Great ride, amazing 3D work. My only complaint is that the ride was too short. it left me absolutely dying for more.

Best time to hit Cedar Point and Kings Island?
DATman replied to ck8-04's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm trying to plan a trip to CP the week of the 4th, and was wondering which days of that week are the best. -
Best time to hit Cedar Point and Kings Island?
DATman replied to ck8-04's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is CP a nightmare on the 4th of July? -
^^^^But B&M has yet to build an actual wooden coaster.
-
^You should ride El Toro. It is more thrilling than any of those rides. Just amazing (and that's saying something, because BGE has simply awesome coasters). I'm not trying to sound like an El Toro fanboy, but it is the best coaster I've been on.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
DATman replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This has got to be a publicity stunt that is going to have no effect on the park. I can't see the park spending the money on a task force designed to confiscate phones. -
I think that Intamin has had a much better track record with maintenance for their woodies than their steel coasters. T-Express seemed to open without any trouble, and I don't remember El Toro having any major problems. As for noise, I remember El Toro being fairly quite compared to other wooden coasters. But B&M doesn't make wooden coasters, so if Busch wanted a woodie, it wouldn't matter that they buy mainly B&M. I highly doubt that if Busch bought an Intamin woodie that their relationship with B&M would suffer. You have to remember that B&M wants Busch's business, not the other way around.

^^Try looking up the movie trailers for Wall-E online. There is no doubt in my mind that Wall-E will destroy Kung Fu Panda.

You'd think that with the development of Intamin woodies, most of these arguments are pointless. Of course, BGE could be looking at one and we wouldn't even know about it for a while.

^Well, the whole point was Sweeney taking revenge for not only 15 years in prison but the death of his wife. It makes sense that he would take revenge on Mrs. Lovett because if it hadn't been for her, he might have had some happiness left.

Celebrities and Athletes you've met...

I met the cast of ET at the premiere when they re-released it a few years back. -
I don't know why everyone brings up animatronics. Only seven attractions at Disneyland use them. I don't hear anyone complaining about Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad's WIld Ride, Pinnochio, Snow White, and many others. As for the projection argument pertaining to Finding Nemo, that is a heck of a lot of Animatronics and I don't see how they could have accomplished nearly as much with them as they did projections (angler fish being my only complaint), not to mention that the rest of the ride uses real sets. As for Midway Mania, we knew that this was to be a projection based ride fron the very beginning. We knew that the whole point was simply to play carnival games. I don't know why everyone is so dissapointed by a ride that isn't meant to be the greatest dark ride at DCA. Lest we forget that the Little Mermaid will not be projection based and will cost far more.

Too many complaints about Disney?
DATman replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think there needs to be some middle ground between leaving them alone and simply nitpicking at every little detail. I mean, go over to Mice Age and read the threads about Midway Mania. They're just excessive. I can completely see why WDI would be so sick of it. It seems to them that there is nothing that can possible be done to please that community. Spend 100 million on a ride with one of the most gorgeous exteriors and they complain about the (unfinished) queue. Build an indoor queue with lots of nice set pieces and little details and they complain about the story/immersion in the ride. Hell, those people despised Buzz Lightyear (for no apparent reason except that the interactivity detracts from the ride experience or something along those lines). In my opinion, if Imagineering dishes out a ride that is in every way awful (a la Superstar Limo), then they deserve criticism. But if it is only the smallest things that a Disney hardcore fan will notice, then there is no reason to complain. -
2 Men Arrested outside of Carowinds for....

I took pictures in NYC of the buildings. Does that make me a terrorist? Perhaps there is more to this story that hasn't been let on to the public. Who knows. -
TPR's Compact NL Coaster Contest
DATman replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Well, I didn't have time to support my coaster (this is the week of our school's musical so I've had bareley enough time to do homework). Good luck to everyone else though. -
Day of Silence isn't the only Gay Awareness day out there. National Coming Out Day exists as well, and that serves as more of an educational day than a statement.

Jarmor's first Nolimits Challange...
DATman replied to jarmor's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Interesting use of the Sweeney Todd music. Should be a fun contest, whatever it is. -
We did it at my school with our GSA (and I participated) and all of the students were actually really respectful towards everyone.

Mini-Hypercoaster Vote-off
DATman replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I forgot to say subtract one from mine. I accidentally voted before reading the whole "don't vote if you posted a coster". Really sorry about that.
