  1. Isn't Carnival kind of the Wal-Mart of the Seas?
  2. That really was a lot of fun! I think it's a great idea to do more "topic-free" TPR chats. And Charlotte was thrilled to hear Kristen! We're a little cruise-obsessed in our household, right now.
  3. Todd and the kids just spent a night at Old Key West, last week, thanks to another friend with expiring points. Living in FL, we're able to take advantage when these situations pop up, every once in a while!
  4. Late to the game, here, but we stayed in a savannah view room at Kidani Village, last year (a friend gave us DVC points that were going to go to waste.) It' was cool, but not worth paying extra, IMO. I haven't been to AKL, but at Kidani, there were plenty of common areas where you could take in the view, and LOTS of stuff to explore and do.
  5. You all are setting me up for a major dilemma, next year - Dollywood, or DSB 2012? Hmmmmm...
  6. Yay! The more TPR families, the better! Todd and I got to ride on a coaster together for the first time, last year at Dollywood, because we had TPR peeps to watch the kids while we rode!
  7. FUN!!! Wish we could have been there.
  8. My best all-out mile is 7:31. I'm not a speedster, by any means. Just got a new 5K PR, this morning, in a local race - 26:47. I haven't been running much, the past 6 weeks, and it was very hot and windy, this morning, so I'm pretty happy with it.
  9. Hope all the Disneyland runners had a great race, today! Wish I were there! Maybe next year. (I wonder if the WDW Marathon Relay will count towards the Coast-to-Coast medal?) My running has taken a huge nose-dive, over the past 5 weeks, due to my new job and going back to school. I've only been getting out once or twice a week, and have lost a lot of fitness, speed, and endurance. Hope to get back on track, soon.
  10. Good move! Easy cab ride from Downtown Disney!
  11. I knew it couldn't be possible that you didn't get a photo of that!
  12. Don't mean to be a complainer, but no photo of "Shitums?" That's ok, though, because the awesome horror of the disembodied arms sculpture is completely full of win! I regret that I fell behind on my reading, here, and missed the opportunity to post something timely about the USS Saucy and Piers.
  13. Yeah, we've missed a ton of races around here, this summer. I'll train through the summer, but no way am I going to race in the summer! Renee talked me down off my anti-Disney race perch to do the marathon relay. Gotta have that Chip and Dale medal!
  14. Dave - I hope you will post a report on the Daytona half! That looks like it would be a great first half marathon for my son, next year.
  15. That's awesome, Larry! They sound like an amazing family!
  16. Horribly envious of the meat chicken!!!!! I desperately want a giant metal chicken for my birthday, thanks to the Giant Metal Cock blog, but we're running out of time. I don't think Todd is going to be able to find one by Thursday! Congratulations on the awesome crap! Thanks for sharing it so awesomely!
  17. OMG that berry cobbler was AMAZING! Totally forgot about that! This was such an amazing day. The ERT and the backstage tour made for one of my favorite park days, ever!
  18. I just finished reading Running for the Hansons, by Sage Canaday. Thought you all might be interested - especially the high school/college age runners! Sage just finished 8th in the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, in 2:16:50. He's already qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston, next January. He's been training with the Hansons-Brooks program in Michigan for the past two years. The book details his first year in the program, and I found it to be very entertaining. I really enjoyed reading about the ins and outs of daily life in an elite training program. There is a short chapter on Desi Davila, who also trains with Hansons-Brooks, written well before her 2nd place finish at Boston, this year. Not sure if it's cool to post the link, so if you're interested, just google it!
  19. My friend Kathi is an old friend of Brad Ellis, the piano player on Glee. He has been nominated for the Donate Life Hollywood person of the year award. As a heart transplant survivor, he is a dedicated supporter of organ donation. You can vote for him here
  20. Love the "Chuck Seduces the Cupcakes" photo!
  21. Congratulations, Dave and Amy! Love the dinner on the train - fantastic! Great report, as always, Divv! Elissa - may I suggest a vow renewal CRUISE?!?!
  22. Joey - you are so full of WIN today, between this and the Fatties report!
  23. Oh yeah, been there, done that! *sigh* You should set up a TPR carnival game with all of your game prize rejects! BTW, that picture of KT with the cat is one of the cutest KT photos I've ever seen (and, considering how photogenic she is, that is REALLY saying something!)
