  1. I was wondering if anyone has created their own apps? I'd love to see what TPR members have created. I would also like to parter with someone to create some apps. I have some ideas, but need someone with technical expertise to do the programming...etc. What apps would you like to see?
  2. My 2 cents - It is just too expensive. I know the prices are comparable to Disney, but we always buy 10 day no expiry tickets and it works out to be only $35ish a day. I just can't justify $70 for a day to ride only a handful of rides. I have been in the past and the rides are great, but the number of attractions is just not high enough to justify me spending the money to return. Having said that, if there were discounted tickets or multi-day, no expiry option, I'd consider it, but again, when my kids are older. My girls love Disney because there is just so much they can do, Universal/IOA just doesn't seem to offer the selection and variety. And the attractions at Disney are so reridable - I can't say I think this for IOA (for kids who aren't into big coasters yet). By the way - My kids even love Animal Kingdom, even though rides are limited as they could spend all day just looking at the animals on the trails.
  3. I just voted again today - I hope more people will vote -this place is amazing - in appearance and what they do!
  4. I just voted and added the link to facebook. I hope all TPR members can help. A friend of mine used to work there and what a truly magical place it is! Please vote!
  5. Trims were added to the first drop of Mantis at CP. I am not against trims if they make the intensity better for the majority of the riders. (I know this does not include many enthusiasts).
  6. Rob - I have been watching your videos online for as long as I can remember. I started following TPR way back in the 90's and love all the work you have put into TPR. Having said this, your CE videos are amazing. I only own a few on digital download, but I love to watch them. I also watch the clips on Coastertube over and over again. I think the CE videos really capture the essence of TPR and represent the foundations of what you have built. The fun, the coasters, but most of all , the parks. Moments like the escalator ride in Japan and Joey on the monkey bars are the best and I love watching them. I would be very sad to see these videos disappear. The videos also allow me to experience the full antics of a TPR park takeover! I would love to be part of a TPR trip, but until that happens, the CE videos suit me fine. On a side note - my oldest daughter used to have some serious night terrors and your video of thunderhead at Dollywood would calm her down everytime! I would have been lost without it and spend many nights watching it and other videos of yours over and over with a child nestled in my lap. RAW videos - don't really do it for me. They are fun to watch and I can see what a coaster is like, but they are like a bad coaster to me - not always re-ridable. I know they are popular, but just not my thing. Please keep making the CE vids.
  7. I wasn't really expecting much, the leaked you tube videos made it look boring, but the promo reel has me a bit more excited. I wish I could be closer so I could actually see this. I wonder when it will open at WDW?
  8. I am not sure how I feel about this. If I remember correctly, the special effects are a bit cheesy. But again, HISTA IS/WAS A BORE! I'll check it out in July though - just because I can!
  9. I noticed that CW was the highest of the seasonal parks. No suprise though as it pulls a large number from the Greater Toronto Area. It would interesting to see the difference between paid admissions and season pass admissions. It also appears that a lot of the seasonal parks showed a decrease in attendance, even though many had longer operating seasons last year. I guess this recession thing has some truth to it.
  10. Duh - Brain fart! I was thinking I rode it on the way home from my contract at WDW, but it was in 2000 after my contract with DCL. Thanks for the reminder guys... David
  11. I rode SOB in 95 and I actually enjoyed the ride. While it wasn't the most exciting ride, the speed, a bit of roughness and the loop made it fun for me. I never rode it once it hit the "Really Rough" stage. I know most people hate this monstrosity, but could it go the way of Gemini at Cedar Point? This could make it ridable and the GP wouldn't really know the difference. They could also bring back the loop - add a couple of tunnels, a fire effect and the GP would eat this up! I know I'd give it another try.
  12. I don't currently own a Blu Ray player so I wouldn't buy them, but I also don't think it is a bad idea. If you offer the multiple formats for reasonable prices, people will buy what they wish. Thanks for considering the needs of the members! David
  13. I watched the show from the video posted and I can say that I am impressed, and I am not. It looks great, but it seems to be 25 minutes of the same thing over and over again. I think that closing down the major attractions for this is a mistake. The park already has limited attractions and to take away some of the E-tickets during summer just will cause confusion. I worked at EPCOT and at one point, all the future world attractions closed at 7pm. It kept traffic flowing in Showcase and balanced off the need for staffing. However - guest complaints were always high, and this changed when things were kept open longer. I think DCA will have numerous complaints over this. Just my 2 cents worth. David
  14. Easy - It is my screen name, one of my favourite coasters, a great park and I love to create art on the computer.
  15. Here you go. Please pm me with your email if you want a full size, printable document as well as an avatar. Thanks
  16. A Radio station in Barrie Ontario announced this week that Disney had apparently purchased land at or neat the old Molson Park in Barrie Ontario. They DJ then continued to talk about how this would be a perfect site to compete with Wonderland. I am thinking that this is just a load of *&^%%&*^. Has anyone else heard this?
  17. I have been a MF fan in the past, but I think that this may become my new favourite. I can 't wait to ride it this summer! It looks like a lot of fun and the transitions look intense.
  18. I haven't made any in a while - I'll try to get yours done this weekend! Thanks for your patience!
  19. 12/20 - but there really seemed to be an obsession with Huss. Lots of questions were about Huss rides.
  20. Kind of reminds me of National Lampoon's VACATION!!
  21. I was impressed with the show in general. I really liked how the CEO just didn't solve eveyone's issues on the spot with a lot of cash, a new house etc. He gave people things to help (like money and things for the house), but also made them feel appreciated and that they a valuable members of the company. I like how he decided to create change for the better, yet he celebrated the things that make Herschend the company that it is. I have more respect for this family of businesses now. Also having been on the front lines in this type of business - I am glad he was able to appreciate how hard people work and that they truly are the magic that makes his company successful. All to often, people in higher management positions either forget what the front lines are like, or they simply do not know. Congrats to Joel for taking the time to understand.
  22. Oh Title Fairy of supreme greatness, I would love my very first custom title. I worked for Disney Cruise Line for 3 years and love cruising! I trust your judgement on choosing a great cruising title. Thank you ever so much!
  23. I am not sure how immersive it will seem with lines all over the place and the crowds. Especially at a park that doesn't have a large number of attractions given the number of guests it sees in a given day. Don't get me wrong, I like IOA as much and the next enthusiast, I just wish there were more to do and have found the crowds almost unbearable in certain areas. I am confident that this area will constantly be crowded and people will not be able to appreciate the details of the themeing in this section. David
  24. Great TR! Looks like a lot of fun! I'd like to try this sometime, but the price seems a bit high. Thanks for the info though! David
  25. I think that this is a great idea. Walking out of the park when there are only a handful of other guests around you is a great experience. You can really see everything the park offers at night and there is a calmness that isn't there during the day. I can only hope that this will extend to other restaurants as well, but I feel for the cast members who now have to add another hour to their shifts. Will this mean the shops will extend their hours too? If so, I can see this turning into another hour in the park and it may lose some of it's appeal (at least for me). David
