the best of it. You will meet lots of coworkers, some of which may become lovers or lifelong friends and you can still have a good time if your coworkers are fun, but... -

Don't do it. Honestly, the majority of theme park fans make terrible theme park workers because it's too hard to separate the fanboy from the worker. -

The hotel should be a huge bonus for the park. The parks location is certainly not ideal, so I imagine the hotel will convince people to just spend the whole day there. -

I couldn't agree more. It really does make you wonder if a Busch Gardens/B&M contract actually existed because the Dive Coasters are in my opinion their best and most innovative design... with not much of a price tag compared to other B&M's. I'm not much of a B&M guy, but I do love Griffon and Sheikra as they're my favorite B&M's and in my top 10 coasters. If there is any doubt that CP doesn't have the best coaster line-up in the country, a Dive Machine would push them over the edge in my opinion. Non-compete clauses are fairly typical in the industry for parks to protect their investment. They do, however, expire after a certain amount of time and are typically limited to a certain number of miles... -
Well, by SEC/BCS logic, the B1G 10 is the best conference in the country... Congrats to tOSU!

Just got back from a little mini vacation to the Strip... -Did the High Roller & enjoyed it for two reasons: our pod only had a total of 4 people in it and the views are nice once you get above the backside of buildings point. The music/cheesy video guy were annoying at times. -Saw the MJ Cirque show: It's definitely more of a dance show with cirque elements mixed in, but it was lots of fun. Great dancers and really cool lighting/projection stuff. -SLS is already a ghost town. There couldn't have been more than 100 people on the casino floor on Tuesday night. The Sayers Club was open as a lounge and completely empty. This place needs a signature element or it's toast. -Hotel32 at the top of Monte Carlo is the best bang for your buck if you want to go for a luxury hotel. Speaking of Monte Carlo, I like what they did to the front. Opened it up more while keeping most of the themed entrance in tact. -Restaurant Reviews...Double Barrel Road House had great wings & Chayo @ the Linq had good tacos at the taco Tuesday price of $3 (didn't think they would be worth their normal price of $18 for 3).

Their excuse is that it's too much of a monetary investment repair the elevators and bring them up to newer codes to make any sort of return. Should it have gotten to this state in the first place? No. It's sad actually. It's one of those things that IMO should warrant the investment no matter what. "Code" doesn't magically change for existing structures. Existing structures are grandfathered in.

Adventure City getting new coaster for 2013?

Love these updates. Glad to have a new credit in the area opening soon! -
Dallas gets the benefit of a missed call and follows it up by being screwed by the correct call based on a silly rule.

I think that is just the angle of the render. Don't think it was ever intended as an aqualoop. -

If they were used as intended, I wouldn't really have a problem with them. A tool to make it so you can have your whole group in a photo (in a situation where you would take a photo...with a character, in front of the castle, etc.) without having to ask someone for help or be forced to leave someone out because they have to take the photo is a great idea... Of course, like Robb said, humanity can't get nice things without screwing it up. Staples Center will make you check it in if you use it in a way that is disruptive to other guests at the game or event. More places should do that! -
SFMM embraces who they are...a place with a bunch of coasters and nothing else. It works for them. Is it the most efficient business model? No way, since it is entirely dependent upon adding rides year after year. They just added Holiday in the Park to try and "retain" guests (families) that would otherwise not visit the park or stay all day because they realize their investments need to come in the form of attractions. I'm not buying a pass for the food, service, or how it looks under Scream (assuming they spruce it up). I'm bought a pass because it's a dirt cheap way to ride Twisted Colossus as much as I want.
