  1. Does anyone think it could be a smaller launch coaster like Kanonen? They could be going for the record for the launch coaster with the most inversions or something like that. I really have no idea, but it does seem plausable at this point...
  2. I have been trying to find out more info about PAX Coasters. Does anyone know of any installations (besides Wild Train) and it there any video or photos out there? I went to the company website and it didn't really show much.
  3. I rode the Wild Beast again last week and the fan curve was so much smoother than in the past. In fact it seems to have more bank to it this year. Does anyone know if it has been retracked? David Hades in a week.....
  4. Just a short TR - Sorry no photos..... We arrived at the park at 9:55 - just before it opened to the public. I had my step-sister - a rollercoaster newbie ( at age 17 if you can imagine)) with me. As soon as they let us past a very sad version of a rope-drop, we headed right for the Italian Job. I don't know what it is, but I really enjoy this ride. It is not a record breaker, but just fun. The launch was okay, but the tunnel at the end rocked - it seemed that we were out of control. My sis - loved it! - not a bad first coaster experience. We then headed to the Mighty Canadian Mine Buster. Not so mighty anymore. I have been on it a lot over that past 25 years and the re-tracking for the water park is just wrong. A lot of the air time moments of the past were wasted with flat sections - the only good part is that the ride was running fairly smooth and was not a Rib-Buster like I remembered (a little bouncing around is good though). At this point, I thought the park was going to be busy so we headed for Vortex (arrow - suspended). When we got there, we found a third ride that was virtually a walk-on. This is unheard of at PCW in July. Vortex - What can I say- a great ride as usual. The only thing that gets me about this is that it hits the brake run at full tilt. I mean, this coaster could easily be double its length! Maybe they'll extend it in the future (yeah right, I wish). At this point my Sis had been on three pretty good rides for a coaster newbie. We then went to the Fly! The Fly is a giant Wild Mouse. It was fun, but the ride ops couldn't keep up. At one point, all the cars were stacked *8 in total* and there was nothing running the track. All in all, an okay ride. We then went to the vekoma kiddie-bashing machine - The Silver Streak. Again, the first suspended ride for her - kind of training for TOP GUN (SLC) - which she didn't ride and I couldn't be bothered either (I already had that credit). We went to the ghoster coaster - a fun kiddie woodie. If you choose to ride this one, go for the back - it packs a surprising punch and you get a fair bit of pull over the hills (AIR Time!) I know its a kiddie coaster, but it is pretty good. I looked at my watch after this ride (5th of the day) and it was only noon! - I couldn't believe it. We then headed for my favourite ride - the Wild Beast! The wild beast was incredibly smooth and again this year, they were not using the trim brakes. The curve above the station appeared to have a steeper bank than before (was it retracked?) and it was running incredibly fast. After the last turn, we spent more time out of our seats than sitting - the air time was incredible. Now I know this is not a huge coaster, but I believe it is the best we have - I still like it, even after some of the larger faster rides..... We finished the day at Dragon Fire - an arrow double loop with a counter-clockwise double corkscrew - the only one in north america (or so I've been told). My sis was petrified, but she went anyway. Again I remember this as a rougher ride with a lot of head banging - but not this time. It seemed faster and smoother than the past. It was fun again! So the day ended with a couple of hours in splashworks and we left the park at 4:00pm - only 6 hours later and a start to my sister's credit list. Thanks for reading and I'll hopefully have some pics from the Dells in a couple of weeks.... David "I have no quote" Taylor
  5. I would have to say the Villian at Geauga Lake - I rode it last summer and it really knocked the heck out of me. As for the Volare Flying and Canada's Wonderland (Tomb Raider) - Elissa - Give it a try. It is not incredibly exciting, but I also found it smooth when I rode it. I guess I am one of the few...
